“Daphne was wonderful! She took Lola as a last minute booking and we couldn't be happier! We received daily picture updates. Lola was treated like a little princess with lots of love! 🩷 Highly recommend Daphne!”

“I've been using Jessica to watch my golden for the last 4-5 trips, and my dog absolutely loves staying with her and her family. I can tell she takes very good care of my dog by sending pictures, taking him for walks, and even having "Water Days" for the dogs to play in water when its hot outside. This last trip she even noticed something about my dog that I hadn't and brought it to my attention. My little guy has allergies that I was unaware of since I moved to Louisville and she was the reason I took him into the vet and got him some allergy relief! Great Host, and Great Home for your pets! I highly recommend”

“Haley absolutely saved our life with a VERY last minute booking. She was super responsive, updated with photos, and was super close which made it the easiest experience possible. Cannot rave about her enough!!”

“Sarah and her family were great taking care of our fur baby. I was really nervous with leaving her for the first time. Sarah made it easy. We got pictures and updates daily. We will definitely use her again. I think Piper was a little sad to leave her new friends”

“We’ve used Julie twice now and she is nothing short of amazing. Our little girl loves it there and I know she is well taken care of. Julie is super easy to communicate with and very responsive! If you are looking for a reliable and trustworthy sitter, book her now!”

“Unlike boarding facilities or vets' offices where he has stayed in in the past, Sprite was happy and content while with Arla and her family. Being an "only" dog, Sprite really enjoyed his social time with Charlie and Winston. I don't know who had a better time on their vacation; us or our dog! We will definitely use Arla again.”

About: Welcome! We're the Phenix family—a family of six (plus our two sweet dogs!). We understand that leaving your dog with someone else is a big decision, and we strive to provide a safe, loving, and fun home away from home. I work from home with a flexible schedule, which means visiting dogs are rarely left alone for more than a few hours and have plenty of opportunities to get outside. Safety is one of our top priorities. Our spacious backyard is fully fenced with a secure 4-foot wrought iron fence, giving dogs lots of room to run and play. We know some pups are talented escape artists, so our gates are secured with locks, and every guest wears an AirTag during their stay as an extra precaution—just in case we have a little Houdini on our hands! Our 2 resident pups are Athena (a Collie) and Lulu (a Beagle mix). Both are 10 years old, gentle, and experienced hosts. We've been dog sitting for over 9 years, so they're very comfortable welcoming new furry friends into our home. They're great at reading other dogs' body language and are happy to play or simply give visiting dogs their space if that's what they prefer. To keep everyone happy and healthy, all dogs are fed separately to prevent food-related conflicts, and we only give treats and food provided by each owner to help avoid upset stomachs or dietary issues. We look forward to welcoming your pup into our family and treating them like one of our own while you're away! Our day starts with dogs being let out to go to the bathroom at 6am then breakfast. We have had some late sleepers stay with us, so we do adjust for our sleepy friends. Dogs have access to the backyard whenever they would like and we have plenty of dog toys for them to enjoy. We are happy to accommodate any feeding schedule, so we can keep your pup as close to their normal routine as possible. We have a fully fenced in yard with locks on the gates. Since we know some dogs are great at escaping, we have an air tag just in case.
“Daniel and his family were great with Kallie. She was able to get a lot of play time in to tire her out for our long drive home. Daniel was very friendly and I'm glad he was able to care for Kallie. ”

“My 2 dogs loved their vacation at Carla's house! They enjoyed playing with her dog Moncho, and after 5 days I picked up 2 very happy dogs. We will definitely use Carla again in the future!”

“Ryo was fantastic with our Beagle, Maple. He was incredibly patient and kind and made our dog feel right at home. We would love to work with him again in the future!”

“Rachael was super responsive and able to take my Lillian for a few days when I had to leave town suddenly. Communication was great throughout the stay with pictures and updates on how Lillian was doing. Rachael took extra time to cook up chicken for Lillian when she was too nervous to eat her kibble. I really appreciate the care Rachael and Pat gave to Lillian and will definitely be reaching out again!”

“Robin was a great sitter! Clearly very knowledgeable when it comes to caring for dogs, and made us feel very comfortable with leaving our pup at her home for several days. Really appreciated the communication and pictures/daily updates. Will definitely reach out to Robin again in the future.”

“Mac, Oliver and Winston had a wonderful stay with Kelsey!! Loved her communication with pictures! As soon as I dropped them off I knew they were in safe and loving hands!”

“My boarding experience for my pups with Shunita has been one of the best! She was very kind and took great care of my puppies. I was very nervous at the start since this was my first time boarding with Rover, but I could not have asked for a better person. She is the BEST! I will definitely will be a repeat customer. 5 stars!!”

“Patrick was great! Prompt communication and plenty of picture updates on Guthrie, who looked to be having the time of his life. I swear Guthrie was positively beaming when I picked him up! The afterglow remains several days after.”

I highly recommend Sarah to board and care for your pet. She provided excellent care and follow up regarding our Corgi during our vacation away. She sent pictures and updates throughout our time away. She was flexible on pickup time. I felt so much at ease from the beginning! This was my first time using Rover, and I’m so happy to have found Sarah and her precious family! Thank you!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
