“Due to some last-minute changes, I was later than expected on a fairly long trip to NC from KY and dog care was a key to making the weekend work. Meg was quick to reply and adapt to those changes. Really helped make the weekend trip to Bellermaine's graduation go well for us and I'm not sure we could have found a better place for Butterscotch to stay. Thank you very much.”

“Tina was great with our dog! Sent pictures and updates of our pet every day. Super flexible with our times of drop off & pick up. Highly recommend and will definitely use again!”

“Collin is amazing and I am so blessed that my kitty, Penny, was able to board with such a loving family. Much to my surprise, Penny and Collin's kitty, Nala, became BFFs and played together! Collin kept me updated on Penny and her stay with him and his family. Truly, there is no better sitter in Louisville for fur babies!”

“Dan was amazing ! I could tell by the pictures and videos that Neghan really enjoyed himself! He had a lot of walks and potty breaks. I would highly recommend Dan. She is outstanding !”

“Li was fantastic! I actually think our puppers was sad to come home after being so spoiled by Li and her family. We got regular updates, photos and videos of how he was doing that put us at ease. We are so thankful our pup had a home while we were away that cared for him as much as we do.”

“I was so anxious about leaving Lucy overnight with someone new. Oliver really seemed to understand and appreciate that. I got nice photos of Lucy hanging out and when I picked her up they invited her back even though she stole a hamburger. Oilver did a great job with Lucy who tends to be scared of new people but I could tell Lucy got great outside time, played with other dogs and was tired when she got home. I Wil Def. Recommend and bring Lucy back when I need someone again.”

“Thank you so much! This was our first experience using Rover and overall, it was a good one. Shunita was great and flexible in allowing us to come and pick them up at the end of our night so we didn’t need to leave them overnight. They were kept in kennels but Shunita said she lets them out every 2-3 hours to play in the back yard and go potty. Our puppies are on the larger size and not used to being kenneled or separated so, in the future, I will likely look for someone that allows them to join into a family atmosphere where they can roam & play freely. A smaller or older dog w/lower energy would do great, or a dog that’s used to being in a kennel. (That’s just a preference thing for the current puppies we have.) Shunita was very nice and made me feel relaxed and comfortable in leaving our puppies for the day.”

“Ian was amazing! He stayed in contact with us so we knew our baby was comfortable and happy. She is older, deaf, and not used to being alone since I work from home. He dealt with her laundry list of specific needs and never missed a beat. She made a new friend and we will be using him again if we ever have another need for extended care.”

“Missy was excellent with my girls. She was patient and loving, even during a stressful time. She was very flexible and accommodating with my weird scheduling needs for drop off and pickup as well. I definitely recommend her dog sitting services!”

About: We’ve taken care of our own and other’s pets our entire lives — and we know most people want this kind of experience for their pets. Whether at our home or yours, they’ll be just like family to us. I have 5 years experience working and volunteering in animal shelters, making me a great fit for anyone wanting a sitter who knows what they’re doing and is willing to go above and beyond. I am a remote worker, so I’ll be with your pets all day long! Taking care of animals is my passion, so your furry family is my primary focus. I work with old animals and young, calm animals and ones with their crazy pants on — so any challenge that is thrown, I will be able to handle. Pets are our children, and you can trust me with yours. I am also insured as a pet sitter, so you can have some additional peace of mind.
“I previously had boarded my dog before trying rover, and I will never go back. Angela was AMAZING! She took and shared lots of photos and updates while we were on vacation. Bruno loved playing with her dogs and kids, too! I would recommend her to anyone!”

“Stephanie is the best. Boone has a great time and is worn out when he gets home. She is responsive and accommodating. I definitely trust her with Boone!”

“Amanda was amazing with our 4 year old Vizsla. She treated her like a queen and helped our anxious dog feel right at home. I will definitely use Amanda again and can’t recommend her enough.”

“Ryo was fantastic with our Beagle, Maple. He was incredibly patient and kind and made our dog feel right at home. We would love to work with him again in the future!”

“I had to find a sitter last minute and so happy I was able to find Cody. He was a great sitter, kept me informed and very down to earth person. This was my first time going through an animal sitter service but I will definitely book again.. with Cody ❤️”

About: Hello! You can call me Wendy. I’m a tenured physics professor and a lifelong animal lover. I currently have three cats of my own and many years of experience caring for both cats and dogs. I have experience caring for senior pets and understand the importance of routines, medication schedules, and paying close attention to changes in behavior and health. I’m patient, reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to making every pet feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their family is away. For pets boarding in my home, I understand that some pets may be more comfortable having their own space. If you prefer, I can keep my three cats completely separate from your pet for the entire stay, so your pet can relax in a safe, quiet environment. As a professor, I bring professionalism, responsibility, and strong communication to every pet-sitting job. My schedule is especially flexible during evenings, weekends, holidays, and university breaks. Whether you need house sitting, drop-in visits, dog walking, feeding, litter box cleaning, or care for senior pets, I will treat your pets and home with the same care and respect I give my own.
“We found Sean to be very caring, professional and wonderful man. He took excellent care of our Silver lab, Boone. He took time to let us be a part of him introducing Boone to the other dog who was staying with him. He sent us photos and sent us updates. We will definitely be using Sean again when we travel. ❤️”

SO happy to have found Waverly and Jared! They took great care of my dog and she came home so happy. They are great communicators sending daily pictures and updates. I highly recommend them and we will definitely use them again! Gems including their sweet dog Topper! I can’t thank them enough for their wonderful care!

We had a great experience with Bill and couldn’t be happier with the care our dogs received! He was very reliable, communicative, and took great care of them while we were away, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. We really appreciated his help and would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their pets. We’ll definitely be reaching out again in the future! Thanks again!

Daniela was amazing! She updated us daily with pictures, kept us in the loop on activities and was always quick to respond. Our pooch came back in great spirits and may have even been a little sad to be home, hah! I can't recommend Daniela more highly, we will certainly work with her again.

Brooke did a wonderful job with my two fur baby. She sent lots of pictures, keeping me up to date with their active. She was also very flexible when I needed to alter drop off or pick up. She was very fast replying to all communications. I will definitely be using her again.

I booked with Patrick on short notice. He was exceptionally accommodating to my needs and my Rusty. Patrick sent daily pictures of my doggo and his friends playing and getting along. I was a little worried how it would go, but it was a good time. I was told when Patrick dropped off Rusty, he didn’t want to come home. So.. he must have made a lot of friends there. I will book again if the need arises. I highly recommend Patrick.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
