“Ellen and her family were amazing. They showered our dog with love, attention, care, and provided us with frequent picture updates. They made us feel at ease as we knew that Archie was going to be feeling right at home for the duration of his stay. She is the best and I would recommend her to anyone. We will boarding Archie there again!!!!!”

“We had a great experience with Ashley Communication was excellent throughout, and they were very patient and attentive with our dog. Everything was clean and well taken care of. We're very happy with the service and would definitely recommend!”

“Incredibly thoughtful and personal communicators. Most of all, our dog loves being with Michelle, Nicholas, and their dog Waffles. We feel extremely comfortable.”

“Lorie’s home is full of love for the dogs she cares for. Her extensive experience shows, and she provided a caring stay for our anxious rescue pooch. We hope to use Lorie again in the future!”

“Lauren and her family were wonderful with our two dogs. She was very communicative and kept us updated while we were on vacation. We enjoyed all the photos with the updates. I especially appreciate the care she took when their arthritis was acting up. We felt comfortable with the dogs in her care and their additional medical needs (medication).”

“Megan and family were incredible with my dog Indy! I felt so relieved that she could stay with such an awesome family and be taken care of while we were away. Indy is a senior dog so certainly more needy across the board but she was in great hands. Would rebook with them in a heartbeat!”

“First time using the app in an emergency. Continued to provided updates during a timely manner with pics. Dog seemed happy and at peace . He had a great lil nap after pick up”

“We felt very comfortable our pup was getting the best care while staying with Ellen. She had great communication throughout the process and we so appreciated the pic/video updates she shared with us!”

“Princess felt right at home when she stayed with Tamisha. I received multiple photos everyday. I loved seeing how happy and spoiled she was! She was getting treats and going on lots of walks. I was also relieved that all the dogs were getting along. I am definitely going to rebook. Princess needs to see her best friends again lol.”

“Our Goldendoodle Posey is a “spicy girl” and we couldn’t just leave her with anyone. Karla was our trainer at Take The Lead Dog Training and we were so impressed with her skills at helping to train our strong willed and somewhat naughty girl. I was able to enjoy my vacation and not worry about Posey because I knew she was in good hands. Posey got the chance to get some socialization with other dogs which she needed. I will definitely use Karla again.”

“Elizabeth did a wonderful job taking care of Sofie. She even got Sofie to go on a walk, which she usually will do only with me! Elizabeth sent frequent photos as this was Sofie's first time staying with her and her boys. The whole family was very loving and caring towards Sofie.”

“So nice to know my pup had a family to love him while I was away. Jasmine was great - super responsive and flexible with drop off/pickup pending flight schedules. Strongly recommend!”

“Oh my!! Will and Bibiana, are the absolute best! We called them literally at the last minute made a booking they accepted the booking for our Charlie. This couple is awesome!!!! Very nice, very friendly, immediate welcome our Charlie with his disability into their home. They showed no hesitation to just make him feel welcome. Very professional , house is a place that you would want your very family taken care of. Our dog Charlie is a special needs dog. They didn’t even hesitate to say that they would take care of him as we had a funeral for my husband‘s uncle today in Cincinnati. Thank you, thank you, thank you Will and your lovely wife. We appreciate you so very much and we will be booking with you again! If you’re looking for a great place for your extended furry family consider Will and his lovely wife Bibiana. I HIGHLY recommend them! I love that they sent us videos of Charlie sitting in the window, watching the cars go by along with another dog and they was just having a good greatest time just looking out the window although our Charlie was barking at everything he saw, but the other dog tend to look at him and say, what are we looking at bud.🤣🤣”

“Stephanie was amazing! She took wonderful care of Hermes and made us feel very comfortable while we were away. Hermes had a great time playing with her dogs and even got into the pool at her house, and they were completely okay with it. This was our first time traveling without Hermes, and knowing he was happy, safe, and well cared for gave us so much peace of mind. We are very grateful and would definitely recommend Stephanie!”

“Reggie spent an entire week with John, Shannon and their family! He had so much fun that I was afraid he would be depressed when he got home!! Daily walks, lots of fetch, played well with their dog and others that were there. We had multiple daily updates and pictures. Truly very thankful for the care he received. They treated him like their own and made us feel so comfortable while we were gone. Can't thank you all enough! We will definitely reach out the next time we are out of town!!”

“My cocker spaniel was very well cared for by Zach. They have a great fenced in backyard which she enjoyed and lots of toys. I was very happy with the daily pictures and videos. Would definitely book with them again!”

“Mary was absolutely amazing with Layla! She communicated consistently and thoughtfully, sending pictures at least twice a day, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Layla usually goes on a bit of a hunger strike when I leave, but she was so comfortable with Mary that she ate every single meal. That alone says everything! Layla looked genuinely happy in every photo and was clearly very well cared for. Mary also shared how much she loved spending time with Layla, and it truly sounds like they both had a great time together. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and will absolutely be using Mary’s services again in the future.”

“My 2 dogs (Australian Shepherds) have stayed twice with Emily, and they absolutely adore her! Even though the younger dog is a rambunctious puppy (5 months now), Emily had no problems with the extra trips outside that she required and also worked with her proactively on her ability to walk calmly on a leash.”

“Erica was a great sitter for our little one. Easy to talk to and plan things with. Sent pictures and videos of our dog to us everyday. Our dog is a cuddler at night and she went out of her way to make sure our dog was cuddled right next to her or her husband while they slept. Would recommend!”
“I couldn't be happier with Loni! I'm so grateful I found such a loving environment with her family and pets. She's very professional and it shows that she knows what she's doing! I know my dog LOVED staying with them. Her dogs were so sweet. I can't wait for the next boarding!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
