“Taylor is fantastic. She is very personable, and she is gentle and loving with my dog Duke. I contacted her the morning of and she was able to come take care of my dog that same day with little notice. My dog has stomach issues sometimes, and she even helped with cleanup when he had an accident in the house, on top of feeding him and taking him for a nice walk in the park. Duke and I are very happy that we found Taylor 💙”

About: 10 years ago I worked at wagmore dogs and since I’ve taken my skills to my community and taken care of family and friends pets when they went out of town or when they simply did overtime at work I only work my full time 3/4 days a week and it gives me ample time to take care of pets.mid week and weekend availability I can easily crate your dog if needed but I typically clean up after every little thing your fur babies do. I’m a parent and had fur babies of my own so I understand how important caring and attentiveness is

About: My partner, Tae, and I are parents to a 7 year Maltipoo named Luna! While we are new to Rover, we’ve been dog sitting for friends and neighbors as a team for 3 years (and individually much longer). Tae, Luna, and I love other dogs and are happy to welcome other dogs into our family for whatever length of time! We are also able to provide walks and visits locally. Our Luna has separation anxiety and many fears (we really hate the vet, thunderstorms, LED lights, tin foil, Android ringtones...) so we are quite experienced dealing with anxiety and medication administration. Tae and I both have flexible work schedules and will not accept bookings unless we know we can offer the time and attention your dog needs! We work as a pet parent team and both have flexible work schedules! Depending on your pet’s needs, we can coordinate to make sure they are not left alone for longer than you are comfortable with (if at all). We love going on long walks and hanging out at dog parks and dog-friendly breweries and are happy to include these activities to the extent you are comfortable, otherwise we always enjoy snuggles at home :) We have a fenced yard (a little gem in the city!) and a friendly Maltipoo! Dogs are welcome on furniture, but we can respect whatever your pet’s routine is.
“Julie is absolutely wonderful! I can tell she genuinely cares for the pets she’s watching. She’s quite diligent, prompt, and responsive. I would recommend her to any one who needs a dog walker/sitter”

“I have worked with Jenna twice and she's been great! She is really patient and flexible with both me and my dog Levi. Levi can be a bit energetic, but Jenna was not phased, and remained calm and gentle with him. I appreciate her so much and will definitely be booking again.”

About: I provide dependable, patient, and personalized care for every pet I watch. I am especially attentive to routines, feeding schedules, and behavioral cues to ensure each pet feels safe and comfortable. I have experience caring for energetic puppies who need structure and consistency, as well as senior pets who require a gentler approach and close monitoring. I understand the importance of exercise, enrichment, and positive reinforcement. What sets me apart is my attention to detail, clear communication, and genuine love for animals. I treat every pet like family, providing updates, photos, and peace of mind while you are away. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine because I work from home, which allows me to be fully present and attentive throughout the day. I am able to provide consistent supervision, regular potty breaks, walks, and playtime without long gaps in between. Since I am already structured with feeding schedules, morning and evening walks, and enrichment time for my own dog, adding another pet into my routine feels natural and organized. I also have home cameras for added security and peace of mind, which allows me to monitor pets even if I step into another room or step out briefly. This setup helps ensure pets are always safe, comfortable, and well cared for. In my home, safety and structure always come first. I maintain a clean, pet friendly environment with clear boundaries and supervision at all times. Because I work from home, pets are never left unattended for long periods. I also have home cameras for added monitoring and peace of mind. One of the biggest advantages of my space is access to a fenced indoor dog park. This allows dogs to safely run, play, and burn energy in a secure, controlled environment regardless of weather. Playtime is always supervised, and I separate pets as needed based on temperament, size, and energy level. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their established routines closely, including feeding schedules, medication instructions, walk routes, and house rules. I prioritize consistency so pets feel secure and comfortable in their familiar space. Trust is everything to me. I provide regular updates, photos, and clear communication so you always know your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.
About: I have always been an animal person, and have been a regular dogsitter and catsitter for friends and family for over 10 years. I love caring for all types of critters, from little balls of energy to to more mellow senior animals, and will try my best not to spoil yours too much (depending on how quickly they steal my heart.) I specialize in enrichment activities, such as walks and play sessions, but will also enjoy just hanging out with your little buddy in any capacity. I'm currently off of school for the summer, so I have lots of available time in the day to care for your animals! I am generally available any day of the week between 8 AM and 10 PM, except for Sunday, when I am not available until 11 AM. (6-8 AM is also a possibility if necessary.) I always make sure to respect my clients' homes and keep their belongings safe from rowdy playing. I will always be sure to read your instructions for entry carefully, and I am good at cleaning up a mess if there is one made.
“Sierra is amazing. She truly connected with our two dogs (both husky mixes), and they couldn't wait for her to arrive so they could on their walks with her. She has a great personality and I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a true professional.”

