“Sun has been great to work with, and I hope to continue to work with them this year. Fitz responds really well to them, and I can tell they care about taking care of my dog. Thank you so much for all that you do!”

“Sarah was amazing and super communicative! She took great care of Pinot and sent me a ton of pics which I appreciate so much!! I will definitely work with her again :)”

About: My love for animals started at home at age 10, where I cared for cats, dogs, turtles, bunnies, and hamsters. In 2020, I started pet sitting for friends and coworkers and loved every minute of it! I have a deep respect for every animal and would love the opportunity to make special memories with your little one! I have experience with pets at all stages of life, from energetic puppies and kittens to senior dogs and cats who need a little extra care and patience. I work with small and medium-sized dogs, and my apartment has enough space to welcome up to medium dogs for boarding as well. Originally from Costa Rica, I am currently a second-year Master’s student at Johns Hopkins. I am a musician freelancer and during the summer I work from home so I can offer full-day boarding for small to medium-sized dogs, and I’m always available to take your pup out while you’re at work. Your dog will be monitored at all times to ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after. I live in a one-bedroom apartment with my husband, who shares my love for animals! He is constantly traveling for work so I’ll be the main caregiver for your dog! My building is right across the street from a park where dogs can comfortably do their business, and Mount Vernon Square is just a 3-minute walk away. Mount Vernon is one of Baltimore’s safest and most beautiful neighborhoods perfect for peaceful walks! I always keep my space clean and will make sure your pet has all the room they need to feel comfortable. When pet sitting in the owner’s home, I follow all instructions carefully and make sure to leave the space just as I found it.

About: Hey! My name is Hannah, I'm a young professional hoping to love on your pets! I'm new to Rover so thank you for your patience and grace! I've grown up with cats my whole life. I have experience with young, elderly, shy, hyper, temper-mental, and loving cats. Please let me know the general attitude of your pet beforehand so I can prepare accordingly! I have a bit less experience with dogs but I'm so down for a long walk or throwing a toy around the park! I currently work as a marine biologist engineer, I work with many different kinds of animals by maintaining their water quality and exhibit health. Rest assured your pet will be well cared for if I'm their sitter! My work schedule is 8am-4pm Monday through Friday. I work the first weekend of every month and will be unavailable to book for those days! If there are any further questions please don't hesitate to reach out! I'm currently working full time until 4pm Monday-Friday (and one weekend a month) so I have plenty of time to check on your pets before you get home from work! Trust assured that your pets will be well cared for. Your pet will be monitored the entire time I'm with them so no accidents happen! Even if I'm just taking your animal on a walk or checking in on them during the work day, everything will be triple checked before leaving your home. I take pride in my attention to detail!
About: I have been passionate about animals, particularly dogs, since I was a young girl. As I grew up, I have had several dogs (and cats!) of my own, and in my free time, I love to take care of family and friends' dogs. I have dog/cat sit for all ages, from puppies to senior dogs, kittens to elderly cats, big to small, reactive to docile; I love them all! I am currently between jobs, so any time that works for you and your pet works for me! Also happy to brave any weather if your pet is. I like to get acquainted with the pet through their human first: likes, dislikes, triggers (particularly sounds or things), health history (in case of any major surgeries or recoveries), diet, allergies, training, and, most importantly, favorite toys/treats.
About: I have always been an animal person, and have been a regular dogsitter and catsitter for friends and family for over 10 years. I love caring for all types of critters, from little balls of energy to to more mellow senior animals, and will try my best not to spoil yours too much (depending on how quickly they steal my heart.) I specialize in enrichment activities, such as walks and play sessions, but will also enjoy just hanging out with your little buddy in any capacity. I'm currently off of school for the summer, so I have lots of available time in the day to care for your animals! I am generally available any day of the week between 8 AM and 10 PM, except for Sunday, when I am not available until 11 AM. (6-8 AM is also a possibility if necessary.) I always make sure to respect my clients' homes and keep their belongings safe from rowdy playing. I will always be sure to read your instructions for entry carefully, and I am good at cleaning up a mess if there is one made.

“I have worked with Jenna twice and she's been great! She is really patient and flexible with both me and my dog Levi. Levi can be a bit energetic, but Jenna was not phased, and remained calm and gentle with him. I appreciate her so much and will definitely be booking again.”

“Dominique made our trip to DC so much better. She sent a card summarizing the walk and where they went, how far and the doggy business. We really appreciated Dominique!”

“Taylor is amazing! She is super patient with my pups and goes above and beyond her job. She definitely is experienced in handling timid dogs and high energy dogs and knows how to read them room with each pup. She has great communication is very prompt for every walk. I really recommend her!”

