“Rosie loves coming to visit Stephen & his family. She always has the best time playing with the other dogs there, whether she is there for the day or for days we know she is in good hands.”

“Irene loves dogs so much and is so attentive to dogs’ needs! She is so patient with dogs like mine that can be a little needy or a bit troublesome at times. She’s a great choice for watching all kinds of dogs but especially ones that need just a little bit more attention.”

“Marie was so great with Winston! I could tell he immediately felt comfortable and safe with her! She also sent many updates so I knew how he was doing. I definitely will bring him back, thank you again Marie!”

“Alexandra and her family are amazing with our corgi Olive. She has been going for daycare and always comes back happy and tired after a long day of playing. We love all of the photo updates that Alexandra sends throughout the day. She is kind and a great communicator!”

About: I’ve taken care of domestic animals since I was very young. Animals have always been part of my life, and I truly enjoy caring for them, pets are part of our daily routine. My daily routine already includes caring for dogs. I run a small mobile dog grooming business, so I am used to being around pets every day. I’m also used to taking care of animals since I was young, so feeding, walking, playing, and giving attention to pets fits very naturally into my routine. I live in an apartment, but my complex has a dog park and very dog-friendly spaces. Pets will always receive attention, supervision, and a calm environment. I make sure they are safe, comfortable, and follow the routine provided by the owner, including feeding, walks, playtime, and rest.
About: Hey there! I’ve been pet-sitting friends’ dogs and cats for years. I’m the person at the party that hangs out with your dog near the snacks 😄 Open to overnight stays and also walks/check ins, or local hikes if your pet wants a little adventure. I’m a healthcare admin professional, currently working a hybrid work-from-home schedule. I’m available mid-day through the evenings, and occasionally weekends for overnight stays as well! I am able to travel a bit to petsit your fur friend where they’ll be most comfortable. Can follow any rules you have for your pets, just let me know!

“Wonderful ! My experience was ideal. My pup was very well cared for and got pics through out the day. Great backyard, supervision and walks to the park. Excellent communication and all around A+++. We will book again soon!”

“Kitty is phenomenal. She is so sweet, flexible and reliable. My dog is always excited to see her.I work long hours and she is able to work with my schedule. She takes her out for walks and always sends me photos. I trust her completely.”

“My dog had a fantastic time staying with Cynthia! Very fast response time, thoughtful care and a nice home. Appreciate all the pictures. My dog will be looking forward to future stays! A+”

“Jeffery was fantastic. Our puppy is very skittish and doesn’t take to new people easily. By the end of doggy daycare, she was letting him pet her and feed her treats. This speaks volumes! It is clear from all interactions with Jeffery that he’s a very caring individual that puts your pet first and foremost. Would definitely recommend. Also his dog Barney was the cherry on top! Both dogs loved to play together.”

“Sean was great on the communication and my pup and I were really happy to stay with him! Would definitely recommend Sean as your neighborhood dog sitter :)”

“Savanna did an amazing job with our puppy Georgie! Took her on multiple walks and to the creek to swim, and allowed her nap times. We’ll definitely have her watch Georgie again”

“Our dog seemed to have a great day with Christopher and his dog Scooby! Christopher is very responsible and arranged a meet and greet the day before to make sure the dogs would get along.”

“I met Sheena for a meet n greet and must say that, unlike other Rover employees I have encountered, I was impressed with the time and interest she took in getting to know my dog. After meeting her, I felt extremely comfortable having her watch him and booked daycare. I just picked up my dog from "daycare" with her and he looked pretty happy. Sheena was communicative regarding questions that arose during his stay with her. She took 2 very cute pictures of him to add to my collection. I will ABSOLUTELY be booking Sheena again for daycare and boarding.”
“Couldn’t speak more highly of Tiffany. She was always on time and willing to work with me on my ever changing schedule. I could tell she really loved caring for my doggie. As my dog would often cry on the way home and jump for joy on the way there. If you need a dog setter that will care for your fur baby as much as you do yourself Tiffany is your best option. Would highly recommend!!!”

About: Hi there! I’m Rosanne, a lifelong dog lover and former pet parent to a sweet senior corgi who recently crossed the rainbow bridge. Caring for her through her golden years — from managing her special diet to giving medications and lots of love — taught me how to be patient, attentive, and deeply in tune with a dog’s needs. Whether your pup is an energetic youngster or a gentle senior, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I work from home four days a week with a flexible schedule, which allows me to take your pup on regular walks and let them out as often as they need. On days I’m caring for your dog, I’ll adjust my schedule to stay home so they’re never left alone. I focus on making pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable, whether they’re at my home or in yours. In your home, I follow your routine closely, from feeding schedules and walks to playtime and snuggles, so your pet feels secure in their familiar environment. At my home, I provide a calm, pet-friendly space with plenty of attention, walks, and exercise to match their energy level. Communication is key, so I always send updates, photos, and notes to keep you connected while you’re away.

“Anthony was one of the best dogsitters I’ve connected with through Rover. He has been super clear with communication, very flexible/accommodating of Fluffy’s needs and my schedule, and most importantly, took super good care of Fluffy. She’s a high maintenance dog that barks a lot, but I could tell immediately that Anthony is very confident in taking care of all kinds of dogs in all situations.”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Moss Beach commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