About: I've had both dogs and cats my entire life, so being around animals is second nature to me. Over the years, I've also helped care for my neighbors' and family friends pets whenever they were out of town. This included; feeding, walking, playing, and just being there to keep them company. I understand how important it is to have someone you can trust with your pets, and I always treat every animal like they’re my own. Whether it’s a quick check-in or a longer stay, I make sure each pet feels safe, loved, and comfortable. I am a student at the University of Michigan, studying sport management. I would love the opportunity to take care of other people's pets over my summer break. I will start my summer break by the end of June and would love to jump right in by helping those around me care for their pets in my free time. I am super flexible, so please feel free to message me! I focus on keeping things safe, comfortable, and stress-free. Every animal is different, so I take the time to understand what makes them feel relaxed and happy. I also keep owners updated with quick check-ins and photos, so they know their pet is doing well and being cared for like family.
“Amazing job taking care of my little buddy! I am Definitely going to use his services again even the time to give my dog some extra water when his bowl was empty. I came home and my dog was happy..”

About: Hello!! My name is Sabrina and I’m currently a 2nd year graduate student at Hopkins. I’ve always been a HUGE animal lover and begged my family to adopt a pet my entire life. Now, I’ve had my family dog for 7.5 years (she’s 8.5 years now), and I am responsible taking her out every morning to do her daily poops, feed her, and play with her when I go back home in California. My friend would sometimes leave her pet at my place when she goes on vacation so I’m comfortable taking care of multiple animals at a time. Many of my friends also own cats and I always enjoy going to their places and playing with the softest animals to ever exist. I’m currently at JHU doing research about effects of microplastics on embryonic development. Since it’s mostly just research, my day is usually flexible and varies. I’m usually free on the weekends other than some Saturday mornings because I’ll be volunteering at community gardens 🐛. I can walk, feed, and play with the pets at home (and will most definitely be sending a lot of photos). I will make sure to let them have fun but also follow all the instructions given as their safety is the number one priority.
“Amazing dog walkers ! Helped my pup through a little GI upset he was having. She even cleaned him up for me while I was at work so he wouldn’t have to wait. I’m so grateful!”
“Alex did a great job walking my senior pup the past two weeks! He's very responsive on the app and was even willing to be flexible on the timing when something came up last minute. I recommend him for anyone looking for a dependable walker. Thanks Alex!”

About: I have volunteered at animal shelters as a teen and taken care of my family's 3 rescue pits for over 10 years. I am also familiar with feeding reptiles. As a school teacher, summer leaves me with open availability. I am free to spend time with your fur babies any day between 7am-7pm. Some d ays I will have my 11yo walking with me. Whether pet sitting or just dropping in, I will change water and food, making sure your fur baby is content as they await your return.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Mount Vernon
Ivan was a hero to me and my little guy-swooping in for a last minute walk when I was going to be away for an extended period. He was very communicative, Amos was well taken care of, and apparently Ivan is a popular guy on our block-also regularly caring for another pup up the street. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Christine was great with our dog, Ron!!! He bonded so well with her and she had him on his schedule everyday. Our dog needs a ton of attention and Christine was great for that. She cuddled Ron when he needed and played with him regularly! We take our dog out 3-4 times a day and Christine hit everything on the mark. Her communication with me was very quick and helpful. I highly recommend Christine for quick visits or long trips! She can work around most schedules and leaves you peace of mind for your pet. Thanks again Christine! Will definitely be reaching out again in the future!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
