“Desiree was available for a last-minute booking and was able to accommodate my work schedule. I look forward to working with Desiree into the future! I have a high energy pup and I was nervous about him being with a new walker, but it seems like they got along really well.”

“Lauran was fantastic while I was visiting Louisville for the Kentucky Oaks and Derby weekend. Her communication was top notch, always quick to respond and kept me updated throughout the two days. I especially appreciated her flexibility when I needed to add an extra walk at the last minute, she was incredibly accommodating and handled it without any issues. It’s a huge relief to find someone so reliable and easy to work with when you're visiting another city for an event. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a professional and adaptable walker!”

“Taylor did amazing with our pets. Our pup is very dog reactive and Taylor used her extensive experience while navigating walks with her. She has quite a charm with animals. She even coaxed out our hermit cat. Taylor did a fabulous job communicating with us and keeping us updated. Would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and experienced Rover.”

“Justin was fantastic! He came to walk my Great Pyrenees, Boo, who can be reactive to other dogs on walks, and I immediately felt confident leaving him in Justin’s care. Before the walk, he took the time to ask questions. Justin was incredibly kind and patient with Boo, and it was obvious that Boo had a great time! He even came early in the morning to help us beat the summer heat, which I really appreciated. After their one hour walk, Boo came home happy, relaxed, and tired! I highly recommend Justin to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and knowledgeable dog walker. We’ll definitely be booking with him again!”

About: I have a genuine love for animals and I have been pet/house sitting for about 10 years. I have always had pets and been around all different kinds of animals. I just graduated from law school, I started my new job post law school. I do work in an office, but I am able to stop in and make sure your animal is taken care of. I live in an apartment so I would prefer to take care of a pet at your home. I am happy to walk a dog on a leash, let them out to play, play with them, take them to a dog park.
“Zane warmed up to Annie right away upon her visit. When we got home from being away all day, Zane was perfectly normal and he’s a dog who has had separation anxiety in the past. Great photos of Zane while she was walking him; he looked like he enjoyed the time.”

“Grace works patiently to gain the dog’s trust. Her questions demonstrate true care and concern. She ensures she is walking at the dog’s pace. Grace is professional, kind and considerate. I feel honored to have met her and trust her completely with my dog.”

“Lauren is amazing! I have two dogs, a senior and a puppy, that have different needs. She worked with me to plan their walks and communicated wonderfully. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend Lauren to help take care of your fur babies!!!”
About: Hello! You can call me Wendy. I’m a tenured physics professor and a lifelong animal lover. I currently have three cats of my own and many years of experience caring for both cats and dogs. I have experience caring for senior pets and understand the importance of routines, medication schedules, and paying close attention to changes in behavior and health. I’m patient, reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to making every pet feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their family is away. For pets boarding in my home, I understand that some pets may be more comfortable having their own space. If you prefer, I can keep my three cats completely separate from your pet for the entire stay, so your pet can relax in a safe, quiet environment. As a professor, I bring professionalism, responsibility, and strong communication to every pet-sitting job. My schedule is especially flexible during evenings, weekends, holidays, and university breaks. Whether you need house sitting, drop-in visits, dog walking, feeding, litter box cleaning, or care for senior pets, I will treat your pets and home with the same care and respect I give my own.

About: As a previously Licensed Veterinary Technician with more than 30 years of experience in veterinary medicine, I've cared for dogs of every breed, size, age, and personality—from energetic puppies to senior dogs with special medical needs. I'm comfortable administering oral and injectable medications, and I am familiar with post-operative care. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playing fetch, or simply spending time with a caring companion, I can match each visit to their individual needs and routine. My goal is to make your dog feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I'll provide dependable care, plenty of attention, and regular updates so you can have complete peace of mind knowing your best friend is in experienced hands. I am retired, so my scheule is very flexible for late morning, afternoon, and evening visits and walks. I can also do weekends and most holidays. I am unable to care for pets in my own home with 3 cats that are very content with the current housing situation and few guests.
About: I’ve owned a dog all of my adult life. I can’t imagine life without having to pick up dog poop daily. :) I was able to crate/potty train our puppy in less than a week! I’m also able to help train with basic commands. Your furry, cuddly love bug will be in good hands. I am a stay at home mom, so I am free anytime to let your fur babies out, take them for a walk, replenish their food and water and give extra cuddles while you’re away. I have a 5 and 3 year old who love our dog. They are very gentle with their furry sibling. Your pet will feel safe and have another furry playmate to play with. I can send pictures once a day so you don’t have to miss your baby too much.

About: I have grown up around animals and have experience with elderly dogs and very anxious cats specifically. My two childhood puppies grew up and I helped assist with their needs, such as medicine and helping them walk around with patience. I also understand what it’s like to have a very anxious cat— mine is too. I have one cat, a fish, and a snail of my own now! I’m currently building my health coaching clientele working from home. I take frequent breaks to walk at the park and often spend the majority of the day working on various tasks at home. I’m very flexible with my schedule right now! Since I have an anxious and non-sociable cat of my own at home I will be more open to visits such as drop-in’s and taking fur babies out on walks at the park right now!

About: Since graduating high school, I’ve worked as a house and pet sitter for neighbors, friends, and family. I’ve pet‑sat on and off over the last few years and am hoping to take on more jobs this summer before starting my senior year of college in August. I’m patient, responsible, and caring, and I truly enjoy spending time with animals. I can’t wait for the opportunity to work with you and your pets! I’m a college student currently on summer break, so I have plenty of free time each day to focus on caring for pets. My schedule is very flexible, and I’m able to give consistent attention and maintain a reliable routine for your pet. I always prioritize safety and comfort, whether that means supervised outdoor play, quiet indoor time, or crating if needed. I follow each pet’s routine closely, keep their environment clean, and make sure they feel secure, loved, and well cared for while you’re away.

Ryan is absolutely amazing! I honestly couldn't ask for better care for my dog. He is reliable, super communicative, and pays special attention to my dog’s needs. My baby girl gets so excited when Ryan arrives! I highly recommend Ryan to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog walker."
From the very beginning, Fatima went above and beyond with my dog. I’ve worked with other sitters before, but none came close to the level of care and attention she gave. My dog wasn’t feeling well while I was away, and she handled everything with such kindness and responsibility. Even though he’s usually shy with new people, she patiently earned his trust until he was completely comfortable by her side. She kept me reassured with constant updates, photos, and thoughtful messages. Fatima is the kind of sitter every pet owner hopes to find, and I’d recommend her in a heartbeat!

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
