“Katrina did a great job with our kitty! Got him his meds every day and spent time petting or playing with him - he’s very sociable and always wants to be with people. Very glad we found Katrina!”

“Had Amber come over for a training session. She was punctual and prepared when she showed up. Listened to directions super well and was really friendly! Loved working with her and will definitely book again!”

“I cannot say enough great things about Chris and Kate! They provided a daily drop-in visit to check in on our kitties while we were out of town. Our playful kitty Lin met them at the door each day, our shy kitty Dottie quickly warmed up to them, and they were even able to spot our senior cat Smokey a number of times (before he ran off to hide, as he usually does, haha!) I also really appreciated the detailed notes and adorable photos of the kitties they sent us each day -- you could tell how comfortable the kittens were with them by the end of the week. It's such a relief to know your pets are being well taken care of when you're out of town! This was our first time using Rover, and I'm so glad to have had such a great experience with Kate and Chris! We will be booking them again in the future! :) Thank you!”
“Martina took care of Lumi over the Christmas holiday. She completely spoiled her with the most loving care, four visits and walks a day, games, puzzles, and treats galore. She also did Lumi's favorite activity- daily brushing and a massage. She also spoiled us by giving us photos at each check-in, letting us know Lumi was happy, safe, and content. I could not have asked for a better holiday- I had absolutely no stress about our pet being left at home alone- she was in great hands all of the time. I highly recommend Martina if you want someone who will consider all of your pet's needs and wants and strive to make them happen!”

“Gabrielle was great! She was available for me last minute. She kept me updated about the dogs and sent me photos that gave me a reassurance that they were in good hands! Highly recommend!”
“They were willing to work with a very last-minute request and went right over to take care of our boys. Having no familiarity with the dogs, they still worked with their quirks and weren't afraid to ask questions when it was needed. Like how to get Rory back inside when he really wanted to keep playing. We are very grateful!”

“Peggy did a wonderful job doing drop ins this past weekend to check in on my girls. She made sure they were fed, had water, and that they were okay. She also left them treats even though they were shy. I felt confident while I was on my business trip that my girls were well taken care of. I will definitely hire her again in the future!”

“Jaclyn dropped in on my cat while I was out of the country for two weeks. This was a huge relief because not only did she take pics and fill out his card, she also kept me informed of a possible illness and engaged with me in multiple texts on his care and well being. 100% will book with Jackie again!!”

About: My wife Erika and I are dog lovers through and through. We rescued our pup Kenzie in 2020 and she has been the best addition to our family. We love taking her on walks and spoiling her. We look forward to caring for your dog like they are our own. My wife and I both work from home. I have a fairly flexible schedule and can step away when needed to take care of any needs that come up. We look forward to helping with whatever needs you have, whether it is dog walking, feeding, letting them out or just keeping them company. For boarding and doggy day care, it is important that your dog is able to climb up steps as our bedroom and home offices are on the second floor. Unfortunately for house sitting, we do not accept requests if there is also a cat in the home. Please let us know what we can help with!
About: I am an Animal Science Major at ISU and worked at a vet clinic recently! I am looking forward to having process in my career and loving what I do best! I am full time in school and the rest of the day throughout homework and studying I’m up and about with my animals fitting in their needs and care. I value their space when giving me signals of stress and being overwhelmed as very excited with them when that is what they need. Full energy dogs are so loving and we have the best time as well as calm and old souls who needs more naps.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Normal
Georgia is such a sweet human being! She took the best care of our 3 cats for us while we were gone on vacation. She was available last minute when we needed her, had no problems coming by for a meet and greet before us leaving and sent us daily updates/pictures of our boys. We will absolutely be booking her for all our of our future pet sitter needs and would hands down recommend her to anyone.

Jaclyn was fantastic. She provided detailed updates and photos that reassured us our kitties were in good hands. She gave our needy boy extra attention and snuggle time. She even earned the trust of our shy girl. We will definitely be using Jaclyn again in the future.

Annie took such wonderful care of our boys including walks, managing their special diet, and sending the sweetest update with photos. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were so well cared for. She handled everything beautifully, even cleaned up the yard, and our boys were happy, relaxed, and clearly adored her. We’ll absolutely book with Annie again!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Normal. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
