“Rachael did such a fantastic job with our pups. She stayed at our house and watched our 3 dogs for several days and they were very content and happy with her. One of our sweet pups is very old, and Rachael had no problems taking care of everything she needed. All of our pups have medications and there were no issues with any of that either. Our house looked better than we left it when we returned, and Rachael was extremely communicative and sent lots of pictures while we were gone. We really could not have asked for more.”

“John was great very communicative, attentive, and punctual with Bella. This was my first experience using a sitter outside of my family, and I must say I was really happy to have found him. He made the entire process comfortable and stress-free, and I would absolutely recommend him as a sitter.”

“Terri was great with my dog Bunny who has a history of abuse and has anxiety especially new people. She really took the time to spend time with her and make her more comfortable.”

About: I've had animals my entire life: dogs and cats both. I used to work at a pet store and learned a lot from my time there. I currently live in a house with two dogs (one small and one large) and a cat. I have ample experience with all breed types and dogs of all sizes, as well as animals with special needs. I work full time at a bookstore and can commit to dog walking in afternoons and mornings, as well as check ins! I am also open to pet sitting options in the future. I work at a bookstore close to full time (around 35 hours a week.) I am available in the mornings before I leave (before 8) as well as in the afternoons after 4! I do not work weekends, so I can commit to more long term hours and visits then. I do well to listen to all instructions given to me and never make any decisions before consulting with you. I kennel my own dog, and have him on a schedule that works best for him. I know that all animals are different and do my best to ensure your baby is well taken care of and isn't given any unnecessary stress.
“Emma did an outstanding job house sitting for our cat Ziggy for 3 nights. Emma is responsible, very sweet, communicative, sent lots of updates & photos - she’s a real “cat whisperer!” Our cat was clearly comfortable with her & even slept in the bed with her! She took great care of our house & left it in better shape than when we left! She provided real peace of mind & we look forward to working with Emma in the future.”

“Charlie was wonderful with Gizmo! She took care of him like he was her own! We definitely would recommend her to any family that treats their furbabies like children. Her training expertise was a big plus since he is so active! We hated having to leave him to go on vacation but it seems like he had a little vacation of his own while we were gone with all of the pampering and love he received from Charlie!”

“Savannah was an absolutely amazing house sitter while we were away. She was communicative and shared photos of our puppies the entire time we were away. Upon return our house was spotless and it was obvious our puppies had been loved and cared for while we were away. Words cannot begin to describe how pleased we were with Savannah. In fact, we are considering planning our upcoming travel around her availability.”

About: I started dog walking and pet sitting at 18 as a way to pay rent during COVID. Like anyone learning on the job, I made some mistakes in the beginning, but over the past 6 years, I’ve made a complete 180 — gaining valuable knowledge and refining my skills to care for animals the right way. Now at 24 and working toward becoming a veterinarian, this has grown from a job into a true passion. I combine experience, education, and genuine love for animals to provide the best care possible for your furry friends. My schedule varies weekly, so I update my calendar regularly to ensure you can easily book dog walking and sitting services whenever you need it. When walking dogs, I always bring a water dispenser and doggy bags, so you don’t have to worry about a thing. For dog boarding, your dog will feel right at home! Dogs are welcome on the furniture unless you prefer otherwise, following your training guidelines. I provide potty breaks every 2–4 hours and extra walks for energetic pups to burn off energy. Bedtime is at 8 PM, with the last walk of the day to help your dog settle in comfortably.
“Aimee did a fantastic job with our boys. Her communication was exceptional and we got pictures and video. We would highly recommend booking with Aimee and we will definitely be booking again.”

“Elizabeth was fantastic! She followed all instructions and communicated well while we were gone. Highly recommend her services!! Our Bo said he had a great time while she was there!”

“Meg is fantastic, our animals love her. She sends great update photos and get consistent updates on how everyone was when she drops in. I’d be happy to rebook her anytime we needed someone to watch our pets.”

“Oliver did a wonderful job’s taking care of Murphy and our house during our 2 week vacation. He gave consistent updates and many photos. It was obvious that Murphy was happy and comfortable, well exercised and ate well. We are being happy that Oliver and Amy helped us with Murphy. 5 star service!!!”

