“Ruby and Leia loved their time with Brittany and family (even the kitties!)! We enjoyed working with Brittany and appreciated all the updates throughout our dog(s) week long stay. She sent us updates when Ruby was a little sick and helped reassure us that she was doing better! She sent photos and videos throughout the week to let us know they were doing well and we so appreciated that! We plan to reach out to Brittany for our future needs.”

“Rae, David, and Winston were fantastic hosts for our doggo. Rae was easy to communicate with and she and David were very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely use them again!”

About: I have been around dogs of my own and others for my entire 38 years of life. I grew up with having at least 3 dogs at once, then when out on my own for the last 10+ years, have lived with and spoiled at least 2 dogs at a time. I currently have 2 fur kids of my own, who are very loved and spoiled. That same kind of care would translate to any dogs I care for. I'm currently working part time while studying, so I will have plenty of time for your pups! I work 3 varying days a week currently, from about 9am-5pm. A lot of time is spent at home with my own pups, and that would translate to yours. I have a good sized fenced in yard, and can provide a separate space, crating or whatever is needed between your and my dogs! I also keep the back part of my house separate.
“I couldn't be happier with the care Luna received! Chris and Erika were attentive, loving, and kept me updated with photos. Luna came home happy and healthy! Highly recommend!”

“My pup seemed to really enjoy herself at Ava’s. Ava sent some photos of them playing in the yard and my pup tuckered out after. Ava did a great job taking care of her. I would book with Ava again.”

“Amber was absolutely wonderful with Howie! From the moment we connected, she was kind, communicative, and made me feel completely at ease leaving him in her care. She sent regular updates and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind, and it was clear Howie was happy, comfortable, and well-loved while he was with her. When I picked him up, he was relaxed, happy, and had a great time.”

“Sheila has been an amazing dog sitter. She kindly accepted my booking request even at the last minute and also accommodated a last-minute extension without any hesitation. Beanie was very happy playing with her dogs, and the large fenced yard gave them plenty of space to run and have fun. Sheila is very knowledgeable, and I felt completely confident leaving Beanie in her care. I would love to rebook with her the next time I need a sitter.”

“I 100% recommend Alysa!! She did an amazing job watching my high maintenance pup in her home while I was on vacation. She is incredibly kind, responsible, and my dog loved her. She followed all my instructions, including giving daily medications, to a T. I felt very comfortable leaving my pup with her and her dog Oatmeal. I definitely recommend Alysa and would use her again.”

“We don't leave our 15 year old Sadie very often. As soon as I met Justin, their kiddos, and their dog, I knew she was in the best hands. Thanks to them for making her so comfortable and welcome. I would not hesitate to book with them again. ❤️”

About: Finding the right sitter matters — especially when your dog needs more than just a walk and a bowl refill. That’s where I come in. I have over 15 years of hands-on experience working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. From energetic puppies to senior dogs and behaviorally challenging cases, I’ve cared for and handled dogs with a wide range of needs. My background includes extensive volunteer work at animal shelters, where I gained valuable experience reading canine body language, managing stress, and working safely with dogs that require extra patience and structure. In 2021, I earned my Certified Dog Trainer credential through Animal Behavior College, and I continue my education through Leerburg University, focusing on canine behavior, handling, and communication. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach — every dog is different, and I tailor my care to what helps your dog feel safe, calm, and confident. If you’ve been told your dog is “too difficult” or “too much” for most sitters, I encourage you to reach out. I have experience with reactive, anxious, high-drive, and medically complex dogs, including administering medications and injections when needed. My goal is not just to watch your dog, but to advocate for them while you’re away. For safety and individualized care, I only accept one family of dogs at a time. This allows me to focus fully on your dog’s routine, comfort, and well-being — no overcrowding, no chaos. I’d love to schedule a meet & greet so we can make sure it’s a great fit for everyone. You’ll leave knowing your dog is in capable, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring hands. Thanks for stopping by my profile — I look forward to meeting you and your best friend soon. I'm hoping to make canine boarding/training my new job. I still work full time in a hybrid remote role. I will only accept boarding reservations where I know I will be home. I prefer to exercise dogs by walking them, but will do anything to keep your friends on their own routine. Anything you can share with me about your dogs preferred routine will help me keep their schedule as normal as possible.
About: I am a teacher and have summers off! Let me and my sweet daughter help take care of your pet this summer. We are too busy during the school year to justify having our own pet, so let us spoil yours! I have lots of availability this summer- let's work something out! Just reach out and we can get something on the calendar- whether you need over night care or your furry friend needs a walk. We have a partially fenced in yard. We live close to the trial, so we will go on many walks. We have a leash outside as well as room to crate inside.
“Bill has taken care of our cat on two occasions. He does a great job sending us pictures and updates on how our cat is doing. He follows the instructions very well and replies quickly to our messages. We will definitely contact him again for future visits”

