Hi! My name is Kayla, and I’m an Animal Science student with professional experience caring for dogs and a lifetime of experience caring for cats. I offer care in client’s homes through drop-in visits, walks and extended drop-ins. I spent 2 years working at a dog rescue, where I cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities. My responsibilities included feeding, cleaning kennels, exercising dogs, monitoring their health and behavior, and helping nervous or shy dogs feel comfortable. Working with rescue dogs taught me how to read body language, stay calm in new situations, and provide patient, compassionate care. I’ve also been a cat owner since I was eight years old and have had four cats throughout my life. My senior cat became disabled later in life, so I have experience with medication, grooming, litter box care, and adapting routines for pets with special needs. That experience gave me a special place in my heart for senior animals and pets who need a little extra patience. I know every pet has their own personality and routine, and I do my best to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Whether your pet enjoys walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply quiet companionship, I’ll care for them as if they were my own. I also love keeping owners updated with photos and messages, so you can have peace of mind while you’re away!

I provide care in my clients’ homes through drop-in visits, walks, and extended drop-ins so pets can stay comfortable in their familiar environment. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, feeding schedule, medications, exercise needs, and any special instructions. I always treat my clients’ homes with respect, make safety my top priority, and provide regular photo and message updates so you know your pet is happy and well cared for.

Kayla is the person you want to see arriving at your home when you are handing over your house keys and your beloved pets. She is intelligent and thoughtful. She understands the responsibility involved because she loves her own pets. She listens to what you tell her, she takes care with each pet with the knowledge that each is an individual. She is great in an emergency too. When her next door neighbor's elderly father fell and nobody could get into the house to help him because the neighbor had a dangerous dog guarding the way, Kayla was contacted and stepped in and calmly talked down the dog then put him into a room where he and everybody would be safe. She is a gentle, educated, thoughtful and lovely person too. When my dog of 15 years died people were very kind but she delivered something she ordered - had it made for me and it just moved me to tears because it was a perfect, thoughtful gift. She will be a great benefit to Rover because people will ask for her once they have met her. Congratulations, superb hiring skills.

Schedule
As a full-time Animal Science student, I schedule pet care around my classes and keep my availability updated on Rover. I only accept bookings I can fully commit to, and once I accept a booking your pet becomes a priority. I offer reliable drop-in visits and dog walking, and I’m happy to spend extra time with your pets when needed to make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship.
