“Allison was great with our senior dogs, who required a little extra love. She sent us multiple updates and pictures throughout the day. The dogs enjoyed the playtime and cuddles. We will definitely be using Allison again!”

“Kara was amazing! She kept us so well informed and took such good care of our babies. One of our dogs had a last minute change and needed medication given and she was super flexible and eager to help. We also have a crotchety old retired service dog and she took to Kara so so well. We will 100% be booking Kara again if we need it!”

About: Hi! I’m a college student and lifelong animal lover. I’ve spent 7 years helping care for my family dog, Honey, and am comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and providing lots of attention and companionship. While I’m new to professional pet sitting, I’m responsible, dependable, and understand how important it is to follow a pet’s routine and care instructions. I know pets are family, and I would treat yours with the same care and patience I’d want for my own. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. As a college student who works part-time, I have a flexible schedule throughout the week. Whether it’s a walk, drop-in visit, feeding, playtime, house sitting, or simply keeping your pet company, I’d love to help. My goal is to make sure your pet feels comfortable, cared for, and loved while you’re away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with both your pet and your home. I’ll carefully follow any instructions regarding feeding, exercise, medications, and daily routines to help your pet feel comfortable while you’re away. Whether it’s a quick visit or an overnight stay, I’ll treat your pet and your home with respect and care. I’ll be sure to keep you updated with messages and plenty of photos, so you never have to wonder how your pet is doing while you’re away.
“Jordan was great! Our dog took right to her and loved her! She was great at spending time with our pup and updated us regularly. Will definitely use her again in the future and highly recommend her!”

About: I have over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs and about 9 years of experience with cats. I currently have three dogs of my own, so I understand daily routines, different personalities, and the importance of safe, attentive care. Over the years, I’ve gained experience with feeding schedules, walks, playtime, basic training reinforcement, and recognizing pet behavior and needs. I treat every pet like my own and focus on making them feel comfortable, safe, and loved while their owners are away. I’m a stay-at-home dog mom, so pet care is already a big part of my daily life. My schedule is flexible, and I’m able to give pets consistent attention, walks, playtime, and care throughout the day. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their normal routine as closely as possible so the pet feels comfortable and secure. I make sure they are fed on schedule, get fresh water, regular potty breaks or litter box cleaning, exercise, and attention. I also keep the home clean and respect the client’s space.

About: Ready for tail wags and endless fun! Having raised my own pups for over a decade, I’ve experienced it all—from the wild puppy phases to the sweet senior years. I know exactly how to keep animals engaged, safe, and thoroughly entertained. Your dog will get all the playtime, attention, and expert care they deserve! Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine because my schedule is highly flexible! Whether I am hanging out with cats or walking dogs, my open availability allows me to easily match your pet's established routine. I can accommodate early morning feedings, mid-day potty breaks, high-energy afternoon play, or late-night cuddles. Because I am so adaptable, I can quickly adjust to whatever timeline your pets need to stay happy, comfortable, and stress-free Whether at my home or yours, I focus on safety and mimicking your pet's normal routine. In your home, I strictly follow your rules, keep litter boxes pristine, walk dogs on their usual routes, and secure your property. In my home, I provide a fully pet-proofed, welcoming environment where cats and dogs get dedicated attention, structured playtime, and their own safe spaces to rest comfortably.
“Natasha did a fantastic job pet sitting my dog and cat. She watched them for two weeks and made sure they had everything they needed to be happy. I look forward having her look after them again!”

“Katherine was communicative while I was away, and I came back to a very happy cat! I felt completely at ease knowing she was taking care of Chevy.”

“Dina took such great care of my cat! My cat needs stimulation, attention, and play, which Dina provided (during holiday season and for a good price). Dina is an animal lover and it showed in her care of my sweet girl! Thanks so much Dina.”

About: My husband and I are experienced pet lovers who would be honored to care for your best friend! We are experienced with dogs, cats, senior dogs, and puppies. Our beloved beagle, Huckleberry, passed away earlier this year - and spent the final years of his life battling a variety of diseases, so we know how stressful it can be finding a sitter you feel confident leaving your fur baby with when their "instruction manual" has grown in size. We have experience with special needs, strict diets, oral medications, SQ fluids, and much more. We treat dogs like human members of the family here, and rest assured we will get them the absolute best care. They deserve it! I work from home, so I am home almost always. My husband is a nurse, and though humans are his expertise, those skills can come in handy! Our home has a fenced in yard for roaming, no kids and no other pets at this time. We have plenty of couches, beds, bean bags, etc. for your dog to relax and unwind. We prefer to take one dog at a time, unless they are from the same family/already know each other. We will follow your dog's instructions thoroughly and keep them on their regular routine. We will be sure to send updates and plenty of photos. Our goal is your peace of mind! I work from home, so rest assured I will be with your pet almost always. I have plenty of time for walks and breaks outside, and will have an eye on your dog all day while I work. We have a fenced in yard and plenty of space in our home. Your pet will get all the attention - we do not have any other pets or children. We will follow your pet's routine - whether that's snuggling in bed with us every night or sleeping in their crate.
“Kristen did a great job for us. We contacted her at the last moment, she came to our house without a pre-booking visit, and our dog adjusted very quickly to her without ever meeting her. Kristen was punctual and followed our instructions. Overall, a great experience with Kristen.”

