About: I am a teacher and have summers off! Let me and my sweet daughter help take care of your pet this summer. We are too busy during the school year to justify having our own pet, so let us spoil yours! I have lots of availability this summer- let's work something out! Just reach out and we can get something on the calendar- whether you need over night care or your furry friend needs a walk. We have a partially fenced in yard. We live close to the trial, so we will go on many walks. We have a leash outside as well as room to crate inside.
About: I have three kids, one young adult and one teenager and one still in elementary school and they ALL have SO much love to give and are all experienced in pet caring as well. I always joke about how my children love animals more than humans and my girls are “animal whisperers”. We LOVE animals and have lots of care and cuddles to give each and every one. And we have all at times even saved both cats and dogs that were lost roaming around! It’s been such an amazing experience. My middle child one year for her birthday used her birthday money to gift the humane society with items for the animals there and we all used to go spend time with the animals there and volunteer for them as well I work Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. I have the ability to care for along walk dogs in the morning before work, or over my hour lunch break, and also after work and in the evening and in the weekends, even Sundays after church I have a fenced yard myself at home, however at other people’s homes I will not let their pet out without being on a secured leash
About: I have taken care of animals for a while and even worked on a farm! All of your friends will be safe and cared for in my home. I am available for boarding pretty much any days of the week and I am perfectly okay with last minute bookings and cancellations if needed! I understand how life can get! I work only 4 min from my job and have flexibility to step in and out. I also have an indoor camera to keep an eye when I am away.

“Highly recommended! Our 5 month old puppy was so well cared for, and we could tell right away that she felt comfortable and happy. We really appreciated the daily updates and photos—it gave us peace of mind knowing she was in good hands. We couldn’t have asked for a better first Rover stay and will definitely be booking again.”

“Hello, Julie did a good job getting are high energy dog spike out for walks. She also made sure he had plenty of exercise and plenty of play time. In overall her place was really wonderful. She really accommodated Spike. The only problem that we wanted to address was that she over gave on the treats and the food! We want to thank her and her daughter again for watching Spike it was a pleasure doing business with you!”

“We needed someone to board our cat for a month while we waited for our apartment to become available. Amanda came and picked out boy up, extended his stay when we needed, and dropped him off for us! We can’t thank you enough.”

About: I have been around dogs of my own and others for my entire 38 years of life. I grew up with having at least 3 dogs at once, then when out on my own for the last 10+ years, have lived with and spoiled at least 2 dogs at a time. I currently have 2 fur kids of my own, who are very loved and spoiled. That same kind of care would translate to any dogs I care for. I'm currently working part time while studying, so I will have plenty of time for your pups! I work 3 varying days a week currently, from about 9am-5pm. A lot of time is spent at home with my own pups, and that would translate to yours. I have a good sized fenced in yard, and can provide a separate space, crating or whatever is needed between your and my dogs! I also keep the back part of my house separate.
“Melissa was extremely responsive with our request for boarding our two pups. We were coming into town for a conference and she readily accepted them into her home. While she had 4 of her own dogs, she was able to set things up so that our dogs felt comfortable during their 2 night stay. We really enjoyed working with Melissa and her family and they took great care of our babies!”

About: Hi! My name is Kendall, and I’m a Health & Exercise Science student at Syracuse University on the pre-Physical Therapy track. I have over 6 years of experience caring for my own dog and have always been the person friends and family trust to help with their pets. I genuinely love animals and volunteer at the Humane Society, where I spend time caring for and interacting with dogs of all ages and personalities. My experience working in healthcare has made me dependable, patient, attentive, and compassionate. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, cuddles, or extra attention while you’re away, I will treat them like they’re my own and make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for. Pet care fits very naturally into my routine and is something I prioritize. I work PRN at a nursing home, which means I create my own schedule and have a great deal of flexibility. Because of this, I am able to schedule my work hours around pet care needs rather than the other way around. Whether your pet needs morning walks, midday check-ins, evening care, or overnight attention, I can provide consistent and reliable care throughout the week. I am responsive, dependable, and committed to making sure pets receive the attention, exercise, and companionship they need while their owners are away. I care for pets in a separate residence where they can enjoy a calm, comfortable environment and plenty of one-on-one attention. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big deal, so I prioritize safety, communication, and making sure every pet feels loved and at home while you’re away.

Great time for our high energy girl. Our old boy was able to get plenty of rest. Kayla always ensures Ricker gets her medication. Both come home happy, and relaxed!! Thank you again Kayla”

“Brian and Deb always take great care of Luna when we’re out of town. They’re our first choice and we’ll continue to book with them as long as they’ll have us! I’d highly recommend them. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Normal
Our dog was with Amber for 7 days. I was worried about leaving her that she wouldn’t do well. But, she did great with Amber. She made sure she updated me and sent pictures often to help me feel at ease. I would leave her again in the future with no hesitation. Thank you Amber for taking such good care of her.
Keandra warmly welcomed my pup into her family while we were away and instantly understood her shy but fun loving personality. Communication as well as pickup and drop off arrangements were easy, despite our slightly shifting time frames. We will definitely return to her for future dog care :)

Our dog Lola stayed with Elena B for overnight boarding and settled right in like she was with familiar friends! we received lots of pictures of all the fun she was having and love and care she was receiving. Elena took Lola on two walks, even though she spent a single night there. Elena was also a great communicator before and during Lola's stay. We will definitely reach out to her if we ever need boarding services while we're in town visiting family. Highly recommended!

Erick was fabulous with Mavis, our Siberian Husky! Took her on lots of walks which she LOVES and provided great updates. Very responsible, polite, and knowledge about dogs and pet care. We are always confident that she is well cared for and would highly recommend!

I 100% recommend Alysa!! She did an amazing job watching my high maintenance pup in her home while I was on vacation. She is incredibly kind, responsible, and my dog loved her. She followed all my instructions, including giving daily medications, to a T. I felt very comfortable leaving my pup with her and her dog Oatmeal. I definitely recommend Alysa and would use her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