“Julie is absolutely wonderful! I can tell she genuinely cares for the pets she’s watching. She’s quite diligent, prompt, and responsive. I would recommend her to any one who needs a dog walker/sitter”

About: I've always had a dog growing up and my parents made sure that me and my sisters were a part of training and raising a great dog. I've wanted my own pup forever and in 2019 when I was 100% ready to take on the responsibility, I got my best buddy, Atlas. We began our training at 16 weeks and are still going strong learning new skills and mastering old ones. My fiancé loves to say we "got such a great dog", but I know that Atlas and I worked our butts off to earn those compliments from strangers. In 2022 we adopted Dover into our little family giving Atlas a forever playmate. Dover is surprisingly 100% GSD which provided quite a learning curve as his training needs strongly differed from Atlas'. Working with Dover gave me a deeper understanding of dogs with separation anxiety and fear reactivity (barking) which has made me that much more prepared to work with any pup. I don't believe there are bad dogs, but every dog can have a bad day. As someone with a pup who is more reserved and particular about meeting new people, I understand the fear that comes with leaving your dog with someone new. It is my goal to love and understand your pup the same way you do so that you can feel comfortable being away. I'm embarrassingly obsessed with being the best dog owner, so I am constantly trying to learn how to best interact with dogs (and cats!) or fun new ways to engage my playful boys. I am the person friends call when they need help with their pets in any capacity-training, boarding, dog park visits, etc. My commitment to extraordinary pet care extends well past just my own boys. I can't wait to make your life as a pet parent just a little bit easier! Let's chat. 😊 I currently have a wide open schedule so I am available whenever your pet needs. I'm a morning person, so I don't mind the early morning walks. 🌞 As someone who understands that sometimes the need for short notice pet care is unavoidable, I am here to help step in when you need it most! Ever pet parent knows the best way to care for their pets, so I will always follow your guidance or suggestions. I love playing with pets and burning off that excess energy; I'm not one to just stop in and fill the water bowl-you can rest easy knowing snuggles always come after some exercise. I also love receiving updates or pictures of my boys when under someone else's care and I am happy to provide that to parents who prefer some pooch pics in the middle of the work day.
About: I was raised with all kinds of pets and always took part in their care. I am a lover of all animals and could never pick between cats or dogs! My warm demeanor and friendly disposition allows pets to feel comfortable with me quickly and easily. I’m super enthusiastic about animal care and would be honored to shower your fur baby with love. Since I work from home with a flexible schedule, I am easily able to pop in and care for your pets when you’re not around. I care for pets first and foremost with love, patience, and compassion. The specifics of how you would like your pet cared for are yours to create, and I will always do my best to accommodate. Whether your pet needs a medication, has a specific personality that requires extra attention, or any other special need, I am here to create the safe and trusting environment they require.
About: I have been taking care of pets for friends, family, and neighbors since I was a kid and love dogs of all kinds. I can meet a dog at any energy level, and especially love going for walks/hikes in nature. I also volunteer for the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter's Dog Day Out program, taking shelter dogs for a day of fun and freedom outside the facility. I am currently a graduate student and have the summer off from my academic work, so my schedule is very flexible in terms of pet care. I am not able to host pets at my home since I live in an apartment, but am happy to take care of animals in any setting and abide respectfully by all requests about a home!

“Thanks to Imauri’s flexible schedule, she was able to accommodate our beagle who is just shy of four months and needed to be taken out for walks. Very professional, even checked up on my puppy when I was a little late getting back home just to make sure he was OK. She even tidied up after he came in from his walk which was extremely helpful. My baby loves her and is comfortable with her and that speaks volumes for my shy beagle.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Mount Vernon
My dog Bert is my Everything, he’s truly my Ride or Die. He’s also a fearful, reactive, and perfect boy all the same. Therefore, finding people to walk or care for him can be difficult. Dan is one among the few whom I feel totally at ease with knowing Bert is being prioritized and truly cared for while together. Nobody loves dogs like Dan, it’s a rare thing to see. Additionally, Dan has prioritized dog safety, which means he is aware of what dog anxiety looks like and how it manifests. He continues to train himself and his own dogs to maintain ongoing success in always changing environments which can be tough for anxious babies. That asset is tough to find in terms of your average dog walker. I’m so glad a person like Dan is out there giving it his all because to folks like me and Bert, that trust is priceless.

Emma is the BEST!! She takes great care of my dog Levi and I feel at ease knowing that she is the one visiting him. She always spends extra time giving him pets and treats, and she also sends wonderful report cards for me to view. So grateful for Emma! Cannot recommend her enough.

We are so fortunate to have found Sarah on Rover! We could not have asked for a more patient and understanding friend to our Tilley, and highly recommend her for anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy sitter! Great communication and flexibility during her visit, would definitely book her again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
