Emily is loving, reliable and a great communicator. She kept me updated through texts and pictures. My Boston Terrier has unique medical needs and Emily was willing to take the challenge. Tucker thrived while in her care. Emily not only cares for your pet but delivers tender, loving care. She will be my first choice for all pet “babysitting “.

Leigh Anne is quick to respond to questions and even though she was boarding several dogs at the same time, she was able to speak to specifically how my dog did over the weekend and how he faired with food, water, interactions, etc. Between her home and her larged fenced backyard, my dog was able to roam about and also had enough room to find areas to get away from doggie chaos (he's older and not big on interacting with dogs). Overall it was a very good experience!

About: I have a Belgian Malanois who’s name is Beau. He is an Extremely passionate and caring dog with a high drive to learn. I have put In the time and effort to train and build our relationship as a family. I also have a Golden retriever and she couldn’t care less about anything other than love haha. I have a full time job, which ends at 2:00pm. From 2:00pm until bed I spend with my dog whether it be training, or walking. I spend a minimum of 2 hours a day training with Beau. I believe that your dog can fit right in and be in a comfortable, safe, home away from home. I do not have a fenced in yard yet but I’m outside every time my pups go out. If need be, I have leashes I can use to let your pup outside as well.

We had an amazing experience with Dez and Nick! They are incredibly caring and patient, which was so important for us since Chico is still potty training. He had a lot of fun and received so much love while we were away; it was also great for him to spend time with their dogs, Sandler and Nolly. We felt completely at ease knowing he was in such kind hands. Highly recommend!

My dog, Gabi, really enjoyed her time over there. Andrea was great at communicating over Gabi's care. Gabi seemed excited to see me but wasn’t scrambling to get home the way she has in the past with other pet sitters. Definitely would recommend Andrea if your dog likes kids.

Kyle watched both my dogs for a late spring break trip. I booked him a little last minute and he was readily available for help answering any questions or concerns before and after our booking. He even offered to meet up before to see how my dogs interacted with his. He sent me a few pictures and provided daily updates on their behavior. I would book him again.

Our dog is a full-fledged and much loved member of the family, and we felt very comfortable leaving her with Betty. I appreciated knowing that Betty is an experienced dog rescuer and caretaker. Her neighborhood and home were very nice. We loved receiving pictures and updates. Our dog often experiences stomach upset when stressed and she had none of that after staying with Betty! We definitely plan to have Lucy stay with her again. Highly recommended!!! :)

We love Kevin! This was the 3rd time our bernedoodle puppy stayed with him and he had just been neutered 3 days beforehand but we knew he would be in good hands. Kevin administered the medications and also followed all of the instructions as far as activity level and play. He even ended up having to use a baby gate to ensure safety! We are greatly appreciative of Kevin!

About: Lifetime pet owners of cats and dogs alike, Maeve and Jason have shared decades of pet-sitting duties for friends and family and all that entails from crate training to medication administration. We have flexible schedules, reliable transportation with dog seatbelts, a large wrap around fully fenced-in yard, and several forested acres with private nature trails to share with your best friend. Maeve is a WFH graphic designer and Jason is a self-employed carpenter living with our two sweet velcro cavalier king charles spaniels — Cricket & Disco. We have very flexible schedules with lots of love and attention to spare. We can easily break away for walks and drop-ins. We live across from Eagle Lake with a large wraparound fully fenced-in yard overlooking 15 private forested acres with trails for leashed nature walks. We have oodles of experience walking, camping, hiking, swimming, and playing with dogs in all environments and elements. Crates and gates are available if your best friend needs their space, but everybody is allowed to make themselves at home. We have lots of cozy nooks and beds. We work to ensure smooth introductions.
Our home is very dog-friendly but to that end, kept very clean. We do tick checks and our girls are always up to date with their vaccinations and preventative meds. JIC, we have reliable transportation and are not far from Michiana Veterinary Hospital. We are also able to drive to your preferred vet.

Was in town for the weekend and my dog couldn’t stay with me at my hotel but it was fine because she was in great hands with Nicholas!! She is an Akita and she is a rescue so that can be a lot to handle but not for him: he even got her to socialize with his dog. So much so, that when I went to pick her up, they were still busy chasing each other around. Anyone who has dealt with a difficult breed or a rescue knows how much time is needed and I’m grateful!!Thanks again for helping out!

FAQs for Dog Boarding - South Bend

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Pet Boarding in South Bend on Rover is $42.8 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Pet Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Pet Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 154 sitters on Rover for Pet Boarding in South Bend. About 92% of South Bend sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in IN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
