Currently I consult under the name The Idea Hound, so my schedule is flexible both during the week and on weekends, depending on previously scheduled time with the dachshund club.

Safety, trust & environment
I am currently only walking dogs but may consider staying in your home if needed once I get to know you and your pet. I’m extra conscious of pet safety (closing doors, leashing), and clean up after both of us whenever necessary.
Information Beth H. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know what your dog doesn’t like! Some pups are afraid of loud noises, roads, wheels (like skateboards and strollers), or don’t like other animals. These things are helpful for me to know before we head out on a walk! I’d also love to know if they are in training currently or know commands. Any special needs would be great to know about as well.
A typical day
I’m a big fan of walking in nature whenever I can, urban parks are especially a favorite. The last several years I’ve also been studying enrichment activities and I even make snuffle mats for doggie friends! Since I trained my own dogs for so long I also know how to make training activities fun.

Fun, Reliable, Dog-inspired!
Pet care experience
I grew up with a standard dachshund and owned two in my adult life. My dogs trained 2 years to achieve their Canine Good Citizen certifications, and I continue to use those skills with doggie friends. I co-organize a large dachshund club where I lead walks and gatherings every month, and have belonged to the club since it’s inception in 2006. Though I especially love hounds, I enjoy all breeds from puppies to seniors. I’m well-versed in IVDD and kidney disease in dogs as a result of managing both issues with my own pups. I won’t walk your dogs with others (aside from a doggie sibling) unless you request it and I won’t be distracted by earbuds or my phone, your pup gets my full attention.
Reviews

Beth is reliable and such an easy person to work with! We appreciate her weekly walks with Pickles

Beth is the best! She’s easy to communicate with and loves our Pickles. She always leaves great notes and pictures.

Always great!

Thanks for the fun walks, great reports, and the love shared with our pups. It was great knowing they had exercise and sniffs each day while we were away!
