About: I used to have another rover account and dog watching was my full time job for about 3 years. I quit for a little bit but now I am a stay at home mom and have a 4 1/2 year old golden who loves everyone and just wants some friends to play with. I am a stay at home mom and have a dog of my own so adding a few more never hurts. My golden daisy is my child she is so spoiled and if you trust me with your dog they will be too. She is full of energy and loves all dogs and people haha. She does not know what stranger danger is. I have a huge fenced in back yard. I am also able to split up my house to have dogs in separate areas when they need a break from each other. This will be my full time job aside from being a mom so I am always home.

About: Hi! I’m a reliable and loving pet caregiver who treats every dog like my own. I provide safe walks, feeding, playtime, and plenty of attention. I understand how important routines and comfort are, so your fur baby will always feel secure and cared for with me. 🐾 Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I plan my day around consistency, responsibility, and attention to detail. I schedule feeding times, walks, and check-ins so each pet gets reliable care without rushing. I’m already used to managing a structured home routine, so adding pet care flows smoothly with my day. I make sure I’m fully present during each visit—giving pets focused attention, playtime, and care while also staying organized with communication and updates for the owner. My home is set up with safety in mind, including a fully fenced front and back yard to give pets secure outdoor space for play and potty breaks. I always supervise outdoor time to ensure they stay safe and comfortable. Indoors, I keep all doors secured, remove any hazards, and create a calm, pet-friendly environment. I also follow each pet’s routine closely and never leave them unsupervised in unsafe situations. My goal is to provide a safe, loving space where pets can relax and feel at home

About: I have been caring for dogs since 2011 and have owned a variety of breeds, including Yorkies, Beagles, and German Shepherds. My dogs have always been beloved family members who lived long, happy lives. I understand the importance of dependable, loving care and will treat your pet with the same attention, patience, and affection I give my own. I work from home, which allows me to provide frequent attention, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. Because I am home most of the time, pets in my care receive plenty of supervision, affection, and a consistent routine. I know every pet has their own routine, so I take the time to learn what makes them comfortable. Whether that means sticking to a specific feeding schedule, going for extra walks, playing fetch, or just relaxing on the couch, I try to keep their day as normal as possible. I work from home and have a fully fenced yard, which allows for plenty of supervised outdoor time, exercise, and play throughout the day. I also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they can feel confident their pet is happy, safe, and well cared for.

Vianca and her family were so wonderful to Calvin. He had so much fun there, was so excited every morning and made me drag him away when it was time to leave. Her dogs played nicely with my puppy. They adhered to providing him a couple dedicated crate naps daily. Would def use Vianca again! Thank you!

I needed a special day care/boarding home for my young, tri-pawed dog. The first visit was a day care trial where my dog and Lisa's family and dog were able to really interact to see if this was a good fit. Very professional, patient and works well with my dog. Now, I know where I will be boarding her when I travel. Thank you.

About: I've worked in animal welfare & shelters since 2015. I have lots of experience working with dogs and cats with various personalities and needs. I personally own 3 dogs and several cats all at various ages. One of my cats is disabled- and I've owned and worked with dogs and cats that have special needs (seziures, CH, deaf, blind), take daily medications, and possess specific breed traits/personalities that can't make them difficult to manage. Currently work remote and have a large amount of flexibility in between travel for work. I can prov8de limited boarding in home- dogs must be able to coexhist with cats, be able to be crated and/or left in a single room unattended, and be respectful of baby gates. I do have a separate space for cats that is easier to manage. Current cats in the home do free roams but there is an entire space devoted to the dogs in the home. Can crate and rotate as needed and care for up to 2 dogs if everyone can get along. In your home I prefer to stick to as close of a routine that you provide them with- from their potty breaks to morning and evening walks. Staying as consistent as possible can help provide a relaxing trip for you and your pet.

About: As long as I can remember, I've loved dogs; chances are, if you live within a two-mile radius of me, I know your pet's name! Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to care for their pets (dogs and cats) while on extended travel, overnight and on weekends. Until very recently, I was the paw-rent of a senior pittie, Bernie, so I am comfortable with and experienced in providing care for medically complex and senior animals. I work remotely full-time, so am available to board your fur babies at my place or yours! I am also available for petcare after-hours and on weekends. My partner and I own our home in Brandon Heights/Hilton Village. In addition to a fenced back yard, we live close to Hilton Beach and the Noland Trailhead. I keep a large crate available to give pups a safe place to hang out, if you/they prefer. We have one very friendly, extremely silly pup named Chai who is a Great Pyr/husky mix. He loves other dogs, but if yours doesn't, we can keep him baby gated in a different room.

WHEW. The relief I felt after speaking with Cassandra put me at complete ease. After meeting her, I felt like I was dropping off my children with a friend. My dogs have some challenges and I felt they were safe and cared for. The updates and pictures let me know I chose the best person. She didnt just say the right things, she did them. Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Newport News on Rover is $32.1 per day (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 703 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Newport News. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Newport News commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 703 sitters in Newport News, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
