“It was my first time using Rover. My 8 year old dog had only ever stayed with family. Mariah was very nice and did a great job. She sent multiple updates and pictures during my trip and made me feel very comfortable with everything. I will definitely use her again 😊”

“Lilli was great communicating with us regarding Penny. We were out of cell network, so some photos and updates didn't work, but with some extra efforts, Lilli was able to let us know that she and Penny were doing fine, and she managed to send photos despite the setback. We will rebook with her when we have need of sitter!”

“Heather was great!! She sent me pics of my dog regularly and was easy to communicate with. My dog seemed comfortable there too! We will definitely be booking with her again.”

About: I’ve worked with dogs for over 20 years, with much of that time spent walking and handling shelter dogs—especially those that are anxious or unsure. That experience taught me how important calm, structure, and consistency are in helping dogs feel more confident. I run Trail & Heel, a dog training and adventure-based care service in Louisville. I focus on practical, real-world training—whether that’s working with puppies, improving leash manners, or helping nervous dogs build confidence. Every walk and interaction is handled with intention. For me, care and training go hand in hand, with the goal of helping dogs become calmer, more reliable, and easier to live with. Caring for dogs is already part of my everyday life, so it fits naturally into my routine. I plan my schedule around the dogs I’m working with so I’m not rushing between visits. That means each dog gets calm, consistent attention and a much better experience overall. Care is always tailored to the dog and the service, but the approach stays consistent: calm, structured, and intentional. In a client’s home, I stick closely to their routine—feeding, potty breaks, exercise, and any specific instructions—while also reinforcing good habits like leash manners, calm greetings, and settling. In my home, I keep the environment structured and low-stress. Dogs get supervised time, appropriate exercise (including trail walks when it’s a good fit), and clear boundaries so they can relax and succeed. I only take on a small number of dogs at a time to make sure each one gets the attention they need.
“Collin is the best! Whenever I’m in KY he’s my go-to go for dog sitting. My Yorkie loves playing with his, he is very great at communicating and sending pics throughout the day. Highly recommend!”

“Haley absolutely saved our life with a VERY last minute booking. She was super responsive, updated with photos, and was super close which made it the easiest experience possible. Cannot rave about her enough!!”

“Our puppy spent the weekend with Lydia and came back happy and tired. Lydia walks him often and treats our dog like he’s at home. We know he is in good hands. We received frequent updates and pictures while we were away. Would recommend her for any dog sitting needs.”

“I have never left my dogs with a sitter before and Jessica was amazing. Completely eased my mind about leaving my boys with her and kept me updated with pictures while I was away. I will definitely use her again.”

About: I was a three times a day dog walker for an elderly neighbor. When she passed I took ownership of dog. Now I am looking for some new clients. I work from home and dog walk. I have the time to give to your pup tons of walks, play with them, and give lots of kisses. Fridays are dog park day! I can play with your dog in your home. Give your pup a break from the crate and have me walk and get play with your dog.
“Dewey loved his stay with Elizabeth and Phillip. I am so thankful for the positive experience and prompt communication. I highly recommend their services.”

“Heather recently watched our 4 month old puppy. She was very prompt on responding to any questions or concerns we had and was great being flexible when we had to change a date due to a work conflict. She provided us with picture updates and very our dog lots of attention and outdoor playtime. She did an amazing job and we will definitely be reaching out to her for future dates!”

“Amanda was amazing with Ellie and Eugene! We loved all the pictures we got while Amanda was watching them. It made us feel better knowing they were in such good hands!”

“I just can’t say enough about Rachael, she was beyond accommodating and patient with Agnes. This is the first time we have ever left her with anyone outside of family and once boarded with our vet (which was a horrible experience), she’s a gentle giant but very nervous and Rachael was so sweet and flexible to work with Agnes’s quirks and really got her out of her shell and back into her normal self, and text and sent pictures all the time so we knew what was going on! I will rebook with her every time, if she’ll have our Agnes again! Thank you Rachael and Pat❤️”

“Li was very accommodating. It was our first time using Rover and our circumstances were less than ideal (she had not met our 9mo Australian Shepard, it was last minute and we found out day of that our pup needed to wear an E-collar for the 4 night stay). I was less than hopeful but Li pulled through for us and was nothing less than helpful. Would use her again any time”

“I highly recommend Sarah to board and care for your pet. She provided excellent care and follow up regarding our Corgi during our vacation away. She sent pictures and updates throughout our time away. She was flexible on pickup time. I felt so much at ease from the beginning! This was my first time using Rover, and I’m so happy to have found Sarah and her precious family! Thank you!”

“Mia seemed to have a great time! I got updates on her everyday with pictures. Robin was even able to give my dog the meds she was on at the time. Would definitely recommend and will return!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
