“Lindsey was everything we could hope for in a sitter for our first time using one. Peanut was not ready for boarding. He is slow to warm up. She was extra patient with him and spent extra time the 1st day. He was warming up much better each day. He had a couple of accidents and she helped clean it up. She did not have to be as caring as she was, but we are most grateful and will continue to call on her. Thank you for everything Lindsey! We could tell Peanut really appreciated your visits.”

“Ashley is so sweet and kind and took great care with my baby Rico. She came daily on schedule to feed water and play with Rico. She took care of his litter box and hung out with him. She sent me great pictures and Rico looked very happy. I would definitely recommend Ashley to anyone that has a fur baby. She even left a very thoughtful note and treats to welcome me home!! A+++. Loved her!! Thank you Ashley💖”

“Courtney did an amazing job with our girls during the drop in visits at our home! She followed our instructions carefully, kept us updated on how they were doing, and always sent photos and Rover cards after each visit. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing the girls were in great hands. We would definitely book with her again!”

“Kellie was so communicative with us and attentive to my dogs - we are so grateful for wonderful care for them while we were gone! Leading up to her time with our dogs she reached out to confirm and even requested time in advance to meet them and understand the lay of the land before we left.”

“Madison did a amazing job with our dogs, she always on time and the dogs love her. We will book another session with her on the near future. If you looking a new pets sitter Madison is the best!!”

About: I have owned pets (dogs, cats, birds, horses, chickens) for my entire life. I got my first horse at 10 years old, and my parents own a horseback riding stable where I have helped care for healthy, sick and injured horses, dogs and cats for the past 45 years. I have pet sat as a teen and as a trusted neighbor more recently. I currently have a 15-year-old Pyrenees mix named Honey and daily care for 35 horses. I am calm in emergencies and very reliable. I am confident administering medicine and other pet care needs. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule. I would be able to support a majority of needs for any clients that use my services. I am a mature, reliable and very capable person as I migrate to semi-retirement, I am looking for a side income where I can earn money doing something that I enjoy. I love animals and truly enjoy taking care of them.
About: I’m reliable, genuine, thorough & caring. I’ve volunteered with several organizations ranging from visiting with dogs in the shelter to visiting with hospice patients to working with international development organizations. Offering a helping hand is at the core of who I am so your pet friend will be in good care with me! :) I’m currently working part-time in the arts so I have plenty of time to play with your pup! I’m available weekends as well and will be happy to work with your schedule. I will introduce myself to your pup gently and humbly, take them out to relieve themselves and let them stretch their legs and explore enough to refresh their spirits :)
“Incredible pet sitter. She even solves problems that have nothing to do with pet sitting. Seriously, this is the lady you want watching your pets. They are in the best hands!”

“Joe was a lifesaver. Was able to take a last second trip, but no immediate friends were available to watch my dog. Joe was available and throughout the whole process, was kind, responsive, respectful and was completely caring and supportive for my dog and her needs. Highly recommend and will request again very soon!”

“I can’t say enough great things about Jaclyn. We decided to hire her for our crazy Great Pyrenees and all of our indoor cats. She was very punctual and we returned home to very happy babies. I had initially asked her to provide photos of them and she sent me photos of individual pet with every visit!! On top of that, she also spent quality time with them for their mental stimulation. We will hire her again and recommend her to all the anxious mothers who hate to be away from their furbabies. Thanks to her, we were able to spend some time away from home with ease of mind 🥰”

“Daniela was absolutely amazing with our dogs! Our biggest, most anxious dog was immediately comfortable with her! She sent great pictures, kept us updated, and was more than willing to accommodate our changing schedule. She gave our pups an extra treat on national dog day to make them feel special! Will definitely use her in the future!”

“Calvin and his wife were absolutely fantastic. They took excellent care of my little fur baby for four days. I’ll definitely be using their services again, and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of pet care.”

About: My favorite way to spend my day is going on long walk with my dog Otis and having a lazy day with my cat Mable afterwards. I would love to be able to take care of your pets while you are at work or out of town! I work full time remotely and I am a mom! I'm always home so I can easily check in on your pets during my work day. I'm currently working full-time, fully remote. I already have the time to go on daily walks with my dog. I am available to go for walks in the morning, lunchtime, and in the evenings. I would love to have your dog join my daily walks!! Also, I am available in the morning and evenings to do drop-ins. In the mornings, I am available 7:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. In the evening, I am available from 5-8 p.m. Unfortunately, I do not offer boarding at my home at this time. I have a newborn so I cannot have extra pets around at this moment.
About: I’ve been an animal lover my entire life. Growing up on a farm, I was constantly surrounded by animals and learned early on how to care for them with patience and compassion. Since I was five, I’ve had dogs and cats, rescued and bottle-fed baby kittens, trained countless puppies, and even had a hedgehog at one point! I currently have two dogs and a puppy of my own, and I also help my dad care for his dog when he’s out of town—walking her, bathing her, and treating her like she’s part of my own pack. Every animal I care for gets the same level of love and attention as if they were my own. Whether it's senior dogs needing a slower pace or high-energy pups who love to play, I tailor my care to each pet’s needs to make sure they feel safe, happy, and at home. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I have the flexibility to work from home or anywhere when needed. I’m off nights and weekends, and I’m also able to step away during the day for morning walks, midday check-ins, or drop-in visits. Whether it's a quick potty break, playtime, or some extra cuddles, I can easily adjust my schedule to fit your pet’s needs. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or visiting yours, their comfort and safety always come first. I create a calm, loving environment and make sure to follow your routines as closely as possible—whether that means sticking to a feeding schedule, daily walks, or bedtime habits. In your home, I treat your space with the utmost respect and make sure your pet feels safe and cared for in their familiar surroundings. I'm attentive to details, keep things clean, and always double-check that doors, gates, and crates are secure. If I’m hosting in my home, your pet will have a peaceful space to relax, play, and feel right at home—away from chaos and stress. Building trust with both pets and their people is important to me, and I’m always happy to provide updates, photos, or answer questions so you feel at ease while you’re away.
“Amanda was excellent! I would hire her again in a heartbeat. She was excellent with her pups and very good at communicating updates and information to us while we were out of town.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lucas. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
