About: I absolutely love animals! I grew up in a home full of dogs and cats, and helping care for them was such a big part of my life growing up. I now have a cat of my own, my fur baby, Fish 🐱 I recently graduated from PA school and won’t be starting my job until August, which means I have lots of availability this summer! Spending my days with animals honestly sounds like the perfect way to spend the season. I’d love the opportunity to care for and spend time with your pets! (: I don’t start work until August, so I have a pretty open schedule and lots of availability! I do have one week-long vacation planned this summer, but aside from that, my schedule is very flexible. I’d prefer to handle most pet care during the week, but I’m available on weekends as well! 😊 It’s a single-story home, so I’m always nearby and able to keep a close eye on any pets in the house. We also have a fully fenced backyard for safe outdoor time and play!
About: I have always had a pet, and was a dog groomer for two years, as well as became certified. I worked at a pet store for 3 years! I am available 24/7 for pet sitting. They will never be left alone in my care, as well as going on walks whenever you’d like! My cat is my baby so I completely understand how loved your pets are, and will be sure to give them the same amount of love.
“Kayla is extremely talented and careful with cats amd did a great job caring for Fred! She is very reliable and that made me feel very comfortable to do my traveling.”

“Taylor is great with our dog and she communicates so well from the time of booking to post visits. She also has been available last minute when we desperately needed help. Highly recommended Taylor!”

“Rachel is phenomenal. If I could give more than 5-stars I would! Always in communication with fact filled, fun updates and photos! My kitty is wary of new people but Rachel got Millie to come out of her shell instantly. I cannot think of a better person to entrust with the care of a furry friend. Rachel is the best!!”

“This is my 3rd or 4th time booking Kennedy to look after my cats. She is so reliable, kind, and I know they are in good hands and happy while I’m gone.”

“Josh did a wonderful job taking care of Mali. Mali took to Josh right away when he came for his meet visit which really put our mind at ease. He went above and beyond taking care of her. This was our first time using a rover but I will not hesitate to use Josh again. Mali was happy and well taken care of when we got home from our trip.”

“Rachel is great! She was so easy to work with and even arranged a meet and greet before her first visit. Couldn’t recommend more and really eased my nerves when I had to leave my fur baby for the first time!”

About: I’ll make sure they get an opportunity to enjoy themselves when you’re not available, and I’ll make sure their needs are met. You book me, you can trust your pet is taken care of. Flexible schedule. Available weekends upon special request. M-F, 9am to 10am, 12pm to 1pm, 4pm to 5pm are only times available as of right now I have a fenced yard, and two crates available. I prefer to understand the animal and client’s normal routine and proactively plan a meet and greet so the animal becomes familiar with me before further interactions.

About: Ive worked in the vet field as an assistant and receptionist for over 20 years now. I have a soft spot for senior dogs and have experience medicating. I work side by side with trainers so I am very comfortable and knowledgeable on behavior as well. I do work full time, if needed I can do potty breaks on my lunch break however some of my shifts are short only 5 to 6 hour days. I work 1 Saturday per month but only until noon. I have lots of time in between my full time job. I have a large fenced in yard ans crates if needed. I have 5 small senior dogs that ignore eachother and get along well/ignore other friendly dogs. I live in a small ranch size home so there are no stairs, other then to walk out the back door. Im home unless im working, spending time with my own babies. No children, just me and my husband who is also a dog lover.
“Marlyn did an exceptional job bonding with our kitties while we were away. Even our shy girl eventually warmed up to her and got the cuddles she needed in our absence. Before we left for our trip, Marlyn was extremely thorough and asked great questions to ensure her time with our girls went as smooth as possible. She also handled giving preventative inhaler treatments to both of our asthmatic kitties - which is not an easy task to do for cats! Her kindness and integrity shone through with every check-in and we are so grateful to her for everything she did. Thanks a bunch, Marlyn!”

“Carina checked in on our 2 cats over a long weekend, and we were very pleased with the experience. She was attentive, caring, and went above and beyond to ensure our cats were well taken care of. She even watered our plants without being asked. We’ll definitely be requesting her again in the future!”

“Mirelsa took great care of my elderly Yorkie and now she takes excellent care of my little rescue kitty. He was happy and tired which means he had been played with and litterboxes were clean. I cannot recommend her highly enough.”

About: I've been pet-sitting for five years for family and neighbors, and loved every minute of it! I worked at a pet store for multiple years and am very knowledgeable in everything pet related. If you need help with amphibians, reptiles, or small animals, I'm also knowledgeable and able to pet-sit them! I am currently a full-time college student but will always have time for your pets! I will be busy with classes for roughly three hours a day and working during the evening on most days. Weekends I do not have classes but will still have work. Please message me for any questions about scheduling around my work and school. I am unable to watch any pets in my home, however I am always open to taking care of any pets somewhere else. I will be able to give lots of love and walks to pets who need it!
“Great sitter for our cat Harley. Felt like she knew Harley after just the meet and greet. Regan took special care to make Harley feel comfortable with her and brought his food to him when he was feeling anxious about her arrival on the first day. Will be rebooking Regan if we need another sitter.”

“Gina is amazing!! I cannot say enough positive things. Our wild little kitten had just gotten his cast off after recovering from a bad broken leg and was barely putting weight on it. I was in a panic having to leave town unexpectedly and she put my mind at ease and took care of him like her own. She gave him his meds, spoon fed him his food as he was struggling to eat in his cone and kept him out of trouble, which isn’t an easy task. Gina truly went above and beyond and we are very grateful.”

“She was fantastic! She accepted the booking last minute, as well as coming to meet the dogs beforehand. She did an amazing job taking care of everyone. Super friendly and kind! We’ll definitely book with her again! Highly recommend!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Harlem. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
