“Lindsey was everything we could hope for in a sitter for our first time using one. Peanut was not ready for boarding. He is slow to warm up. She was extra patient with him and spent extra time the 1st day. He was warming up much better each day. He had a couple of accidents and she helped clean it up. She did not have to be as caring as she was, but we are most grateful and will continue to call on her. Thank you for everything Lindsey! We could tell Peanut really appreciated your visits.”

“Ashley is so sweet and kind and took great care with my baby Rico. She came daily on schedule to feed water and play with Rico. She took care of his litter box and hung out with him. She sent me great pictures and Rico looked very happy. I would definitely recommend Ashley to anyone that has a fur baby. She even left a very thoughtful note and treats to welcome me home!! A+++. Loved her!! Thank you Ashley💖”

About: I have years of experience caring for dogs and always treat every pet like my own. I’m reliable, follow care instructions carefully, and prioritize each pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness. I work full-time Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with Allen ISD and part-time at HEB on Sundays from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. My part-time schedule is flexible and can be adjusted for bookings when needed. I offer house sitting in the client’s home, where I stay overnight and care for your pets in their familiar environment. During house sitting stays, I follow your pet’s normal routine including feeding, walks, playtime, and companionship. On weekdays, I may be away during work hours (8 AM–4 PM), but I return immediately after work to continue care and maintain consistency for your pets. I also provide regular updates and photos so you always know how things are going. Service Areas: Allen, McKinney, and Plano I’m committed to keeping your pets comfortable, safe, and cared for while you’re away. I care for pets in the client’s home where they feel most comfortable and secure. I follow each pet’s normal routine closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions provided by the owner. I make sure doors, gates, and crates are always secured, and I double-check all entry points to keep pets safe at all times. I also monitor pets closely for behavior changes, stress, or health concerns and will immediately communicate with the owner if anything seems unusual. If the home has a fenced yard, I use it for safe outdoor time and supervised play. When outside, pets are always monitored and never left unattended. I treat every home with respect, keeping it clean and following all house rules. My goal is to provide a calm, reliable, and trustworthy environment so both pets and owners feel completely at ease.

“Kellie was so communicative with us and attentive to my dogs - we are so grateful for wonderful care for them while we were gone! Leading up to her time with our dogs she reached out to confirm and even requested time in advance to meet them and understand the lay of the land before we left.”

About: I’ve had cats, dogs, bunnies, chickens, etc. my entire life, I’d like to say that I have my whole life’s worth of experience with pets, being that I have had them since before I could walk:)) I’m currently going to community college part-time, usually based in the mornings but can change. Other than school I am always free to do the job!! I will give your pets plenty of love and cuddles while also adapting to their daily needs and activities. I can even brush your dogs’ teeth if you’d like.

“Courtney did an amazing job with our girls during the drop in visits at our home! She followed our instructions carefully, kept us updated on how they were doing, and always sent photos and Rover cards after each visit. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing the girls were in great hands. We would definitely book with her again!”

“Lizzie took such good care of our two pups while we were on vacation. We have never left them for more than 4 hours, so being away for a week was a very fearful concern. Ollie and Opie feel in love with Lizzie and we really enjoyed the pictures from her visits. We will definitely reach out to Lizzie next time. Thank you Lizzie”

I treat every pet like they’re my own, giving them plenty of love, playtime, and comfort so you can relax knowing they’re in great hands. 🐾💗 I am a high school senior heavily involved in band. I can come in the afternoon after 4. On weekends when I’m in town I am flexible! During each visit, I can take your pet on walks, let them outside for bathroom breaks, feed them according to their routine, and spend time playing so they stay happy, active, and comfortable while you’re away. 🐾
“Jaclyn was punctual, attentive, and so kind to our animals (2 cats, 1 dog. And a turtle). Her updates kept me feeling good about our choice, as this was the first time our dog stayed home over a vacation (we used to just kennel, and he can be alot). She loved on our kitties and played with our pup to help his energetic self happy, she even hand fed him when he protested by not eating. Will definitely use again!”

“So grateful I found Joe! My new cat had never been left alone and I refused to board him. I was nervous and wasn’t sure how’d he handle another big change in schedule so soon. Joe made me far more comfortable, he was always on time, my cat even went to the front door around the time Joe would come so he was obviously comfortable as well. I will absolutely be asking him back when needed.”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lucas. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
