About: I grew up on a small farm in the Maryland agricultural reserve and have experience caring for animals big and small, from dogs and cats to sheep and emus! You can count on me to be reliable, communicative, and treat your pet like they’re my own. I’m grateful that my work schedule as an environmental scientist is flexible and remote. It’s easy for me to prioritize pet care to fit within your schedule. While caring for your pet, I promise to treat your home as well as your fur baby with care and respect. I love being outdoors and am happy to take your pet for lengthy walks whether or not you have a fenced in yard.

About: Hi! My name is Ashley, and I have been around animals my entire life. I have experience caring for small, medium, and large dogs with a variety of personalities and energy levels. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or simply having company, I am happy to provide the care and attention they need while you’re away. I am also comfortable around cats and understand that every pet has their own routine and preferences. I know how important it is to find someone you trust with your furry family members, and I will treat your pets with the same care, patience, and affection that I would give my own. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! My availability is Wednesday evening through Sunday evening each week. I am available for walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting during that time and will do my best to accommodate your pet’s routine and needs. I don’t currently have a pet in my home, but I have spent my life around dogs and have experience caring for pets with different personalities, sizes, and energy levels. I understand how important routines are for animals, and I strive to provide a safe, loving, and comfortable environment while they are in my care.

About: I’m not just a sitter I’m your pet’s calm, cozy, reliable home‑away‑from‑home. I specialize in creating a soft, stress‑free environment where pets feel safe, loved, and understood. I communicate clearly, respect your routines, and treat every animal like family. Your pet gets comfort, consistency, and genuine care—not just supervision. I’m used to managing structured play sessions, keeping environments clean, and maintaining consistent routines. Weekly, I plan enrichment activities, rotate toys, and make time for extra grooming or deep cleaning. In my client’s home, I follow your pet’s routines exactly to keep their environment familiar, comfortable, and stress‑free. I provide attentive care—feeding, walks or playtime, litter or potty upkeep, and gentle companionship—while keeping your space tidy and your pet feeling completely secure.

From playful puppies to sweet seniors, I’ve got the skills to handle it all. Need meds given or special diets followed? No problem! I’m all about keeping your pets happy, healthy, and stress-free. Each day, I dedicate specific times for walks, feedings, playtime, and any special needs such as administering medications or training sessions. I schedule my work and personal activities around my pet care responsibilities, ensuring that each pet receives consistent and attentive care. My flexible schedule allows me to accommodate various needs, whether it's daily visits, overnight stays, or extended care. This dedication ensures that every pet in my care feels loved, safe, and well-attended to throughout the week. My goal is to provide personalized, attentive care that meets each pet’s specific needs, whether at my home or theirs.

About: I’ve grown up with animals my entire life! My dream job was to be a veterinarian until I realized I’d probably get attached to the animals haha. I’ve been house/pet sitting for relatives for the past 7 years now and I love it!! I love being able to take them to dog parks, playing, or even just having a chill day! I also love to spoil the pets by buying extra toys to play with and some good snacks! I think doing rover and being able to care for others pets will be a great way to spend my time since I love animals! I update my calendar every 2 weeks and communicate through my inbox! If there’s a note given on specific times to feed or walk I’ll follow them exactly as written. I won’t ever do something without asking/notifying the owner. I’d spend quality time with the pet and try to get them to trust me and build a bond!

About: I am currently a dog mom to a 12 year old American bulldog mix breed. I do have to administer medicine for her torn ACL and I’m used to picking her up in her old age. When she was younger we would go on hikes and do all sorts of fun stuff! However she’s getting older and doesn’t get around the best lol. I’d love to be apart of your 4 legged fur babies life and offer you and your family the ultimate best care option. I’m a wonderful communicator, I have my own vehicle reliable transportation and I don’t mind driving to your homes. I’m a 29 single dog mom 🐾🐶 as a child we were always raised with at least 2 dogs in the home with varied breeds and ages. I’m used to barking jumping all of the things! I am currently a waitress and I am just finding work unenjoyble and trying out something new with the thing I love most, dogs! 🐶🐾 I’m a hardworking young lady and would love to help! My schedule is very flexible and this is all new to me so I’d love to connect about what works for you and your family! Charm my dog has a ramp into my bed and the living couch. We have a big spacious yard that is fenced in and she loves to sunbathe! I was raised to always shut the fence behind you! So you never have to worry about your little escape artist! We have a very sneaky Jack Russel going up an my brother never listened! I also have to give my dog daily joint vitamins and medicine for her ACL injuries. Short walks are best for her now but I miss a long hearty walk!

About: Hello, I have an adult cat and a 9 month old golden retriever. I have experience in training my golden, who can do basic and more complex commands (some were taught by me and by a trainer). I am okay with caring for young’s pets, and am open to giving medications or other special care that your fur babies may need :) I enjoy walking my dog and also have a cat stroller if any kitties would like some outside time! I am a full time student and barista, so I work morning shifts most days. I am typically available in the afternoons and evenings to drop-ins or walks! I care for any pet as if it is my own! I enjoy walking my dog at parks or in neighborhoods, and would do the same for other pups. I give love and pets to my cat daily, and would of course treat other cats with the same attention!

About: Hi! My name is Fallon and I am here to give loving, patient, reliable care to your pets. I have been around animals my whole life. This includes dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and rabbits. I enjoy all of them. I have previously worked as a vet assistant . I am a frequent visitor to the Isle of Wight animal shelter, where i walk the dogs. I have also fostered both cats and dogs and found them their forever homes. I am patient, loving, reliable and have experience handling all types of breeds. Please contact me for your animal needs . Thank you! I’m a stay at home mom with a flexible schedule. I am available mostly in the mornings when my kids are in school and can do some afternoons Safety and trust with dogs come from understanding their behavior and creating a calm, respectful environment. When people interact gently, respect a dog’s space, and pay attention to signs of stress, dogs are more likely to feel secure and respond positively. Consistent routines, supervision—especially around children—and clear boundaries help build trust, reduce fear, and keep both people and dogs safe.

About: HI, My name is Aly. I am able to provide a loving and caring environment for all pets. I've grown up with plenty of animals of all types and taking care of animals is something I really enjoy. I have two guinea pigs of my own and as delicate animals they require a lot of intense care, attention, and love which is how I see pets more as kids than animals. In my care they will not only be well taken care of but happy as well. I have no other pets so any pets are welcomed for boarding and sitting. I have open availability and am willing to go above and beyond for your pet. Id be happy to tell you more if you have any questions and I will try my best to fulfill any special request or care needed for the pet if needed.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 2,262 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Rescue. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Rescue. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Rescue.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rescue. On Rover:

  • 95% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 99% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
