“Avani was wonderful with our cats while we were out of town! She’s very communicative and I could tell right away that she’s great with cats. I would definitely book with her again in the future.”

“Shelby is absolutely awesome! I can’t recommend her enough and I’m so grateful we found her. She is always prompt, takes excellent care of our 3 big dogs and they love her. They are all rescues and can be weary of new people, but she takes her time to get to know them and it is such a comfort to us knowing they are cared for so well while we are away. Their Rover cards are always filled out in detailed about their behavior, what they did and how they were. She plays with them, gives them tons of love and I know they look forward to her coming to care for them. Thank you Shelby!!”

“Our 1st Rover use has been such a wonderful pleasure because of Charde! She did everything we requested and even sent photos to ensure our pups were happy and playing and accommodating to our schedules. We had our pet camera setup and was able to see all the visits that were made and Charde was really respectful to our home and very loving to our dogs. We look forward to booking her services again.”

About: I have been around and taken care of dogs basically as long as I can remember. I also have experience working with dogs at my school as part of a course. We learned to bathe and groom the dogs, as well as signs of discomfort and aggression in dogs. I am currently unemployed, so I have plenty of time to do pet sitting. I'm not the sole person who takes care of the animals over here at the moment so that's also covered. I currently live with 1 dog and 2 cats and love taking care of my fur babies. I have a fenced yard, but I do enjoy taking my dog on a walk on occasion, so I would not at all mind doing that.
“Absolutely loved having Aimee look after my babies! He can be a handful and I get insecure when people take care of him, but she treated my fur baby with so much grace and love! Will 100% rebook!”

“Above and beyond! I travel for work and the anxiety I feel for leaving my dogs is ridiculous. This was the first trip I was actually able to concentrate. That is priceless.”

About: I treat every pet like my own, with genuine love, patience, and attention. I take the time to understand each animal’s unique personality so they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I have experience with puppies (basic commands, leash manners, crate training, and positive reinforcement) and senior pets, including gentle care and administering medication when needed. Whether it’s playtime, training, or quiet cuddles, I tailor my care to fit each pet’s needs so they feel happy and loved while you’re away. My schedule is very flexible, and I can accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits based on your pet’s needs. I’m available for drop-ins, overnight stays, and extended care, including weekends and holidays. I’m easy to work with and happy to adjust scheduling whenever possible. I stay at home so your baby will be rarely left alone. Your pet will be safe and well cared for in my home. I have a fully fenced yard with supervised outdoor time, and two friendly dogs for companionship if your pet is comfortable. At night, your pet can rest in a private room or crate based on your preference, and they’re welcome on furniture if allowed.

“This is our second time using Cristy to watch our two cats while out of town. Once again she did a great job, sent lots of pictures, was very responsive, and even helped when one of our cats unfortunately puked. She is very communicative and super helpful! Hope to use again in the future.”

About: My last dog was a Corgi/Austrialian Shepard mix. I got her when she was 3 months old as a rescue and we lived together for 16 years. She enjoyed a healthy, happy life. Her last year was a little difficult on her due to age. I was happy to work with her on her diet, medication and exercise. She was the best! Over the years, I have been blessed with several cats in my life. All from kitten age to senior age. Male and Female. I had three at one time and they all got along beautifully with each other. Each was a joy with their own separate personality. Currently, I am blessed with two male ginger cats who are now a little over a year old. I got them when they were 2 months old. I got two because they are brothers and I did not want to split them up. They bring joy to my world each day. I am Retired and have all day and night to devote to your pets. In my home or in yours. Which ever is best for you. I have a large fenced-in back yard perfect for any puppy/dog to explore or play in. My home is pet-friendly. I have been a pet owner for many, many years and have enjoyed each and every one.
“I am so glad I chose Judy. She has so much patience with fur babies. I had a last minute requirement and didn’t find anyone who could come at the time I needed Leo to be fed. She and her mom spent their time to take care of Leo as per the instructions to the dot. I’d definitely recommend them and book them again.”

Gladys is friendly, attentive, and great with animals. She’s helped me with two pets so far, a cat and a dog, and her joy for taking care of them is beautiful. It’s wonderful to know that when I’m out of town that my sweet pets are happy and taken care of by someone who genuinely loves animals. She’s also great at helping with mail, packages, and any minor house things I may have forgotten before I left. (Turning on the heater, etc)

We left for the holidays and Atara was amazing, Not only with our cats but with us as well. Keeping us updated at every visit. Sending photos to let us know that they were doing great and I'm pretty sure Akira and Kai really enjoyed her company. Thank you Atara we definitely would will book you again in the future

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in North Houston. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
