“I can't say enough good things about Stevie! From the moment I met her and her daughter, I felt completely comfortable leaving my dog in her care. Throughout the week, she was incredibly diligent, providing regular updates and even photos/videos which put my mind at ease. It was clear she genuinely cares about the animals she looks after. On top of her excellent care, she was also very flexible when both of our schedules shifted. I highly recommend Stevie to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and flexible pet sitter!”

“Our dogs first experience with someone other than family. We are so grateful for the care she received, the chance to be with another human and her dog, and the pictures we were sent. Very reassuring to us and to our pup.”

“So, we all love our dogs. I personally think my dogs are the best dogs in the world, and worthy of the very best care, and someone who will allow them to feel loved when we need to leave them behind. The reality is that we never know exactly what is happening with our beloved pets when we entrust them to someone else. My fur-babies can’t tell me. So the best we can do is look for someone who we believe is trustworthy and caring. What do I believe? I believe that Amanda and her family are caring and honest. This family has a great capacity for love, and my dogs feel loved when they stay with them. Amanda and her husband have their hands full caring for 5 kids, work schedules, and volunteering in their community. But they also have the energy and organization skills to excel in handling their responsibilities. My dogs have 5 kids/teens to play with them, and that also makes them happy. Their new house currently only has a small enclosure in the back yard. But my furbabies were apparently taken out on a leash regularly. I believe them when they say that they will be enlarging the fenced area in the near future. I do not hesitate to recommend Amanda and her family. If your dogs need a family that takes the time to play, cares for them, and takes time to snuggle with them, I believe this family is your best bet.”

“Jennifer was fantastic with our two dogs. She met us prior to watching them to go over care and it was comforting knowing our dogs were in good hands. She is knowledgeable with dog care and you can tell she loves dogs. Someone was always with them during their stay. It's not necessary but I think being in a new home helped them be comfortable. She kept us updated with lots of pictures. They always looked happy and that made us happy. We totally recommend Jennifer if you're looking for a great dog sitter!”

About: I have been around dogs of my own and others for my entire 38 years of life. I grew up with having at least 3 dogs at once, then when out on my own for the last 10+ years, have lived with and spoiled at least 2 dogs at a time. I currently have 2 fur kids of my own, who are very loved and spoiled. That same kind of care would translate to any dogs I care for. I'm currently working part time while studying, so I will have plenty of time for your pups! I work 3 varying days a week currently, from about 9am-5pm. A lot of time is spent at home with my own pups, and that would translate to yours. I have a good sized fenced in yard, and can provide a separate space, crating or whatever is needed between your and my dogs! I also keep the back part of my house separate.

About: I have experience caring for dogs with a wide range of needs—from those on strict schedules requiring medication and extra attention, to high-energy dogs who need plenty of exercise, as well as more easygoing pets who simply need love and companionship. I understand that every dog is unique, and I’m committed to following your specific instructions to ensure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I enjoy building my schedule around consistency and responsibility. I plan my day to ensure pets are fed on time, get the exercise they need, and receive plenty of attention and care. Whether that means morning walks, playtime during the day, or evening check-ins, I make sure each pet’s routine is followed closely so they feel comfortable and secure. On a weekly basis, I stay flexible to meet each pet’s needs, including longer visits, extended walks, or additional care if needed. I’m very dependable and make pet care a priority, so you can feel confident your dog will be well cared for and treated like family. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I carefully follow all instructions provided, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any medications or special care needs. I make sure your pet feels comfortable in their familiar environment by giving them plenty of attention, affection, and consistency. I also treat your home with the utmost respect—keeping things clean, secure, and exactly how you left them. I provide updates while you’re away so you can feel at ease knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.
“Julie did a wonderful job taking care of Luna! She went on lots of walks and had a great time playing! Julie's home is a lovely and safe environment and we feel very comfortable leaving our dog at her house. We will be back for more visits!”

About: I have taken care of animals for a while and even worked on a farm! All of your friends will be safe and cared for in my home. I am available for boarding pretty much any days of the week and I am perfectly okay with last minute bookings and cancellations if needed! I understand how life can get! I work only 4 min from my job and have flexibility to step in and out. I also have an indoor camera to keep an eye when I am away.
“Ruby and Leia loved their time with Brittany and family (even the kitties!)! We enjoyed working with Brittany and appreciated all the updates throughout our dog(s) week long stay. She sent us updates when Ruby was a little sick and helped reassure us that she was doing better! She sent photos and videos throughout the week to let us know they were doing well and we so appreciated that! We plan to reach out to Brittany for our future needs.”

About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I’m comfortable with daily routines like feeding, walks, playtime, litter box cleanup, and administering basic medications when needed. I take the time to understand each pet’s unique needs and personality so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always prioritize their happiness, safety, and well-being. I work full time for USPS as a mail carrier. I have two days off each week. I’m always off Sundays. Once I’m off work usually around 5/6pm I’m free! Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. I maintain a clean, calm, and pet-friendly environment in my home, free of hazards and closely supervised at all times. I follow all care instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, exercise needs, and any special requirements. When caring for pets in their own home, I respect your space and your pet’s routine to help them feel secure and stress-free. I make sure doors, gates, and leashes are always secure and I provide regular updates so you can feel confident and at ease while you’re away. I treat every pet with patience, kindness, and genuine care, and I understand the trust it takes to leave your pet—and your home—in someone else’s hands. My goal is to create a safe, loving, and dependable experience for both you and your pet.

