“Anita is truly wonderful—thorough, reliable, and incredibly caring. She gives us peace of mind knowing our typically shy cats are comfortable, relaxed, and in such good hands. Thank you, Anita!”

About: I have had dogs my whole life. I currently own a 7 year old shepherd lab mix and a rescue Yorkie mix (age unknown but at least 5 years old). I grew up with dogs and have experience with many breeds and many mixed breeds. I have experience with oral medications and special needs as well. I live on a small hobby farm and own a horse, 2 mischevious goats, a couple kitties and some chickens along with my 2 rescue dogs. I grew up on a farm and have taken care of many farm animals as well as house pets. I am currently working from home and would love an opportunity to meet and help others with their pets while they are away from home.
“Rachel did a great job with our 18 year old cat. He was well taken care of and got lots of attention and cuddles. This was evidnet when we returned and he was not starving for our attention. We loved all the pictures she sent while we were away!”

“Rachel is phenomenal. If I could give more than 5-stars I would! Always in communication with fact filled, fun updates and photos! My kitty is wary of new people but Rachel got Millie to come out of her shell instantly. I cannot think of a better person to entrust with the care of a furry friend. Rachel is the best!!”

“We are just so grateful for Jessica! Our home routine has been off this week which has been challenging for the dogs but she gave them some much needed activity, enrichment, and snuggles (and managed Teddy and his upset tummy). It’s such a relief knowing we have someone to help us ensure the dogs are happy and living their best life. It definitely minimizes the dog mom guilt on a week like this.”

“We have booked with Deanna previously and will be again in the future. Our cats have really warmed up to her and love her visits. It is nice knowing your fur babies are taken care of while you are away.”

“Emily was very easy to work with and flexible. Our dogs warmed up to her very fast, unexpectedly so for one of them which is particularly anxious with new people, and I would not hesitate to reahc out again if needed.”

“Christi did a wonderful job! We were nervous about leaving our dogs, who can be a little wary of strangers, but Christi was so kind and attentive that they warmed up to her right away. She was timely with every visit of our trip and sent the best pictures at each visit. Would highly recommend.”

“Brooke was absolutely amazing with our babies! We were scared to leave them with someone that wasn't family or a friend but she eased those scares! She sent plenty of pics & always made sure to ask before giving something to the pups or doing walks with them ! We will definitely book her again in the future!!!! Thanks for being such a sweet soul to our babies! 😊”

“Kayla is extremely talented and careful with cats amd did a great job caring for Fred! She is very reliable and that made me feel very comfortable to do my traveling.”

“Taylor is great with our dog and she communicates so well from the time of booking to post visits. She also has been available last minute when we desperately needed help. Highly recommended Taylor!”

“Taylor was prompt in her replies, even when I did a last minute booking! She was great with the kiddos, they were taken care of very well. My dog Vali got nice walks and lots of pets. Taco, my cat definitely appreciated the timely meals 😆, churu treats ☺️ and play time. Definitely will continue with her for future bookings.”

I have two cats at home currently so I am very used to attending to their many needs. I have a very flexible healthcare job and I am looking for some extra happy moments to add to my day ◡̈ I know having others in your home can feel very invasive however I promise to care for your pets while always respecting your households privacy!
“Estefani was incredible and very responsive. I booked last minute for my cat who I had never left alone overnight, and was worried she would be upset. My cat was rude and didn’t even care that I was gone! I got pictures of her playing and cuddling and texts asking clarifying questions when necessary. Looking forward to rebooking without guilt that my cat is sad without me.”

“Jenna did a great job watching my cats - she played with them and gave them treats, and it seems like my youngest cat really liked her! I would highly recommend her and will be sure to book her again.”

“Thanks so much Carina! You were sweet to my Lovey and great about keeping me updated. I very much appreciate how responsible you were about keeping to her scheduled feedings. I will definitely use your help again.”

“Maddie was great for our first experience using Rover. We have a 10 month old pup that we weren't comfortable boarding while on vacation. We utilized Maddie for deop in services to feed, walk and spend some time with our guy. She was very responsive from my initial message. We did a meet and greet several days before. She followed up with notes she had taken during that meeting to ensure she understood expectations and that we were on the same page. During her times with Joey she provided several pictures and a detailed summary of their time together for each visit. Maddie will.be the first person I reach out to should we need further services in the future. I highly recommend her to assist with anything you may need for your own pet.”

Christi has watched our senior cat 3 times now! She is fantastic. We get great updates and pictures. Most importantly when we return we know he has been well cared for because of how he interacts with us. He has quality play time and stimulation. If you are thinking about booking Christi do it! You won't regret it!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in New Albany. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