“Kylie took care of our dogs last weekend, the dogs and I couldn’t be happier. She sent regular photo updates, kept the house clean, and when we got back everything was just as we left it, if not better. Dependable, thoughtful, and professional. Five stars without question.”

“Alexis took care of Leo all day today and she gave us peace of mind while my husband and I worked. She is literally the best dog sitter and is always willing to sit for Leo and has amazing flexibility. She makes our lives easier!!! ❤️”

About: I currently have a 3.5 year old Shiba Inu myself, and if you know anything about these breeds they are very stubborn doggos. So I’m very familiar with patience and consistency. Raising her has given me the experience with feeding, walks, playtime, and basic grooming. In addition to her I house sit for friends that had a bully, dachshund, and chihuahua all in the same household. I have also had another friends dog stay over for a month a biggo 10 month Doberman puppy. So I understand that every dog has their own personality and needs, and will always make it a priority to help them feel safe and comfortable. Pet care is already a part of my daily routine. I care for my 3-year-old Shiba Inu every day by making sure she's fed, has fresh water, gets plenty of attention, and stays on a consistent routine. Since I currently have a flexible schedule, I'm able to spend quality time with pets and adapt to their individual needs. I understand that every dog is different, and I'm committed to making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. When caring for pets in my own home or a client's home, I always focus on keeping them comfortable and maintaining their normal routine. I make sure they have fresh food and water, provide plenty of attention and playtime, clean up after them, and monitor them to ensure they're happy and safe. I also follow any specific instructions from the owner, such as feeding schedules, medications, or other care preferences. I understand that every pet is different, and I do my best to give them the same level of care and attention I'd want for my own dog.

“This is my second time using Sherry. As soon as she got to my house all of my babies were so excited and happy to see her. They absolutely love her!! She obviously treats them very well and sounds like she spoils them. I highly recommend her”

“This was our first experience with Rover. Our senior boy Hobbes is pretty easy but does need attention. Abby was wonderful!! Our home was in great shape and Hobbes was happy. Thank you Abby!!!”
“Sandra took excellent care of not only our pups, but our home, too!! She was incredibly responsive and provided plenty of updates while we were away. Our dogs were so spoiled and loved on. We would highly recommend Sandra to anyone needing care for their pups!!”

OMG—there simply aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful Alyssa was with our 1-year-old Frenchie! She took such great care of our little man the entire time we were away. We received daily texts and photos of him, which gave us so much peace of mind. Alyssa made sure he felt loved every single one of the 8 days we were on vacation. She knew he had never been left alone before, so she went above and beyond—taking him on an outing to the nail salon with her and even sharing dinner that included a few meatballs just for him. We couldn’t have asked for a better housesitter. I highly recommend Alyssa to anyone looking for someone to care for their fur baby. She is truly the best!

We used Bryanna for house sitting with our 3 fur babies for 14 days while we were gone. She is amazing and our dogs were not stressed out by being boarded and were comfortable in our home while we were away. We will be using Bryanna and in the near future. Our dogs loved her!

Katherine did absolutely amazing looking after my fur babies for 9 days ! She took great care of my 18 year old dog and bossy cat. I received messages and pictures everyday of my babies, and the house was left in tiptop shape. Would definitely book her again.

Deanna is fantastic. We've used her twice already and had to reschedule once. She communicates well and the dogs love her. No issues with the dogs when we depart as they want to play more with her than us. She sends pictures throughout the day and evening. Highly recommend!

Kayla was absolutely incredible with Penelope and Parker! From the moment we connected, I felt completely at ease knowing they were in such caring and capable hands. She went above and beyond to make sure both dogs were comfortable, happy, and well cared for the entire time. Kayla kept me updated with regular messages and photos, which meant so much and gave me total peace of mind. It was clear that she genuinely cared about their routines, personalities, and little quirks—Penelope and Parker both looked so relaxed and content! I came home to two very happy pups and everything in perfect shape. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would 100% book with Kayla again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive, and kind sitter! Thank you again, Kayla! 🐾

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Klein walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Klein maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Klein choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
