“María was an excellent sitter for Toby :) he was well cared for and a happy pup when I came to pick him up. I will definitely use Maria again when I come back to New Orleans. Thank you for taking care of Toby.”

“Anna took great care of our dog Rex! She sent daily updates, and I know Rex enjoyed his time with her adorable Corbin :) Anna was flexible with drop off and pickup times and offered to pickup extra food for Rex. I will definitely reach out again!”

“Melissa’s care was amazing for my two dogs. She loved them as if they were her own. She took the time to ask all the questions needed to make sure they would get the best care for their needs. She sent photos and updates throughout their visit. Great in home dog sitter!! I feel lucky to know I have someone to trust my babies with.”
“Michael was great with Kennebec! He’s very kind and very responsive throughout. The location is right in the French quarter so it was extremely convenient. He also updated us on the parades which was very helpful! Definitely recommend for a relaxing vacation in the French Quarter!”

“Lisa and Gizzy took great care of our Charlie! He can be a nervous nelly, but they put him at ease quickly as if he was part of the family from day one. Pics and updates were sent regularly. We are so grateful to have found you as Charlie’s home away from home!”

“Rachel and Mike took great care of our pups! This was our first time with a new sitter and they acclimated so easily. Rachel sent us photos daily and I have a sneaking suspicion that one of our dogs didn’t want to come home haha!”

“Madison took great care of my pup while I was away. She provided regular updates with pictures and videos. Her backyard was so beautiful and spacious, I know Maggie had a blast! Will definitely use her again. Highly recommend!!”

About: Mine was a dog family. My parents showed Chow Chows and Bichon Frisés at dog shows around the country with me in tow as a junior handler grooming, training, and caring for our dogs. In college, rather than wait tables, I worked as a kennel assistant and then as a veterinarian assistant during post-grad, spending weekends caring for medical boarders, administering meds and keeping lonely, isolated dogs company. I’m a deeply attached and passionate rescue advocate and animal-lover. My pets have all been mostly large, lovable mixed-breed dogs and second-chance stories like Betsey. Professionally, I have 20+ years of experience as a copywriter and creative strategist. Before starting Betsey & Julie Walk Dogs, I spent the past year as a Dog Handler at Pawlins Day Care — under the tutelage of all kinds of dogs. I’m a freelance writer and I work from home. I share this home with Betsey, an incredibly sweet five-year-old Labrador Retriever. I’m available and actively involved in your dog’s enrichment and overall experience. I’m active and attentive. Betsey and I are affectionate and accommodating. We love walks, parks, toys, treats, and cuddling. We think your dog will love spending time with us.
“Natalie took great care of our dog Taz and provided lots of updates. I could tell in the pictures that Taz was so happy and it was a relief that he was in good hands. Thank you Natalie, you’re a life saver!”

“Ashely was great! Very accommodating with drop off & pick up. Great location right next to downtown. Poppers had a blast playing with her dog. She sent pictures throughout the stay. Will be using her again!”

About: I have welcomed dogs into my family for the past 25 years living in New Orleans, and have loved caring for them as they have certainly cared for me too! I work from home most days of the week and am rarely gone for more than a few hours for in-person meetings. I provide lots of walks along the greenway and time in my fenced yard too. I have toys for stimulation such as puzzles and can play hide and seek with toys, treats, and me! I am happy to continue implementing your schedule and use your key words and phrases to maintain training while your pup is with me. I also enjoy taking my dog Conor to City Bark where he plays with other dogs and gets a nice bath. I am happy to bring your dog there too if they are able to go. I work from home and occasionally take meetings out of my house. Those usually are not more than a few hours. Once a week I go into my office from 8-4 but come home at lunch to walk my dog Conor. I have three boys that are in school who live with me every other week. I do a school drop off and pick up every other week for one of them around 7:15 am and again around 3:00 pm. I keep my dog on a predictable schedule of feeding and walks and provide toys for stimulation. I always keep fresh water available both inside and outside so that they are not dehydrated.
“Ms Roxanne is a true “dog whisperer”. My fur baby spent a week with her. Her daily communication via texts /pictures were exceptional! Upon arrival to pick up my fur baby this morning, he was calm and relaxed-great feeling for any parent.?. This was because of her calm, kind and gentle spirit. She’s created an environment of warmth and love for ALL to enjoy. Instantly, my fur baby received an invitation to visit anytime - I’m THANKFUL ? Great news, great vibes - he learned to use his back yard again ! Yey ! Thanks to socializing with his big paw friends Lyka and Lola ?. Thank you so much Ms Roxanne. You’re AWESOME ?”

