“This was an amazing experience! It was my first time using this app and it will definitely not be the last! My dog loved her and her family and I cannot thank her enough? We will be boarding with her again soon!”

“Abigale was wonderful with Bailey our senior pup. She administered his special diet food and sent us great daily photo updates which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. They provided a safe, cozy environment and we joked that Bailey seemed to have made himself right at home! I would not hesitate to book with them again !”

“Saktah did a great job taking care of my elderly and rather unfriendly kitty, Koshka, for two weeks while I was vacationing. She was very professional, organized, and caring, kept me updated on how my kitty was adjusting, and showed genuine affection and concern for her. She's driven to get things right and wants your pet to be as comfortable as they can be while you're gone. So if you (like me) have a pet that needs extra love and care, and you'd like to relax during your vacation knowing they're in good hands, go with Saktah. She's got you covered.”
“Vassu and her family were so wonderful to my dog Teddi. He had so much fun playing with her daughters and her friendly dog. Her large backyard provided endless hours of entertainment. She was very resourceful and patient dealing with my high energy Pomeranian. I received photos and updates on his daily activities. I highly recommend Vassu as a dogsitter and would not hesitate to use her again.”

“My dog loves to play and I can tell he had a lot of fun running & playing during his stay cause he came home exhausted & conked right out when he got home, and also slept in the next morning. I had to wake him up at 8 a.m. Lol.”

About: I’m a CTRS and I have trained my dogs one of which is a a therapy dog that at times I will take to work. I normally do at least 15 minutes of training with my pups! I’m off Sunday Monday and Tuesday fully, and my partner is off Saturday. My day starts off walking my dogs then letting them outside to play. Your dog would be apart of that. I have a fenced backyard and a bunch of toys. The day starts off going for a walk around the block then I let the dogs run outside in the back. After that they come inside to relax and eat breakfast. I let them play in the house and sometimes chill out with their bone always supervised. 😊
“Brian was great! My dog is very shy and takes some time to warm up and he was so great at getting her adjusted. I received photos showing how she was doing and was all around very impressed. Thank you!!!”

“Amazing Experience!!! Our 3 year old Vizsla has always vacationed with us, but this time we couldn't take her with us, we found Luis and Alan on Dog Vacay and messaged them, they were quick to accommodate, their home with a very large fenced in yard was plenty for our V to run around! Their house was spacious and very clean! We received updates every day with pictures and humor which put our mind at ease! They were way above and beyond what we were hoping for! It is so great to know that we have a wonderful home to bring our fur baby to, incase we should travel again and cannot bring her! Luis and Alan couldn't have been anymore amazing! They truly love dogs!!! We are so pleased, and highly recommend them!”

“Katie is a friendly person. She likes dogs. We boarded our 5 months puppy with her, and it looks like she took good care of our dog. We shall board our dog with her again, and we recommend her to other guests.”

“Adam was fantastic! Quick and clear communication from the initial message all the way to pick up. Adam was very friendly and has an immaculate house, so I felt very comfortable leaving my dog for the long weekend. His dog Rocky was friendly as well and was a great playmate for my dog Max. I will definitely be booking with Adam again!”

About: We're a husband-and-wife team who spent nearly 20 years with four beloved adopted pets, all with their own quirks, personalities and needs. In another life, Laura worked in veterinary hospitals and emergency care with plans of becoming a veterinarian. Life ultimately took her in another direction, but the love of animals stuck – and our own pets taught us plenty, too. Especially Winston. He came to us after a really tough start, fearful and reactive to just about everything. With the help of veterinarians and positive reinforcement–based trainers – and a whole lot of patience, play and love – he became the sweetest snuggler, constant shadow and one of the great loves of our lives. Now after saying goodbye to the last of our four, the house is just too quiet. We're not ready for new pets yet, but we miss that presence only an animal can bring. So, for now, we'd love to borrow yours. You get to travel knowing they're loved and well cared for, and we get the walks, cuddles and ridiculous personalities we've been missing. One of us works from home, and the other is home frequently, so your dog will have lots of company throughout the day and rarely be left alone. Our schedules are flexible, making it easy to accommodate your dog's usual meals, medications, bathroom breaks, walks and bedtime routine. We know how much pets rely on the little rhythms they're used to at home... We have no resident pets and welcome dogs from just one household at a time, so your dog(s) won't be sharing our home with unfamiliar animals. This can be especially great for dogs who are anxious, selective with other dogs, accustomed to being the only pet, or just simply more comfortable in a quieter environment. We both come from long careers in biotech, where safety and attention to detail are second nature. We bring that same mindset to caring for your dog – from medications and feeding instructions to gates, walks, weather, household hazards and the little things unique to your pet. Every new dog starts with a meet-and-greet so we can all get comfortable with one another before you travel. We want to understand what makes your dog feel safe, comfortable and at home – and we'll never push them into activities or situations that aren't right for them.
“Beyond wonderful! Adam and his family went above and beyond to take care of our pup! We loved their daily updates with pictures!!! It is very clear that they treated Tupper like family. Extremely responsive and knowledgeable!”

“Elliott took excellent care of my golden retriever. He responded promptly to all communications, sent me regular updates and photos, and even let her sleep on his bed! He was kind and understanding when I had to shorten my dogs’ stay due to a family emergency.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Longmeadow
Lissette was absolutely wonderful with Sammy! From the moment we met her, leaving Sammy with her was so easy because she made us feel completely comfortable and confident that Sammy was in great hands. She took such great care of her, and Sammy seemed very happy and well cared for. We really appreciate the love and attention Lissette gave her, and we would definitely trust her with Sammy again. Highly recommend!

Shekeyla and her family loved our two pups while we were away on vacation, they showed amazing care and attention to them, walking, feeding, sleeping arrangements, all day attention. We received photos and videos and updates daily. You couldn't ask for more from one of the top rated rover sitters in our area. We were very grateful and would 100% book again. 🐶 🐶

I booked a trip last minute - Darlene was extremely accommodating with timing and took great care of our dog Bear! She took amazing pictures, had a yard for the dog to play in, and made me feel reassured about leaving our dog in her care. I will definitely rebook if I am back in the area!

Joseirys M. was absolutely amazing with our dog Django. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Django is a rescue and can be pretty anxious and fearful around new people, so we’re always very careful about who we leave him with. From the moment he was with Joseirys, it was clear she has a natural understanding of dogs and how to make them feel safe. She was incredibly patient, gentle, and attentive, and Django quickly became comfortable in a way that honestly surprised us. What really stood out was how well she adapted—not just to Django’s needs, but to our schedule as well while we were in LA. She was communicative, reliable, and went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Django was in such good hands. If you’re looking for someone who truly cares and treats your pet like their own, I highly recommend Joseirys. We will definitely be booking with her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
