“Sydney was amazing! You can tell as soon as you walk through her door that her heart belongs to animals. I was so nervous leaving my old man with a stranger for the first time. But I got updates daily. He got to go on walks and get lots of love and attention. I picked him up and he was brushed and smiling. I am so happy with Sydney's service.”

“We are so lucky to have found Heather! She gives daily updates of our pets and sends videos and pictures, which makes our time away a lot less difficult. She truly cares about our pets!”

“Debbie watched my dogs for three weeks while I was in the middle of moving out of state. My older dog wasn’t doing well, and my younger dog has tons of energy—I didn’t want to stress either of them with all the commotion of the move. Debbie is such an amazing sitter. She took them for several walks a day around the beautiful lake near her home and along some great neighborhood trails. Freya absolutely loved it there. When Odin started getting sick, she didn’t hesitate to help—she took him to the vet for me and cared for my sweet boy until I was able to pick him up a few days later. I’m so grateful for the love and attention she gave my fur babies. Thank you so much, Debbie. You are truly amazing. I highly recommend this sitter!”
“Paul and Kelly (and kids) did a great job caring for our puppies. When we arrived for pickup, our puppies were happy and energetic. Paul and Kelly were very receptive to following our dogs’ schedules. We will definitely take them back to Paul, Kelly and the kids!”

“Daisy was the happiest I've ever seen her with someone else taking care of her. Emily is a treasure that I found. I'll be using her often. Thank you Emily! And her dogs were awesome with Daisy!”

“Chris took great care of our Vizsla, Kona. He gave us daily updates and pictures and walked her regularly. Just before drop off Kona had an unexpected trip to the vet due to a potential ear infection. When we brought the meds at drop off for him to administer for the week, he was very accommodating and gave them to her each day. We would definitely use Chris again!”

“Once again Cooper enjoyed his stay with Josie over Memorial Day Weekend. Josie is always responsive providing updates and sending many pictures. We know Cooper is in good hands when we are away. Looking forward to booking again soon!”

“Kaity and family made the process very smooth. It was great to have a meet and greet in advance as well. I appreciated her quick responses to my messages, as well as having Zoey so warmly welcomed in her home. This is our first time using Rover for care and we will definitely do so again.”

“Marcia was an exceptional dog sitter during my time away. She consistently provided updates, sharing pictures of my dogs throughout the day. Her flexibility in accommodating various aspects of their stay was greatly appreciated. Marcia's kindness and attentiveness were evident, and she kept me well-informed at all times. My two pups were thoroughly worn out from playing with her and her dog, which speaks to the level of care and attention they received. I highly recommend Marcia for any pet sitting needs!”

“Krystal is wonderful with dogs and very understanding of their different quirks. She was able to help me out last minute over the Christmas holiday and I couldn’t be more thankful. I would definitely recommend her.”

About: I’ve had animals my entire life. My real passion is dogs and I’m focused on dog sitting/boarding/daycare, but I’m happy to take care of cats and drop in for other animals. I have owner trained one at home service dog and am in the process of owner training a public access service dog. I have two yellow labs (one bench, one field), a mixed breed rescue, and a cat. All my animals are very animal friendly. My big lab does take a noisy minute to adjust, but he’s a big sweetheart once he’s got the lay of the land. I have a yard with a living fence and a wooded property where the dogs can be walked if needed. I am home full time and just becoming an empty nester, so I have plenty of time and attention to devote to our furry friends. Most days it will just be me and the animals on our wooded property so there’s plenty of time and room for relaxation and play. I have a fairly large fenced yard and wooded surrounding property. My home is laid back and the animals are treated like family. They are welcome on furniture and have plenty of room to play and toys to play with. I just ask they be on tick and heartworm prevention as there are many bugs in the woods. I have regular experience with basic grooming and administering meds. I have crates available if needed or preferred. I’ll do my best to care for them as you want.
About: I’ve taken care of animals for several years for several families and love it so much! I have two dogs and two cats of my own that I love so much! I have experience with all different types of dogs and even have to give an insulin shots everyday to one of the dogs I watch. Your furry friend will be in amazing care I have a very open schedule and available almost all the time. I’m a college student all online this semester so I’m home all the time to take care of your pets! I live in a house with a yard(not fenced) and live a mile away from a park and hiking trails if your pup would like that! I live in a nice neighborhood good for walks! And have two pups who are friendly with dogs and cats as well as two cats who are friendly!
“Reed and Natalie watched our dog, Maggie, and they were amazing! Sent us daily updates with pictures and videos and Maggie always looked so happy! We ran into travel issues returning home and they were very flexible with timing of picking her up and were even willing to watch her another night if needed. Highly recommend them!”

“Kari did a great job watching our Golden Retriever. She had great communication and sent plenty of pictures. I highly recommend her for your dog care needs. I will definitely be a returning customer.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