“My old dog was absolutely happy to have been taken care by Madison. Madison was great, helpful and understanding of our needs regarding Milan. I will book with her if available, whenever I need to leave my dog in care of someone. Thank you Madison!!”

About: Finding the right sitter matters — especially when your dog needs more than just a walk and a bowl refill. That’s where I come in. I have over 15 years of hands-on experience working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. From energetic puppies to senior dogs and behaviorally challenging cases, I’ve cared for and handled dogs with a wide range of needs. My background includes extensive volunteer work at animal shelters, where I gained valuable experience reading canine body language, managing stress, and working safely with dogs that require extra patience and structure. In 2021, I earned my Certified Dog Trainer credential through Animal Behavior College, and I continue my education through Leerburg University, focusing on canine behavior, handling, and communication. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach — every dog is different, and I tailor my care to what helps your dog feel safe, calm, and confident. If you’ve been told your dog is “too difficult” or “too much” for most sitters, I encourage you to reach out. I have experience with reactive, anxious, high-drive, and medically complex dogs, including administering medications and injections when needed. My goal is not just to watch your dog, but to advocate for them while you’re away. For safety and individualized care, I only accept one family of dogs at a time. This allows me to focus fully on your dog’s routine, comfort, and well-being — no overcrowding, no chaos. I’d love to schedule a meet & greet so we can make sure it’s a great fit for everyone. You’ll leave knowing your dog is in capable, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring hands. Thanks for stopping by my profile — I look forward to meeting you and your best friend soon. I'm hoping to make canine boarding/training my new job. I still work full time in a hybrid remote role. I will only accept boarding reservations where I know I will be home. I prefer to exercise dogs by walking them, but will do anything to keep your friends on their own routine. Anything you can share with me about your dogs preferred routine will help me keep their schedule as normal as possible.
About: I've been a dog mom to s pit/lab mix and currently a pit/Cane Corso mix. He's a sweet boy who loves eveyone and is both active but also likes his daily naps. I work 3 days of the week so on my days off I'm available for walks/drop-in visits or boarding. Aslan would love to have someone to play with😊 I have a fenced yard and a doggy door which makes it easy for quick potty breaks and playtime. I enjoy taking my dude on hiking the trails at a park or to a dog park to run off his energy and take great naps after. I also spend a lot of time playing and training Aslan. Communication with animals is important to me and making sure their needs are met. Treats are on the daily menu!

About: What sets me apart as a dog sitter is the level of care and attention I give to every dog as if they were my own. I take the time to learn each dog’s personality, routine, and needs so they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you’re away. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, including puppies and seniors. With puppies, I focus on consistency, positive reinforcement, and helping maintain any training routines you’ve started. For senior dogs, I’m patient, gentle, and attentive to their comfort, mobility, and any medication or special care needs. I’m reliable, communicative, and always keep owners updated with messages and photos so you can have peace of mind. My goal is to create a calm, fun, and loving environment where your dog feels right at home. As a teacher off for the summer, I have a very flexible and open schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. Pet care naturally fits into my routine because I’m home most of the time, making it easy to provide regular walks, playtime, feeding, and companionship. I enjoy staying active, so daily walks and outdoor time are a priority, and I also make sure to include downtime for rest and cuddles. Because I’m not tied to a strict work schedule right now, I can be very responsive to each pet’s needs, whether that’s sticking to a specific routine, administering medications, or simply giving extra love and attention. Your pet will never feel rushed or overlooked—they’ll be part of my daily routine and cared for like family. Safety, trust, and a calm environment are my top priorities when caring for pets. In my home, I provide a clean, comfortable, and pet-friendly space where dogs can relax and feel at ease. I also have a fully fenced-in yard, which allows for safe outdoor play, exercise, and fresh air while always being supervised. I take time to learn each pet’s routine, preferences, and any special needs so I can keep their schedule as consistent as possible. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, or medication, I follow your instructions closely and treat your pet like part of my family. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of your space and maintain your pet’s normal routine to help reduce stress. I ensure doors and gates are secure, keep a close eye on safety at all times, and provide updates with messages and photos so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands. My goal is to create a safe, loving, and trustworthy environment where pets feel comfortable and owners have complete peace of mind.
About: I have three kids, one young adult and one teenager and one still in elementary school and they ALL have SO much love to give and are all experienced in pet caring as well. I always joke about how my children love animals more than humans and my girls are “animal whisperers”. We LOVE animals and have lots of care and cuddles to give each and every one. And we have all at times even saved both cats and dogs that were lost roaming around! It’s been such an amazing experience. My middle child one year for her birthday used her birthday money to gift the humane society with items for the animals there and we all used to go spend time with the animals there and volunteer for them as well I work Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. I have the ability to care for along walk dogs in the morning before work, or over my hour lunch break, and also after work and in the evening and in the weekends, even Sundays after church I have a fenced yard myself at home, however at other people’s homes I will not let their pet out without being on a secured leash
“Ariel & Patrick really helped me and Ollie out! It was a little last minute and they totally accommodated his little quirks 🤪 they sent photos and let me know how he was doing during his whole stay. They communicate well and I would definitely trust my dog with them again!”

“I knew the moment we met her that we had found our place! My Sam was at home the minute he walked in! Cheyenne is friendly, professional, and very thoughtful! She sent us pictures throughout the day so that we could enjoy seeing our boy have fun!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
