“We had a wonderful experience working with Jessica! Jessica took care of our two kittens for about a week while we were on vacation. She was SUPER responsive, quick to reply, and gave us regular updates. It was such a relief knowing our cats were well taken care of while we were away! Our cats were happy and well cared for when we returned. We absolutely would recommend her, and will definitely be booking again in the future!”

About: I absolutely love animals! I grew up in a home full of dogs and cats, and helping care for them was such a big part of my life growing up. I now have a cat of my own, my fur baby, Fish 🐱 I recently graduated from PA school and won’t be starting my job until August, which means I have lots of availability this summer! Spending my days with animals honestly sounds like the perfect way to spend the season. I’d love the opportunity to care for and spend time with your pets! (: I don’t start work until August, so I have a pretty open schedule and lots of availability! I do have one week-long vacation planned this summer, but aside from that, my schedule is very flexible. I’d prefer to handle most pet care during the week, but I’m available on weekends as well! 😊 It’s a single-story home, so I’m always nearby and able to keep a close eye on any pets in the house. We also have a fully fenced backyard for safe outdoor time and play!
“Elizabeth did a wonderful job taking care of our two cats. She was engaging, communicative and flexible. We felt extremely reassured throughout the process. We highly recommend her!”

“I was able to relax and spend time with my parents, knowing Lexi was in good hands. She tried to get a second dinner from me, but I didn't fall for it because Ashlyn communicated so well. ? Thank you, Ashlyn, for taking such good care of my sweet girl.”
“Jamie is so good at pet sitting that my dog still looks at the door, every time someone opens it. She was so good with my older dog and all her needs that there is no other pet sitter for me. Jamie is GREAT!”
“Shelby does a great job with our dog! She has come multiple times and always does a great job with him and communicates with us about him. Our dog has anxiety and Shelby does amazing with calming him and comforting him when we are gone.”

“Rachel is great! She was so easy to work with and even arranged a meet and greet before her first visit. Couldn’t recommend more and really eased my nerves when I had to leave my fur baby for the first time!”

“Faith was great! She pilled and gave other medication to our cat 4 days in a row and did a great job with her. By the end we could tell from our daily pictures that our cat was at ease with Faith. She was prompt and kept the litter box and food attended to as well.”

About: I am an animal lover with a bias towards dogs! I have had dogs of all different breeds and sizes throughout my life (including Rottweilers, Basset Hounds, Pitt Bulls, Doberman Pinschers and St. Bernards), and I can truly say that pups make the world a better place! I would love to walk or care for your fur-baby. I understand the sacred bond that an owner has with their animals, so you can trust and believe that your dog will be treated with the utmost love, respect and professionalism. Rain or shine, I can be available to get your dog exercised and back to your home safe and sound. I would love to meet your pet and to make your life a little easier. See you soon!
“Taylor is great with our dog and she communicates so well from the time of booking to post visits. She also has been available last minute when we desperately needed help. Highly recommended Taylor!”

About: I grew up with animals and have always had a deep love for them. I’ve been caring for pets for years and have extensive experience with both dogs and cats. I currently foster dogs through my local humane society, which has given me experience helping pets adjust to new environments, administering medications when needed, and providing patient, individualized care. I understand that every pet has a unique personality and routine, and I do everything I can to help them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I currently work from home, so your pet will rarely be left alone and will receive plenty of love, attention, and supervision throughout the day. I have a large fenced yard for supervised outdoor play and enjoy spending time walking, playing, cuddling, and relaxing with pets. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, or a senior who prefers a slower pace, I’ll provide attentive care while keeping their routine as consistent as possible. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I treat every animal in my care like a member of my own family. I’m very communicative and will keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages, so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is safe, happy, and loved. I can promise they’ll be treated like one of my own (and definitely spoiled)! 🐾 Pet care is naturally part of my everyday life! Since I currently work from home, I’m able to give pets lots of attention throughout the day. I’m very active, so your pet will enjoy frequent potty breaks, walks, playtime, and plenty of exercise. Whether they love to cuddle on the couch, sleep in bed, or just be close to someone, they’ll have lots of companionship and won’t spend much time alone. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and will make sure they feel like part of the family. I believe every pet deserves to be treated with love, respect, and patience. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and any special needs so I can provide care that’s tailored specifically to them. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, my goal is to keep them happy, comfortable, and stress-free while you’re away. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can feel confident knowing your pet is in caring hands.

About: I have had dogs my whole life. I currently own a 7 year old shepherd lab mix and a rescue Yorkie mix (age unknown but at least 5 years old). I grew up with dogs and have experience with many breeds and many mixed breeds. I have experience with oral medications and special needs as well. I live on a small hobby farm and own a horse, 2 mischevious goats, a couple kitties and some chickens along with my 2 rescue dogs. I grew up on a farm and have taken care of many farm animals as well as house pets. I am currently working from home and would love an opportunity to meet and help others with their pets while they are away from home.
“Kayla has been terrific with our Rocky. He just loves her! She recently stayed at our home for a week and while caring for our pup, she was respectful of our home and belongings. She also communicates well and is prompt with responses. We love the pictures she sent each day so we knew Rocky was being well-cared for and having a good time.”

About: I have been caring for pets for over 25 years. For the first time, I don't have my own, so I am missing my furry friends! What sets me apart from other sitters is that I am an ultra runner and would gladly take your dog for a walk or run for exercise! I can board your dogs in my home or come to your home on designated weekends or evenings for potty breaks, walks, or even runs! I had two Vizslas for years who would run half marathons with me for every-day exercise! With notice, I can arrange to have my home to myself (if your pet doesn't like children), and I'm happy to board two doggies together! I work full-time during the week, though my days aren't typically 8 hour days. -Thus, if you need a morning and evening potty break or walk/run for your pet, I can accommodate that at your home! -Regarding boarding, I am often home on weekends, so boarding over a weekend is great, or if your pet is crate-trained, I can board during the week as well! I own my home and have no pets of my own. I live in a quiet neighborhood where I can walk your dog(s) without issue! They'll be able to enjoy my home as if it is their own. If you'd like to receive pictures or videos of your pet, just let me know!
“Trisha Kate was wonderful!! She took care of my cat while I was out of town and he absolutely loved her. She went above and beyond on what she was asked to do and always sent lots of pictures ?”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 1,281 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Jersey. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Jersey. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
