“Exceptional Dog Care: Trustworthy and Caring Review: Julie provided exemplary care for my senior dog, Charlie, while I was away on a business trip. From the moment I met her, I felt confident entrusting her with both my house and my beloved pet. Julie's kindness and nurturing nature shone through in every interaction with Charlie. She went above and beyond by sending me regular updates and even a report card with pictures, ensuring I was kept in the loop about Charlie's well-being. It was evident that she genuinely cared for Charlie's happiness and comfort. Julie took Charlie on walks, showered him with love, and provided the peace of mind I needed while I was away. Her dedication and professionalism were truly commendable, and I wholeheartedly recommend her services to anyone in need of a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter. I am already planning to book Julie for future pet sitting needs, and I encourage others to do the same. With Julie, you can rest assured that your furry family members are in the best hands possible.”

“Faith was great! She pilled and gave other medication to our cat 4 days in a row and did a great job with her. By the end we could tell from our daily pictures that our cat was at ease with Faith. She was prompt and kept the litter box and food attended to as well.”

“We had a wonderful experience working with Jessica! Jessica took care of our two kittens for about a week while we were on vacation. She was SUPER responsive, quick to reply, and gave us regular updates. It was such a relief knowing our cats were well taken care of while we were away! Our cats were happy and well cared for when we returned. We absolutely would recommend her, and will definitely be booking again in the future!”

About: Hi! I’m a college student, swim instructor, and lifelong animal lover with over 7 years of pet sitting and dog walking experience. Growing up, I cared for two dogs, two cats, a guinea pig, and a gecko, giving me hands-on experience with a variety of animals and their unique needs. I have worked with dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities, from energetic puppies to senior dogs requiring extra patience and care. My experience ranges from walking small breeds like Pomeranians to caring for giant breeds such as Great Danes. I am also comfortable administering medications to dogs and following detailed care instructions to ensure your pet stays happy, healthy, and safe. In addition to dogs and cats, I have experience caring for reptiles, including those with live-feeding requirements. Through my 13+ years as a Girl Scout, I developed strong responsibility, leadership, and problem-solving skills. For both my Girl Scout Bronze and Silver Awards, I completed projects focused on pet welfare and educating new pet owners about responsible animal care, further deepening my knowledge of pet health, safety, and enrichment. My work as a swim instructor has strengthened my patience, attentiveness, and ability to remain calm in unexpected situations. I understand that every pet is unique, and I strive to provide the same love, attention, and care that I would want for my own animals. Whether your pet needs a walk, playtime, medication, specialized care, or simply a trusted companion while you’re away, I’m committed to making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved. I’m currently working part time so I have plenty of time to play and take care of your pups. I typically work afternoons on weekdays and mornings on weekends, which means I am often available for morning and midday visits during the week and afternoon and evening care on weekends. Because I have been pet sitting and dog walking for over 7 years, I am used to planning my schedule around pets’ needs, whether that means walks, feeding schedules, playtime, medication administration, or simply providing companionship. I prioritize reliability and communication to ensure pets receive consistent, attentive care while their owners are away. I believe every pet is happiest when their normal routine is maintained, so I take the time to learn each pet’s specific needs, preferences, and schedule. In a client’s home, I follow all care instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication administration, crate routines, and any special requirements. I also provide plenty of attention, enrichment, and companionship to help pets feel comfortable while their owners are away. I am comfortable administering medications and adapting care to fit each animal’s personality and health needs. In my own home, I have cared for multiple pets throughout my life, including dogs, cats, a guinea pig, and a gecko. I prioritize safety, cleanliness, exercise, and positive interactions to ensure every animal feels secure and well cared for. I have a large yard and high privacy fence for dogs to run and plenty of indoor and outdoor toys, including a ball launcher. I have a senior dog they can chill out with or an active austrialian shepard who loves to play with new friends. As a pet sitter and dog walker for over 7 years, I understand the importance of treating every pet as if they were my own and keeping owners updated with regular communication and photos whenever possible.
“Kam is the best. We have come to rely on her for every out of town pet care need. Absolutely outstanding and professional. We will always book with her if she is available. I recommend using her first.”

“Elizabeth is great with my 2 German Shepherd puppies, they are very energetic and a handful sometimes. She helps me with reinforcing their training when she comes over and let's them out to potty and play. They have to calm and settle before they get treats and she does a good job with that. I will definitely use her services again.”

“Very friendly, readily available, and great communicators. I felt like my pet was happy and safe in their care and comfortable with them in our home. They even brought in a package for us from our doorstep. Great pet-sitters and we will definitely book with them again in the future!”
“Our furry friends love Scott! His patience and gentle approach helps even our feisty orange guy warm up to the unfamiliar house guest. We have been genuinely delighted and surprised by how well our buddies have embraced their new friend. Thank you, Scott, for keeping our four-legged friends entertained and cared for while we’re away.”

“Rachel did a great job visiting out elderly dog 3x per day for over a week while we were out of town. When we returned, our dog was happy and well cared for. She had some car trouble during the week, but handled it well by contacting our emergency contact person and asking that they help one day while she was having our car fixed, so it didn’t disrupt our vacation. I recommend her.”

“We met Melanie during the pandemic, and she has watched our kitty Boots for us a couple times so far. She is/was very respectful of covid precautions and made us feel very comfortable during our meet and greet. She clearly has a love for animals and will give your pet TLC while you are away. She took the time to listen to our requests and answered any questions we had. She shows up on time and pays attention to the detailed notes/tasks we leave. We recommend Melanie!”

