About: I grew up with cats and dogs and love nothing more than to give fur babies my undivided attention! Since moving to Washington 5 years ago, I’ve been caring for friends/neighbors' pets, taking them on walks, feeding them, playing, and watching them while they are out of town. I just adopted my own mixed pup from Seattle Humane in April; let me spoil your sweet kitties and pups! I can work from home most days, and set my own schedule for the most part, so I am able to take short breaks to take pets on walks or work from another home to make sure the pup or kitty isn't alone for extended periods of time. I imagine pet care fitting easily into the days I work from home. I don't currently have any pets in my home. When it comes to pet sitting, I always make sure to open the door slowly if the pet is loose in the house. I let the pet sniff my hand before attempting to touch them, and give them space if they don't seem to want to interact with me. When it comes to walking, I don't walk with headphones in to make sure I can hear what else is going on nearby. I wouldn't take them near spaces where I know there are likely to be other dogs unless that is requested.

About: I grew up on a farm in Kansas, where we had a dozen dogs of various breeds, ages and temperaments. About half were family pets and the other half were bred and trained for bird hunting. I picked up on how to train dogs rather quickly. As an adult I’ve personally owned and trained from puppies a Shiba Inu and a German Shepherd. We have in the last year adopted a 2-year old Pitt Bull / Weimaraner mix who is now a trained service animal, very sweet and gentle with his small animal friends. I’m currently working from home 5 days a week. I have plenty of time and flexibility to go for walks and take breaks as often as needed. I also have 2 older children: aged 15 and 19. They would love to play and keep your furbaby entertained during their stay with us. I have a fully fenced yard where your dog can bask in the sunshine or take a quick bathroom break. We live close to a fenced off-leash park that provides a large grassy, open area to play fetch. When we have guests, we treat them like family and allow them on the furniture, unless of course you provide direction to reinforce your house rules. We understand the importance of not breaking routine when it comes to training.

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
