“Joseiris was absolutely amazing! She was very responsive, communicated clearly and went above and beyond for my two cats. She was willing to learn how to use a cat inhaler and absolutely nailed it. She sent photos and status updates during each visit. My cats are usually pretty shy, but they instantly took a liking to her. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and friendly sitter.”

“This is the second time we have had Adam watch over our cats. He is wonderful. Cleanly and caring. Our cats are very nervous typically, but Adam takes his time to gain their trust and acceptance. He's truly great! Thank you Adam for keeping mufasa and sarabi happy!”

“Jillian always takes such good care of our Peanut! She gives great updates and photos of our sweet girl when we are away and makes sure she is cared for, would recommend her highly to everyone!”

“Haley recently came for two drop-in visits with our two dogs. She took such great care of them and was so thoughtful in her care and post-visit notes. One of our dogs is a funny little guy and Haley was accommodating for him which gave us such peace of mind. She is amazing!”

About: Your pet is not a guest in our house, it’s a loved family member for life! We individually your pet’s care based on its preferences and habits. I am a pet lover working from home who loves the company and snuggles. My kids are crazy about dogs and love them dearly also. We live in a beautiful home with a big fenced in yard but do take the dog(s) out daily to explore in the woods and have fun!
“Michelle was such a great sitter for my two cats! She is super attentive and caring. She always updated me with pictures and what my cats were doing. I highly recommend her. Thank you again!”

“I was lucky to find this wonderful family right before heading out on vacation, and I couldn’t be more grateful. From the very start, communication was clear, prompt, and professional. They were reliable and stuck to the agreed schedule, which I truly appreciated. My dog a 5 month old Standard Poodle who’s a giant ball of mischief connected with them right away. It’s clear they have tons of experience and, most importantly, a genuine love for animals. I had originally booked someone else who canceled last minute with a silly excuse… but honestly, I’m glad it happened because it led me to the right people. They deserve all the stars. Highly recommend!”

About: I have grown up with dogs and I have trained my grandmas dog before and I took a vet tech class and learned about training dogs as well I am currently working part time at stop and shop but I always have one or two days off and am free to spend overnights at your home:) I have a fenced in backyard and lots of toys in my backyard and have two wonderful fur babies of my own in my home their names are Lola and Harry

About: I’ve had pets my whole life, and I care deeply about making sure animals in my care have a clean, safe environment where they can be happy & healthy! My pets are truly family members, and I know that others’ pets are the same for them. I’ve had experience dog-sitting for friends and family. I also have experience with medically complex pets, which included caring for them post-surgery, and administering medications for their entire lifetime. I’m very good at following instructions, and absolutely love being with any pet! I’m a teacher who doesn’t work in the summer. Until July 26th, I’m in a musical production and will have rehearsals from 5-9 Mon-Thurs in Ellington (with shows 7/17 & 7/24 at night and shows 7/18-19 & 7/25-26 in the early afternoon), but that is currently the only regular thing I am doing! I am experienced working with animals and know how to read their body language to determine what they may need or how they’re feeling. I’m experienced in attending to the needs of my own pets, and I am also very good at following directions left for me!
About: I have taken care of dogs and cats(only a couple) since I was a kid. My friends, family, and nanny families knew they had someone they could trust to take care of and love their fur baby like it was mine. I have lived with a dog my entire life-all rescues(Golden Retriever, Pitty Mixes, King Charles Spaniel, Rotty Mix, Lab Mixes, Great Dane…) Our current fur baby Midnight is a senior Lab Pitty mix. I have experience caring for puppies to seniors. I am comfortable giving medication, feeding, bathing, walking, cleaning up after, and transporting your dog. I have less experience with cats, but have house sat several cats-making sure to follow their feeding schedule and cleaning out their litter box. I have a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. I worked with children 6 weeks to 5 years old for over 12 years. Which means I have lots of patience, love, and understanding. I have been lucky to be able to stay home with our daughter the last five years. But I am ready to make my way back into part-time work. I believes pets are our family and I will treat yours like mine. It would be a honor to help care for and love on them. I am currently a stay at home mom. My daughter is in preschool three days a week and starting kindergarten in the fall. So I have flexibility in my schedule. At the moment I am available Monday, Wednesday, & Friday 9am-12:30pm, and flexible Thursdays and weekends. I can do drop ins, hangout time, playtime, walks, and lots of snuggles and pets. At the moment I am not able to board any dogs or cats. My sweet boy was attacked in his foster home and still learning to trust other dogs again. I am comfortable come to your house to care for your pets.
About: Hello, I've trained several dogs from puppies in basic skills and know the best way to connect with most dogs is through play. I have experience with some medical care for temporary conditions and dogs with anxious dispositions. I'm a big guy so I'm not intimidated by larger dogs and will get down on the floor so smaller dogs aren't nervous. I currently work fully remote from home and have a generally flexible schedule to allow breaks for walks or visits. I'm generally up by 6:30 am each day, but have no issues getting up earlier depending on your pet's schedule. From my house I typically walk the neighborhoods near Greenacre or head over to Bliss park. I can also make late stops up to ~ 11 pm as I know sometimes that overnight without a break can be too much for your pet. I have a large double yard with the majority being fenced/blocked but there are several open areas near the driveway and side of the house. There is a two-story house with wood floors. Depending on your pet's preferences and schedule I would keep them with me in my room. I have a 40 lb mixed rescue dog who is very sweet and timid. Depending on preference we would keep them completely separate but she will likely check them out and then hide under a bed most of the time anyway ;) She has never shown any aggression or had any issues with other dogs.
“Deborah was wonderful with our dog. She brought her on great walks and took the time to give her live and snuggles. Kelby clearly adored her when we got back from our trip!”

“She was by far the best care taker we have used on rover. She took our drop in at the last minute and stayed the entire visit, was extremely attentive to the dogs, was clear with her communication and understanding our needs and did exactly as we asked. She even went above and beyond getting the dogs back in as they were being a little apprehensive about going back inside. Would HIGHLY recommend and will definitely be using again.”

“We are very thankful to have found Shea to care for our pups while we are away! Having a high energy rescue pup we had been limited in our ability to do much traveling. Shea came for a meet and greet and after spending a short time with us we were all calm and comfortable. Shea has helped us several times and each time we have come back to a tidy home and happy, well-adjusted doggies! Thank you Shea.”

Servicio fue excelente y de gran ayuda para nosotros durante nuestro viaje. Sophie siempre estuvo contenta de esperar su visita, la atención y el cariño que le brindaba. Espero volvernos a ver pronto! Saludos cordiales The service was excellent and a great help to us during our trip. Sophie was always delighted to look forward to your visits—and the attention and affection you gave her. We hope to see you again soon! Warm regards.

Anna is absolutely amazing! I was so nervous to hire a “stranger” last minute for my trip but Anna made everything soooo stress free!!! She took perfect care of my pup, sent daily updates & was easily accessible via message! Anna is the best of the best!! ♥️♥️ so happy she is no longer a stranger !

He is the best! Extremely dependable, diligent about following all directions and meeting needs of your animals. We have used him twice now and know our cats are in great hands! One warmed right up and met him every day with purrs and demands for brushing. The other was her usual, stand-offish self but still came out for a few sniffs and investigation. He respected their boundaries and gave them time to get to know him on their terms. He stays in great contact as well and we were very comfortable with him as a caretaker. We highly recommend him and wouldn't hesitate to hire him again. Thank you so much!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
