“Couldn’t have been a better experience with Sara. Excellent, super responsive communication. Went above and beyond with our cat to notice he had a lil scratch from a previous neighborhood tussle and applied some ointment for us while we were out of state. Contacted us/emergency contact etc. sent great pics and updates. Would rate higher than 5 stars if I could!!”

“Cece is very sweet. She followed all of my directions and took care of our kittens while we were briefly out of town. She also managed to impress our one kitten who is apprehensive of strangers. She sent pictures which we greatly appreciated. Thank you again!”

“Danielle was amazing and truly went above and beyond when taking care of my three cats! Super fast communication, sent lots of pictures, and very thorough!! It was a relief to know they were in such great hands while we were away. Highly recommend!”

“Wayne was incredibly helpful with taking care of our rabbits and dog! He was proactive about asking if they needed medication (which they did) and a strong communicator about timing. Thank you again!”

“Shannon did a great job with my dog! She was happy when I got home from work. The pictures made my day while I was at work. Will definitely use Shannon again in the near future”

About: I’ve been pet sitting for 3 years and I also work at a doggy day care. I’m very comfortable and experienced with handling a lot of dogs at once, as well as different sizes, ages, breeds and temperaments. I also have experience caring for sick or injured dogs. On top of dogs, I have experience caring for cats, birds and reptiles. I am currently finishing my psychology degree, and then moving on to my veterinary technician degree. My dream is to work with animals, and I’m eager for more experience to grow my resume! I work Tuesday-Friday, with Thursday and Friday being my longer shifts (8 hours). If your dog is okay being alone for that period of time, or if you only need me for one night, I am completely willing to board those nights! If not, I am completely available the whole day Saturday-Monday. Most of my dog sitting experience has been dog and house sitting in the clients home. I am a very clean and respectful guest, and I feel being at home makes it easier on the dogs when their parents are gone. Being in an unfamiliar place with a person they don’t know can be stressful, overstimulating and anxiety inducing for many dogs. My biggest priority is not only the safety and health but the happiness of the dogs I watch.
About: As the mother of a 4 year old neutered Dalmatian and as a Veterinary Technician I come with the knowledge of wellness and emergency care as well as the exercise needs of your baby! You have a puppy or kitten that wants to play all day long ? No problem! I can teach him/her some basic training/tricks such as sit, stay, and the command “drop it” for safety reasons! (It can be both English and Spanish since I’m fluent on both languages!). You have a senior dog/cat that prefers to cuddle and sleep all day, and also needs medications and/or injections? I specialize in senior care! I am flexible regardless of age and breed! I can administer medication based on your preference and needs of your pet as well as feed and provide water as needed! My goal is to help your pet feel loved and at peace while you as the owner, get to have peace of mind with who your pet is with! *I provide a smoke, alcohol, and drug free home as well as a play mate if necessary for your dog!* *If your dog or cat is not dog friendly that’s no problem for boarding at my home! Both my dog and your pet can be separated upon request!* I have an open schedule throughout the week based on your needs as a client and the needs of your pet regardless of the time in the day! I provide a peaceful and quiet environment that fits perfect for an anxious pet but also a fenced backyard where your dog can run around for as long as they’ll like! I’m flexible for your needs and requests!

About: I am an employee of the Cat Hospital of Media as a Veterinary Assistant as well as a Pre-Vet student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I have two dogs of my own, a bunny, a bearded dragon, and I love to care for my friends and family’s animals At any time Monday, after 4:30 Tuesday-Friday, any time on the weekend. Pet care at home could fall at any hour of the day, as mine are very active I assure all pets are attended to and enriched, spending time with them as well as respecting their space. Appreciating each animal’s unique character is important
“Extremely reliable and communicative! My dog has anxiety when we leave. Jeff went above and beyond to make her as comfortable as possible including staying at our house overnight and additional check-ins during the day. I would recommend Jeff to everyone looking for a safe, reliable person for their pets.”

