I’ve fed, walked, cuddle, brushed, bathed and given medicine to dogs. I’m currently in college but coming home for summer and winter break. I’m working at the kennel still but want more work hours in the week I will keep an eye on them when they are outside as well as if I need to watch them while they’re eating. About: I grew up on a farm with many animals. As a child, I had pet sheep, rabbits, dogs, cats, and cows. As an adult, I have always had cats. My 20 year old long hair cat just passed away in January. It was heartbreaking. I miss him dearly. We loved our guy so much. In his last 5 yrs, I spent many hours catering to his elderly issues. Medications and night yowling were issues that I happily took care of as he lived out his twilight years. I have a soft spot for all animals as they go through all stages of life :) I work from home and set my own hours, so my schedule is extremely flexible. I am open to many kinds of arrangements- one time sitting, a weekly routine, daily walks, weekends, etc. I am extremely fortunate to have a flexible schedule. My teen daughter and I live in a large 4 bedroom home, so we have tons of space to accommodate furry friends who need company. We do not have a fenced in yard, but our neighborhood is great for long walks. Our neighborhood has trails through the woods and a home owner’s association that maintains the trails. We have lots of fun walking the trails. I am an avid jogger/walker. I go out everyday, regardless of the weather. I have a very active lifestyle! We recently adopted a cat, but he stays in his own area on a different level of the house. He has claimed my daughter as his and lives in her room. When dogs come to stay with us, he typically stays in his room & pups never see him, although he has made friends with some of our regularly visiting pups 😊 I have a very flexible work schedule. When I do have to be away from home for work, I am gone about 2-3 hrs at a time. My daughter is at home often and also helps with pups. She is great with animals! We both like to take frequent walks throughout the day! In my home, I have a large open floor plan with tons of windows. During the day, I like to have pups next to me in my office, but some like to lay in prime viewing area of all the windows.

About: I was my aunt and uncle’s primary dog walker and sitter from middle school until I moved out for college. I have house-sat twice for a week at a time with no problems. They have a very energetic puppy who was 5 months old and 8 months old respectively when I was house sitting. I mostly have experience with medium-sized dogs, but I’ve socialized with dogs of all sizes. My own dog, Luna, is back home with my parents. We’ve had her for ten years and love her dearly, even when she eats grass. I have a busy class load Tuesdays and Thursdays, but I’m available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons and evenings for walks and doggie dinners. Friday through Sunday are usually very open for me, and I would love to spend my weekends with your dogs! I am away some weekends, usually about once a month. I am fully willing to stay overnight with your dogs any day of the week, even school nights. For full time sitting, I will check in on your dogs every 3-5 hours during the school day. If I need to leave on weekends, I will not be gone for more than four hours at a time unless specifically agreed upon beforehand. I’m fully prepared to be nipped, scratched, and jumped on, but will not encourage this behavior. My general rule for walks is one leash per hand, for both my safety and your dogs’. As a student I don’t have the ability to bring any pets to my own residence, though I do now have a car. I am equipped for both energetic playtime and sleepy snuggles. I do not have any supplies of my own yet, since I’m just getting started here in Normal.

About: I’ve had dogs in my life since I was a kid and have been dog sitting and walking for about 8 years. I absolutely love animals and have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, ages, and personalities. Friends, family, and others have trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and care for their pets while they’re away. “So, we all love our dogs. I personally think my dogs are the best dogs in the world, and worthy of the very best care, and someone who will allow them to feel loved when we need to leave them behind. The reality is that we never know exactly what is happening with our beloved pets when we entrust them to someone else. My fur-babies can’t tell me. So the best we can do is look for someone who we believe is trustworthy and caring. What do I believe? I believe that Amanda and her family are caring and honest. This family has a great capacity for love, and my dogs feel loved when they stay with them. Amanda and her husband have their hands full caring for 5 kids, work schedules, and volunteering in their community. But they also have the energy and organization skills to excel in handling their responsibilities. My dogs have 5 kids/teens to play with them, and that also makes them happy. Their new house currently only has a small enclosure in the back yard. But my furbabies were apparently taken out on a leash regularly. I believe them when they say that they will be enlarging the fenced area in the near future. I do not hesitate to recommend Amanda and her family. If your dogs need a family that takes the time to play, cares for them, and takes time to snuggle with them, I believe this family is your best bet.”

About: Hi!! I was busy watching pets all summer, as I'm a teacher. Now, I am back to work and have less availability. If your pet can go 8+ hours without a potty break, I can help! Otherwise, I will be back next summer with more availability :) I have limited availability now that I am back to teaching, but please reach out if you think we can work something out! I am busy all day and at times have kid activities in the evenings, so my availability is limited :( We have a partially fenced in yard. We live close to the trial, so we will go on many walks. We have a leash outside as well as room to crate inside.