“Shannon was wonderful! She was very responsive and she kept me constantly updated throughout the week, and I felt confident that Rowan was being completely spoiled through his entire stay. I will definitely be using her services again!”
About: Hi! I’m Tay, equal parts responsible adult and dog hype person. I’m the type to send you update pictures like your dog just graduated college. Whether your pup is energetic, anxious, clingy, goofy, or convinced they own the house, I adjust to their vibe quickly. I’m reliable, communicative, and genuinely love animals, but I also understand that trusting someone with your dog is a big deal. Your pet will get plenty of attention, care, walks, playtime, and probably a few compliments they don’t deserve. I’m comfortable with different personalities and routines, from couch potato cuddle experts to dogs training for the Dog Olympics. I’ll follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any special care requests carefully. Bonus: your dog can vent to me about you while you’re gone, and I legally cannot tell you what they said. Looking forward to meeting you and your furry best friend! 🐾 I work from home, which means your pet gets plenty of attention, supervision, and company throughout the day. I’m available for daytime care, walks, potty breaks, playtime, feedings, medication schedules, and all the “throw the toy again immediately” requests your dog may have. My flexible schedule allows me to adapt to your pet’s routine and make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while you’re away. Whether your pup loves nonstop attention or prefers a calm nap buddy nearby, I can accommodate their needs throughout the day. I live in a very nice open spaced 2 bedroom house with a fenced yard and hardwood floors. I have a yard with lots of room for animals to play and enjoy themselves.
“My two fur babies enjoyed their visit with Ms Michelle, who took excellent care of them. I had peace of mind while we were away from them knowing she was watching them.”

“Ms Evlin was veryyy attentive to our fur baby. She kept us updated with photos daily; throughout the day. Her communication was great 😊 we’re very excited and pleased to know we have someone who cares for our fur baby as much as we do. Thank youuuuu again and again Ms Evlin. You’re PAWSOME 🐾”

“Amazing first Rover experience with Natasha! She met us and our Sadie Bug first on a virtual meet and greet, which we really appreciated. She accommodated us with drop off and pick up times that worked for my husband, as I was already in another state. She sent pictures and text messages to keep us informed and let us see that Sadie Bug was doing well. When my was loading Sadie’s belongings into the car at pickup, Sadie was happy in Natasha’s arms. That told me everything! 100% recommend this wonderful person! ❤️”

“Canine Comradery & Intensive Care Our energetic boxer, Tess, is a “social butterfly”. Since she is an “only dog” at home, she loves staying with Emily because she gets to live with a pack of dogs, including multiple visitors sometimes. Her dogs are veteran hosts to a plethora of dogs from all walks of life. When we are out of town enjoying a different kind of living, so does Tess … at Emily’s. Our dog could not be happier with us humans than she is with MJ, Bodaycious, Baby Girl, et cetera, et cetera. In addition to the experience and hospitality that Emily and her dogs provide, I appreciate her flexible schedule, ability to give more than adequate bathroom breaks, and her history of devotion to caring for dogs that need help the most.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Metairie
Our dog can be anxious around other dogs and has had some issues in the past, so we usually look for someone who has no animals of their own and only takes one client at a time. Being a last minute booking, there really wasn't anyone else available so we took a chance with Stella knowing she has a cat and we were unsure of how Obi would do with that. I was honest with Stella about Obi's past and uncertainty about how he would react to a cat, so we arranged a meet up to see how the animals would do. After meeting her and her cat, we both felt comfortable to move forward with the booking. During the the 3 days we were gone, Stella was super responsive and sent regular updates including photos. Although our dog and her cat did not end up being couch cuddlers, they kept a respectful distance and Stella was very observant and responsible, making sure to supervise them and keep everyone happy and safely apart. We would definitely use Stella again! We were able to enjoy our family getaway and not worry about our fur baby. Thank you Stella!

Erin was absolutely amazing! She went above and beyond with communication throughout the whole process confirming booking, offering to pickup instead of me doing drop off, sending pictures and videos. This was my first time leaving my kitten and Erin made the process WAY easier and smoother than I could’ve imagined. I will definitely use her again!

Bernadette has been nothing but wonderful with my beagle. He has severe separation anxiety, and she always takes the time and care to make sure he feels comfortable and at ease. I’ve used her services a couple of times now and will definitely continue to do so. Her communication is excellent—she provides regular updates, photos, and details about Hank’s walks, which gives me great peace of mind while I’m away. I highly recommend Bernadette to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and attentive dog sitter.

Siraaj treated my pup like she was her own. It’s clear she really cares about providing quality care and attention to the dogs that she sits. She consistently sent video and picture updates throughout my dog’s stay. Definitely will be requesting her next time I need a pet sitter.
Olena, Anya and Francesca took great care of Lotus! I was sent pictures and videos throughout her stay and she looked very happy and comfortable. I have never seen her actively play with other dogs, but she was having fun with their corgi. I will be booking with them again!

Julia is the absolute best! With very short notice, she was willing to take in my dog for a medical emergency and cared for her with above and beyond being an understatement. I recommend her for the care of your dogs. She sends photos, gives updates, asks questions, and truly loves them! Such a terrific person all around.

Beth was a great sitter. She agreed to a last minute dog sit after a quick "meet and greet". I was happy to have the meet and greet, since I had cautioned her that our 86 pound puppy was very, very, energetic and loved to jump on people. After meting Hank, she accepted the challenge. Hank came back from the 2 night stay happy and tired. Charlie, Beth's small dog, was a great playmate for Hank. I will be using Beth again

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in LA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
