About: I have always had pets around, Honestly I love them all and can’t see my life without them. They take care of us in the best possible ways and I love the experiences I get with each one. It means a lot to be able to be able to wake up and do something that I love and to help others in the process. I will genuinely take care of every need down to the final detail when it comes to caring for your dogs whether they have allergies or special medications anything at all to make not just them happy but you guys happy as well. I know I am happiest knowing that my dogs in good hands when I leave for a vacation and I will always be more than happy to send photos. I am currently a stay at home mom to a wonderful kiddo who loves any and all animals just as much as I do. We typically are available all week but may be unavailable once a month due to appointments. I prefer going by a set schedule provided by the pet parents this can be in regards to walking, eating habits, or medications if needed.

About: I used to have another rover account and dog watching was my full time job for about 3 years. I quit for a little bit but now I am a stay at home mom and have a 4 1/2 year old golden who loves everyone and just wants some friends to play with. I am a stay at home mom and have a dog of my own so adding a few more never hurts. My golden daisy is my child she is so spoiled and if you trust me with your dog they will be too. She is full of energy and loves all dogs and people haha. She does not know what stranger danger is. I have a huge fenced in back yard. I am also able to split up my house to have dogs in separate areas when they need a break from each other. This will be my full time job aside from being a mom so I am always home.

About: I've been working with and studying animal behavior since I was 10 years old, and my passion for dogs has only grown stronger over the years. With over a decade of hands-on experience in training and caring for dogs of all breeds and temperaments, I’ve developed a deep understanding of their needs, behaviors, and how to effectively communicate with them. I currently work full-time for a mobile dog grooming company, where I handle dogs daily with patience, confidence, and care. Whether you're looking for someone to walk your dog, provide basic training, or help with behavior issues, you can trust that your furry friend is in experienced and loving hands. I also offer a very flexible schedule and can accommodate most needs with plenty of notice. Whether you're looking for dependable dog walking, basic obedience training, or help with behavior issues, I’m here to give your pup the attention and care they deserve. Your dog’s safety and well-being are my top priorities. When in my care, you can rest easy knowing they’re in a secure, loving environment. I have a fully fenced-in backyard where they can play safely, and the property is equipped with cameras for added peace of mind. I’m committed to following any specific dietary needs or routines your dog may have, and I make sure they get their daily walks for both exercise and mental stimulation. If your pup needs regular brushing or combing, I’m happy to handle that too—keeping them clean, comfortable, and cared for every step of the way.

You can count on me to be reliable, communicative, and treat your pet like they’re my own. I’m grateful that my work schedule as an environmental scientist is flexible and remote. It’s easy for me to prioritize pet care to fit within your schedule. While caring for your pet, I promise to treat your home as well as your fur baby with care and respect. I love being outdoors and am happy to take your pet for lengthy walks whether or not you have a fenced in yard.

About: My name is Tas. I have worked at a day practice for about 10 years as a kennel assistant/a vet assistant (giving meds, baths, insulin). I have background in emergency vet clinics as well as day practice. I have a total of 5 pets. 4 dogs ( 2 pits, chihuahua and 1 GSP mix) and a cat. I have background in just about every pet from reptiles to exotics (sugar gliders included). If you have questions about which animals I can watch or would be comfortable watching let me know. When no one is home I do keep my animals crated because I've seen WAY too much in emergency and day practice for me to be comfortable letting your pet be out by themselves with no supervision. I do not require a meet and greet unless your animal has issues with strangers or I'm house sitting. I HAVE A PRIVACY FENCED IN BACKYARD :) all animals must be on a RELIABLE flea prevention and I need that proof before they come in my house.

About: I've owned and cared for many kinds of animals: cats, dogs, birds, other caged, and aquatic (freshwater & salt) pets. With vet tech experience, I have a trained eye for catching and often solving problems. As a horticulturist, I can even care for your plant collection. I simply adore most living things! Being semi-retired and self-employed gives me freedom to create my own schedule. I'm able to fit most timeframes except prior to 9 am as I have my own menagerie to care for first thing! Having had VIP clients in DC for so long, safety and security are ingrained in me. It's critical for your animals, your home, and my own well-being. I follow your instructions or my own protocols as needed, since every pet and home is unique. In my own home, your pet would have their own separate room/space and/or be closely monitored when in the rest of the house. If I accept a mini dog for boarding, they will be on a leash at all times when outside for potty breaks or a walk.

We had a wonderful experience meeting Dawn. She was warm, professional, and very thoughtful in how she approached getting to know our dog, Mr. Thor. She took the time to assess whether it would be the right fit and was honest and communicative throughout the process, which we truly appreciated. It’s clear that she cares deeply about making sure each dog and family is matched appropriately. That level of integrity and professionalism says a lot. We’re grateful for her time and would absolutely recommend her to other pet parents.

About: I’ve had pets my entire life and caring for animals comes naturally to me. With over 20 years of hands-on experience, I’ve helped raise puppies, supported senior dogs, and provided daily care for pets of all kinds. Whether it’s feeding, walking, training, or just giving them the love they need, I treat every animal like they’re my own. Friends, family, and neighbors have always trusted me to look after their pets, and it brings me so much joy to keep them happy, safe, and healthy! Ive been a stay at home mom for about 6 years now so I have plenty of time! I’m available for drop-ins, daycare for the day, boarding, and cuddles on weekends and weekdays. Whether your fur baby needs mid-day playtime or dinner served with a side of affection, I’ve got it covered! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priority. I have a fully fenced yard for secure outdoor play, a friendly and well-behaved dog who enjoys having company. If your pet prefers their own space, I’m happy to separate or crate as needed. I provide a calm, clean, and loving home where every animal is treated like family — whether they’re here for a quick visit or an extended stay.

Feeling overwhelmed and being unable to take our lab for walks in the midst of everything was heart wrenching. Chris was a life saver and stepped in within hours of our request. He was also extremely punctual and clearly knew what he’s doing. Our lab came back from his walks looking super satisfied, energy released and calm all through the day. Highly recommend Chris!

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. I have spent the last 3 years volunteering with Hope for Life Rescue and Penninsula Regional Animal Shelter, working hands on with pets of all ages, breeds, and temperaments, from bottle feeding kittens and puppies to caring for senior dogs who need extra patience and attention. I’m the go-to person for family and friends whenever they need someone reliable and loving to care for their pets, whether it’s daily walks, drop-in visits, daycare, or overnight boarding. I have experience administering medications, handling nervous or shy animals, and making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for like family. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big deal, and I treat every animal as if they were my own, with patience, compassion, and plenty of love. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because animals are already a big part of my life. I volunteer regularly with a local rescue and animal shelter, foster when needed, and I also run my own business from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of availability for walks, drop-ins, daycare, and boarding. I provide a safe, loving, and structured environment whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home. I have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time and exercise, and my own pets (two cats and one dog) are all friendly, well socialized, and up to date on their vaccines. My dog, Mercury, just turned two and is full of energy. She loves meeting other dogs and enjoys playdates, which makes her a great companion for social pups who enjoy interaction and play. My goal is always to create a calm, trustworthy environment where both pets and pet parents feel comfortable and confident.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
