“Sydney was a SUPERSTAR!! Very thorough and loving with my babies. When I got home I could tell they were happy to see me but definitely given time and attention while I was away. I am looking forward to booking Sydney again in the future. Such a vibrant and compassionate person!”

“I requested a drop-in very last minute and Ericka was more than willing to come drop-in on my two dogs. She was prompted and very detailed throughout the drop-in. I appreciate her and her son being very patient with my Chihuahua as he’s very skittish with new people. Would definitely recommend Ericka and book with her again.”

“Jaclyn was punctual, attentive, and so kind to our animals (2 cats, 1 dog. And a turtle). Her updates kept me feeling good about our choice, as this was the first time our dog stayed home over a vacation (we used to just kennel, and he can be alot). She loved on our kitties and played with our pup to help his energetic self happy, she even hand fed him when he protested by not eating. Will definitely use again!”

“Jonai did an incredible job with my two pups! She was on time, and went over and above for the drop ins. She fed them, played with them, and I got so many cute pictures! My dogs can’t wait til Jonai comes back to play! Thanks so much!! This was my first time using Rover and it will not be the last- thanks Jonai for making this a great experience for us! You will definitely be my “go to” sitter!”

“Lucy went above and beyond what I expected. My kitties were very upset I left and would hide under my bed when she showed up, but she made sure they had fresh food and water, even crawled on the floor and sent me pictures of them daily. I will definitely use her again.”

“Samantha will be the only one I trust to watch my gunner moving forward. I genuinely felt she loved my boy just as much as I did and gunner must of felt it because he loved her immediately. This was my first time using anything outside of boarding and as long as she is available this will be my first option moving forward.”

“Blake did a great job taking care of our 3 cats, cleaning up after them, and sending us cute photos and videos while we were out of town. Even when we were unreachable with no cell service, Blake took care of things here. We are so glad we hired her to take care of our fur babies and will definitely be calling her again!”

“Britney is absolutely amazing. Sends photos and fun updates after each visit and is a great communicator. She even did something special for our girl as it was her birthday the day we came back home. Thank you Britney for everything!!”

About: I have been taking care of dogs and my own pet for a little over seven years now. I am most experienced with senior dogs, as most of my friends and family have older dogs with plenty of extra needs. I have fostered puppies for a few years now, and I am very well-versed in potty-training puppies as well! I currently have a full time job, Monday through Friday 8-5pm, some Saturdays 8-12pm and off on Sundays. I will be available to care for your pets in their own environment and safe place so they can feel comfortably in their own space and keep their same routine. I have a large, fenced backyard free of any harmful plants for my dog. Plenty of toys, a neighborhood perfect for walking, practicing leash training, and ample space for my pet to relax and play! I adhere to a schedule, whether it’s for my own or for my client, and I am very strict about it unless there is room for extra time depending on the dog’s mood/behavior. Very energetic, so your dog will receive proper exercise, attention, and so much love in my presence!
About: I've taken care of multiple types of dogs from an early age. I also used to have a dog named Gary (my brother named him from SpongeBob) when I was younger, but my mom couldn't afford him anymore. During school breaks, pet care fits very easily into my routine because I have a much more open and flexible schedule. I’m able to prioritize regular feedings, walks, playtime, and check-ins throughout the day without time constraints from classes. This allows me to give pets plenty of attention, maintain their routines, and be fully present while caring for them. I think that it's important to spend quality time with pets, whether that's going on a walk or spending time at the park. And also just following the pet owner's instructions as well as understanding their routine.
“The meet and greet with Sara went very well. We went over the instructions we had left on the website. She understood those and asked even more questions that we did not think of. After the appointment, we were comfortable letting Sara in our home to care for our pets. She kept us updated on our pets and included photographs. We could text Sara via the Rover number and she would respond in a timely manner. This was the first time we used Sara and it went so well that we booked her again within two weeks. Thanks Sara!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and love getting to know every pup’s unique personality! I’m experienced in basic training and provide loving, attentive care. I’m deaf and use American Sign Language to communicate, but I can speak a little too—your pets will always be in patient, understanding hands 💛 My schedule for summer is super flexible and I will be able to have plenty of time to give your fur babies the best experience of their life 😆 I love hanging out and giving the cuddles! Starting Aug 4th, I will be working from 7:30am to 4pm on Mondays to Fridays since school is back in session now! Meanwhile I will be free during school breaks such as spring break, fall break, Thanksgiving break/Christmas break. I am happy to housesit your place which means I can come and stay at your place to take care of your fur kiddos! Just need to be aware that I will have to step out sometimes to take care of my own fur kiddos and sometimes will have shifts to work. I always make sure to take care of the animals first before I head out.
“Thank you, Melanie! Melanie is reliable, trustworthy and a great dog sitter. I love seeing the photos she takes because my dogs have big huge grins on their faces. I know they’re genuinely happy to see her and trust her like we do. This gives us so much peace of mind when we can’t be home. We are so grateful for her services.”

“Mia took care of my 4 month old puppy and 8 year old dog. She ensured that their needs were met and went above and beyond to care for them. She communicated efficiently and made sure to update me after her visit.”

Sydney was awesome! She asked questions to make sure our cat was getting the best care and was extremely attentive to our cat’s needs. She completed care that we didn’t even ask her to do because that’s how thorough and thoughtful she is! We will definitely be booking with Sydney again. Our cat wasn’t even mad we left, haha

Lucy went above and beyond what I expected. My kitties were very upset I left and would hide under my bed when she showed up, but she made sure they had fresh food and water, even crawled on the floor and sent me pictures of them daily. I will definitely use her again.

Amelia was amazing with my two cats, Milo and Bella. She took great care of them by feeding them, cleaning the litter box, and spending time playing with them, which really put my mind at ease while I was away. One of my cats is very shy and I left specific instructions for how to handle that, and Amelia followed everything perfectly. It was clear she was attentive, patient, and truly cared about my pets. I would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful pet sitter.

Vanessa did a great job taking care of our cats Bova and Cosmo. Food and litter box were well maintained through out our vacation. She took some time to comb them too. One of my cats is very sceptical and actually warmed up to her after several days and started making appearance. Would highly recommend her to take care of your fur babies.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in McKinney. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