“Chelsea took care of our dog Spock for a week and did so well, she sent me frequent updates and he always looked so happy and comfortable! I highly recommend Chelsea and hope to continue using her services when we need a dog sitter! Thanks for taking care of our dog, we appreciate you!”

“I like taking my dog (Millie) to Rachelle for overnight stay and for several nights’ stay. Rachelle is considerate and kind to us and my dog. She is caring. She updates us about our dog, sends pictures and asks our opinion about how our dog would react to the environment like in the case of a storm so she can attend to our dog appropriately. I feel confident that my dog is getting great care with Rachelle. I am also sure that my dog is having fun with Rachelle and her dog Rizzo. The last time I dropped off Millie at Rachelle’s house she was eager to enter the house that she literally dragged me towards the door.”

About: What sets me apart as a dog sitter is the level of care and attention I give to every dog as if they were my own. I take the time to learn each dog’s personality, routine, and needs so they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you’re away. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, including puppies and seniors. With puppies, I focus on consistency, positive reinforcement, and helping maintain any training routines you’ve started. For senior dogs, I’m patient, gentle, and attentive to their comfort, mobility, and any medication or special care needs. I’m reliable, communicative, and always keep owners updated with messages and photos so you can have peace of mind. My goal is to create a calm, fun, and loving environment where your dog feels right at home. As a teacher off for the summer, I have a very flexible and open schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. Pet care naturally fits into my routine because I’m home most of the time, making it easy to provide regular walks, playtime, feeding, and companionship. I enjoy staying active, so daily walks and outdoor time are a priority, and I also make sure to include downtime for rest and cuddles. Because I’m not tied to a strict work schedule right now, I can be very responsive to each pet’s needs, whether that’s sticking to a specific routine, administering medications, or simply giving extra love and attention. Your pet will never feel rushed or overlooked—they’ll be part of my daily routine and cared for like family. Safety, trust, and a calm environment are my top priorities when caring for pets. In my home, I provide a clean, comfortable, and pet-friendly space where dogs can relax and feel at ease. I also have a fully fenced-in yard, which allows for safe outdoor play, exercise, and fresh air while always being supervised. I take time to learn each pet’s routine, preferences, and any special needs so I can keep their schedule as consistent as possible. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, or medication, I follow your instructions closely and treat your pet like part of my family. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of your space and maintain your pet’s normal routine to help reduce stress. I ensure doors and gates are secure, keep a close eye on safety at all times, and provide updates with messages and photos so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands. My goal is to create a safe, loving, and trustworthy environment where pets feel comfortable and owners have complete peace of mind.
About: I used to volunteer at an animal shelter, and I learned how to attentively take instructions when it came to the care of an animal. I have dealt with dogs and cats that have digestive issues, as well as knowing my way around taking care of (oral) medication. I am also used to dogs or cats that need daily exercise or some that are very energetic and need a lot of attention. Before moving to New Mexico, I had two dogs, and I was always keen on keeping them safe + well taken care of, but most importantly, checking that they were always happy and healthy. And I would be honored to take care of your pet in the same manner. Because I am searching for work, all of my time is dedicated to Rover at the moment. I am available every day of the week. I have a two bedroom apartment and two cats, so I cannot board any fur babies in my home unless you are absolutely sure they are okay around cats. On the other hand, I can guarantee that I will keep an eye on any pets I take care of in a client's home, as well as provide updates based on your preference!

“Karan was amazing. He watched our Garfield sized Cat and was truly wonderful. Smart, responsible, kind and loving to our fat feline. I can’t recommend Karan enough. He has an adorable 15 lbs perfect dog as well that will get along great with any dog or cat. Nice place as well, so you are leaving your furry friend in the best of hands. Thanks Karan. We will use your services again for sure.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