“Ashtin & Jenison are awesome! This is my second time booking with them to watch my cat, Duchess. I always get lots of photos and Duchess looks very happy. They even brought in a laser toy for her! They helped me out with last minute requests and also with two extensions on my last visit. They are super friendly and helpful, and seem to genuinely enjoy spending time with my cat. i will definitely book with them again!”

“Taylor has watched my cats multiple times and always leaves great updates and sends the cutest pictures of them. It is clear they are very comfortable with her. I would highly recommend Taylor!”

“Aubrey gave us so much peace of mind by helping with a few last-minute drop-ins while we were in the middle of moving and I was starting a new job. She’s a great communicator, and our pup clearly loves her. Her updates always included helpful recaps and adorable photos. Highly recommend Aubrey!”

About: My family has always had multiple dogs, my ex and I had a hound together, and I have a cat of my own now. I love pets of all kind and have learned how to interact with many different types of personalities! I can dog sit pretty much whenever with the exception of trips, I’m a student and work as a server but my hours are typically short so I’m almost never out for long periods of time I live in an apartment so I’m very used to taking dogs out on a leash for bathroom breaks and/or walks and I previously had a very strong 80lb hound so I can handle a big dog.
“Kayla's oversight and care of "Jones" was all, and more than I could have ever hoped for as a new "Rover" client. Even though Jones proved herself to be a bit of a 'skeerdy cat' and may have tried to throw Kayla a few curves when Kayla was attempting to locate Jones during her first drop in visits, Kayla persisted, taking time to make sure that her charge was always both well fed & watered but 'present and accounted for'. It was this attention to detail and persistence by Kayla shown in the twice her daily texts with photos from of her drop in visits that gave me the confidence I needed to fully enjoy my long delayed Christmas respite with my geographically distant family. I would commend Kayla to any Rover customer who is seeking a compassionate, competent and caring caretaker for their pet. Robert, with Jones' kitty paw of approval also”

“I cannot say enough get things about Kylie. She was prompt, great with communication, flexible, but most important my dog loves her. He was genuinely happier on days he saw Kylie and that is invaluable. Thank you so much Kylie! ❤️”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Lexington
Layla was very reliable in taking care of my puppy! She responded promptly and helped ease my stress with pictures and a sweet note during her drop in visit. My booking was rather last minute so I appreciate her responding quickly and helping me make sure Juni was taken care of.

Addie was amazing with my puppy! I work night shift an hour+ away and it’s always a struggle finding a sitter available to do drop in visits so late. I recently had a bad experience with a sitter falsifying care (I have a pet cam) and I was stressed I wasn’t going to be able to find anyone to check on her because of my schedule. Addie exceeded all of my expectations! She gave Maple so much attention, care, playtime, and affection! She was on time, she communicated well, and she was extremely accommodating to my little requests (like making sure my tv didn’t auto shut off so she could have background noise, or giving her a frozen pupsicle treat before leaving). She sent a ton of pictures of their time together and my girl looked so happy! She even won the heart of my cat, who is normally shy around new people. 10/10 experience! Thank you so much, Addie!

Emelyn has been absolutely wonderful. Reliable, communicative, and clearly loves what she does, she always takes such great care of our dog. We come home to a happy, well-exercised pup every time. It’s such a comfort knowing our dog is in such capable and caring hands—highly recommend!
Rhianna has been doing drop-in visits for our 3-month old puppy and it's been great! She always responds quickly, comes on time, and plays a lot with our energetic fur baby. From the pictures she sends us, it is clear that our puppy is having a great time and and loves to play with her. We appreciate her very much!

Brookelynn was easily the best sitter, my doggos have had. She was extremely attentive, caring, and tended to their needs ten fold! One of my dogs is very anxious, and she handled her with so much grace, and found ways to calm her down. I’ll 100% book Brookelynn again.

ReeCee immediately felt comfortable with Alexus. Alexus came as agreed. She provided pictures of her walking and playing with my pup. She gave me updates as to eating, snacking, etc. Alexus agreed to be available for another visit should we not get home at the planned time. All was good when we arrived. ReeCee was very happy. Thank you, Alexus.

Maggie was great! This was our first time using Rover and we had heard great things, but Maggie blew our expectations out of the water. She was very responsive, posted great details and photos after every visit, and really helped my wife deal with leaving the puppy for the first time. We will definitely be booking her again.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Lexington stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lexington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Lexington with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lexington. On Rover:

- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