About: I have experience caring for both cats and dogs, including my own cat, Winston, and my family’s Great Pyrenees. My responsibilities have included feeding, walking, litter box care, playtime, and maintaining daily routines. I also grew up with a cat who had cerebellar hypoplasia, which taught me how to provide care tailored to special needs pets. I am a full-time law student, so my schedule varies slightly week to week depending on classes and academic commitments. I have a flexible routine and am generally available for pet care in the mornings, evenings, and on weekends. I’m especially well-suited for drop-in visits and dog walking. I prioritize safety, trust, and clear communication in every visit. I follow all care instructions closely, supervise pets at all times, and treat your home with respect. I also provide regular updates so you know your pet is safe and well cared for.
“Alexis is so sweet with our old beagle and is very reliable! She communicated well and I felt very comfortable with her watching our dog while we were out of town. Highly recommend!”

“Elizabeth was fantastic with my two cats, Roxie and Stormie! She was so patient with our skittish girl, Stormie, and still gave plenty of love and attention to Roxie. I will definitely be booking her for future visits!”

“Molly was amazing! Went to Jersey shore for 2 weeks and she handled EVERYTHING! Feedings, extra walks, picking up the mail… she was above and beyond. Great at communicating and lots of photos and details. Always on time. So responsible and mature.”

“Emily was so phenomenal in her communication to me and made sure to play with the cats and give them love. She greatly decreased the anxiety I had leaving them and I couldn't vouch for her more !!”

About: I have had dogs my entire life. A black lab was my first nanny, and I have baby photos of me sharing my food from my high chair. Friends and family have always relied on me to pet sit their pups when away, and I have both had senior dogs and taken care of friend’s seniors. I’d love to help take care of your fur babies! I work at a school during the day, but during the summer I am available before 8am and after 2:30pm M-Th, with open availability Fri-Sun. I will discuss needs and safety with clients in advance. I am happy to come to your home and follow any instructions you have to keep everyone secure and content.
“Melissa has been flexible and supportive when caring for my puppy! She's been thoughtful in suggesting ideas to help Toffee be more comfortable alone (she's not used to my schedule of going back to the office a few days a week yet). I appreciate the ease of mind she provides when I can't be home with my cutie.”

“She is the first cat sitter we’ve ever had that managed to see, feed, and pet one of our cats who is terrified of everyone except me and my husband. As a consequence, she is the best cat sitter we’ve ever had!”

“She did an excellent job taking care of my 2 cats. They were happy with her for every visit and always gave me updates, she seems to take great care for both of them and I would love to make her my cat sitter again!”

Ashley was an impeccable sitter for my kitties while I was travelling for 2 weeks and if you’re looking for a pet sitter, no need to look any further. I would 100% recommend her! I had a last-minute change of plans and she was super accommodating. She did a phenomenal job bonding with and taking care of my cats and you can tell she really cares. She also sent pictures and updates which was really helpful while I was so far away.

Thank you so much for taking such good care of Lulu!!! And I’m so sorry about the trouble with her, although we were laughing our heads off about that!! You went above and beyond for cleaning up and everything, you really didn’t have to do all that but thank you we so appreciate it!!! Hope to have you back again many more times if you’re willing to put up with her haha!! She is happy and purring now so I know she was well taken care of even if she didn’t show it!

Jae was absolutely amazing! Carol warmed up to her immediately, and I could tell she really enjoyed spending time with Jae, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Jae was responsive, thoughtful, and kept me updated with great photos and messages throughout every visit. She spent quality time playing with Carol and made sure everything was taken care of. I felt completely at ease knowing Carol was in such caring and trustworthy hands. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional cat sitter!

Amanda was wonderful with my fickle, sassy cat! Attentive to her preferences and boundaries. My cat clearly felt secure because by the end of the week she was following Amanda around and requesting head rubs. I will absolutely hire Amanda again next time I’m out of town. It was a great comfort and relief to know someone experienced and reliable was checking in. Thank you!!

Julia was a pleasure to have as a sitter for our cats! This was our first time using Rover, and Julia made the process super simple and easy for us. She took good care of our cats while we were away, and gave us great picture updates every day so we could see what the cats were up to. We would book again with Julia without hesitation!

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Merion Station. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