About: I have been taking care of animals (mostly dogs) for many years. I have taken a 4 year vet program and was a certified veterinary assistant! I know basic first aid for cats and dogs. I pride myself on being a loving, reliable, and safe person for your fur babies! I am currently working a part time job but before and after my job I can happily walk and play with your animals. Wednesday’s and Saturdays I do not work so I can walk more, play more, or stay for longer periods of time/check up more frequently. I am happy to help your pets by feeding, walking, and playing with them. I can also kennel them if needed/asked. I do not feel comfortable with reactive/aggressive animals.
About: I have had a dog ever since I was born, and am now 23 years old! I helped train my newest dog, so I have a lot of experience in puppy training. My last dog unfortunately had to have her leg amputated when she got older, so I also have experience with disabled dogs. I have also volunteered at an animal shelter for years, so I am good with all kinds of dogs- big and small, anxious and energetic, etc. Whenever one of my friends is out of town, I am their go-to pet sitter. I pet sit for a lot of my friend’s cats, so while I’ve never had one, I know how to take care of them. My dog, Rosie, is my entire world, so I know how important your pets are to you! I will treat them as if they are my own :). I do have a full-time job, but it is very flexible. I am able to leave during the day if needed for your pet! My nights are always free too, so I am able to house-sit. Your pet will be my #1 priority in my routine! I will keep your pet safe with my life! I will ensure they are on a leash when outside and make sure they are comfortable and getting their exercise in. Inside, I love to play with them! I will ensure no doors are left open so they can’t slip outside to maintain their safety. But I will make sure they are having fun while inside!
“Emma was punctual and reliable, and followed all my instructions. This was our first time being apart for an extended period, so I needed someone who I could trust. My doggo seemed well taken care of. Jiro is quite a handful, but Emma handled him well and I know he will be excited to see Emma again.”

About: I have had dogs my whole life. I currently own a 7 year old shepherd lab mix and a rescue Yorkie mix (age unknown but at least 5 years old). I grew up with dogs and have experience with many breeds and many mixed breeds. I have experience with oral medications and special needs as well. I live on a small hobby farm and own a horse, 2 mischevious goats, a couple kitties and some chickens along with my 2 rescue dogs. I grew up on a farm and have taken care of many farm animals as well as house pets. I am currently working from home and would love an opportunity to meet and help others with their pets while they are away from home.
“Our dogs had a great time with Travis. Our pups are usually a little hesitant with strangers but they came right up to Travis and wanted pets. When we got home, Jack actually looked around like wait a minute, where’s Travis. We will book with him every time.”

About: What sets me apart is that I bring more than basic pet-sitting experience to the table. I have real hands-on experience with dogs of all kinds, including puppies, higher-drive dogs, and dogs that do best with structure, consistency, and confident handling. I pay attention to the individual dog in front of me and believe good care is not one-size-fits-all. Some dogs need a quiet, steady environment. Some need routine and clear boundaries to feel settled. My goal is to make their stay safe, smooth, and well managed while giving owners real peace of mind. For longer stays, select a la carte training may also be available for pet parents who want to add a little more value to their dog’s time with me. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because dogs are already a big part of my life. Dogs staying with me are not an afterthought or just added into the background of my day. I build my schedule in a way that allows me to be attentive, consistent, and intentional about the care they receive. My goal is for dogs in my care to be well looked after, well handled, and part of a structured daily rhythm that helps them feel settled, safe and secure. So YOU can have a breath of fresh air during you travels. I also value clear communication and reliability. I can be flexible with Drop-off and pick-up times but unless communicated (and agreed) at the time of booking I do expect to follow the agreed upon appointment prior to booking so everything stays smooth, respectful, and well managed for both the dogs and the people involved. Nobody can prevent the unexpected, I just ask that you keep in communication because I do run my wife to and from doctor appointments and sometimes I take the dogs out on adventures. Safety, trust, and thoughtful management matter a lot in my home and in the way I care for dogs. I have a fenced backyard, my own dogs, and a setup built around keeping dogs safe, comfortable, and well managed. My family also have our own dogs, including Belgian Malinois and a Border Collie. Because every dog is different, I do not automatically allow dogs to mix or play together, especially when I am meeting a dog for the first time. Unless dogs come in together as part of the same family, they are typically kept separate from other client dogs and from my personal dogs for safety reasons. My goal is to avoid unnecessary risk and give each dog a calm, well-managed stay. If an owner strongly wants their dog to have playtime with another dog, that would only happen carefully, with a dog I know well, that I believe is an appropriate match, and with close supervision at all times. Safety comes first. I would rather be cautious than make a preventable mistake and have to tell an owner their dog was injured. Dogs are also fed separately in a secure, peaceful environment so they can eat and rest without pressure, competition, or stress. I keep numbers limited and generally do not take more than five dogs at a time, and there are times when there are no visiting dogs at all besides my own. Depending on the timing, some dogs may have a very quiet stay with plenty of space and individual attention. Dogs are allowed on furniture in my home, but I respect the owner’s rules. If your dog is not allowed on furniture at home and you want that maintained during their stay, I will honor that. I believe consistency matters. For drop-in visits, care is provided in the client’s home and can include feeding, fresh water, medication, potty breaks, playtime, cleanup of any messes made during the visit, bringing in mail, and watering plants. Waste pickup from that day’s visit is included, and extra yard cleanup can be added for an additional fee if needed. Structured walks may also be available. Because of my training background, walks and drop-ins can offer more than basic supervision when appropriate, with added structure and useful handling built into the visit.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Summit Station. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
