“Dan loves dogs! We will definitely board our dog with him again. Dan was very communicative and sent us great pictures and updates all week. We honestly think our dog may have had as much fun on his "vacation" at Dan's as we had on our great get away. We picked up a very happy and relaxed dog when we got home.”

“Patricia was wonderful with Buddy and Cooper. You can tell she really enjoys the fur babies. She sent me pictures every day which made my day. She has a big backyard for them to play in. I won’t hesitate to use her again.”

“Joshua took **fantastic** care of my Pepper while I was out of town. During the meet and greet, he asked all the important questions and was very interested in learning all aspects of Pepper’s care. It helped that my dog really seemed to like Joshua! He kept me informed during my trip and provided timely responses. This really gave me peace of mind, especially since it was the first time that I asked a sitter to provide Pepper with medication. I am so happy with the experience that I hope to book again!”

“Olivia kept our pup happy and calmed/relieved his anxiety of us being away! She was communicative and flexible as our timing shifted. It’s nice to know that she shares a fondness for our dog even with his messy drool and quirky personality!”

“Kristine was great with our Charlie! She was so nice to take our pup over a holiday. She sent pictures and videos every day! I highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs!”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! They went above and beyond taking care of Maize, giving me total peace of mind while I was away. I received frequent updates and tons of photos, which made me feel so connected and reassured. Maize looked so happy, well-cared-for, and loved the whole time. Truly phenomenal service—reliable, thoughtful, and caring. I would book again in a heartbeat and highly recommend to anyone looking for a sitter who treats your pet like family!”

“Denise was great to take my dog in a week before I had to leave. My dog got along great with her dog. I recommend her highly. My dog had to take medicine for allergies and Denise didn’t hesitate to do the job. I will bring my dog to her anytime.”

“Chief had a great stay! As a rescue and loyal dog, we worried he might feel abandoned but Ken & Dawn treated him like he was their dog. It was wonderful and reassuring to get pictures & videos of him during his stay. I highly recommend!”

“Cameron was absolutely amazing! She worked around our weird schedule and was very accommodating. Our sweet little Rey came back as happy as ever I know she treated her as if she was her own”

“The Best of the Best. Very good to work with. She treated Kramer with care and Kramer got along with her just fine. I will use agian in a heartbeat. Totally happy. Thank You from us to you…………👍🏻”

“Josephine took very good care of Odin and Zumi. She was very communicative and shared photos while we were away. Seamless drop-off and pick-up. I would highly recommend Josephine and would rebook again in the future.”

“Joseph was fantastic! He asked tons of questions in order to get to know Nacho's needs and wants. He was very attentive sent photos and his communication was spot on. He is the best dog sitter we have found thus far and hope to continue to use him moving forward.”

“Everything went smoothly—our puppy Stella was happy staying with Olivia and her dogs. She’s already excited and looking forward to coming back for a playdate or an overnight stay!”

“Deb was great match with my diamond and her needs. She sent me pictures of diamond while Diamond was in her care. Diamond was so happy to see me when I returned and she kept going back to deb for petting and letting Deb know that they had a bond. I appreciate Deb’s loving way and will continue to use her for staying with diamond.”

“Karen made a last minute trip so easy and stress free when our usual sitter was unavailable. Coconut was very spoiled during the stay and came home so happy. We will be booking with her again for sure!”

“Cammie is 5 stars! Strong communication and we just loved receiving photos / videos during our time away. She truly showed a love and care for our Atticus that was as if he was with family - such a caring and responsible care giver! We will definitely reach out again as we make travel plans.”

Scott and Angel are AMAZING dog sitters! We were so hesitant to leave our fur baby, but they made her 10-day stay so fun! They have the perfect “dog house” with two adorable dogs of their own. They sent daily pics and videos of all the fun Shyla was having! We were so happy to know that she was so well cared for while we were gone. I would give 6 stars out of 5! ❤️🐶

We could not do a meet and greet in advance because we are not local. We had some back and forth conversation to give both of us peace of mind that this was a good fit. I can confirm it was a great fit. Theresa appeared to be attentive to my 3 doodle mixes. She sent frequent pictures and communications. I could tell through the photos that my fur babies felt safe (i.e. sleeping on back). I would absolutely love my fur babies to visit again next time we are in the area.

I can’t say enough great things about Viviana. During our 10-day trip abroad, we felt completely at ease knowing Fiona was truly on a vacation of her own. Viviana treated her to plenty of walks, beach trips, and daily swims in her pool—our little mermaid-dog hybrid was in absolute heaven. Viviana sent us multiple photos every day, which we appreciated so much. Leaving Fiona for a long trip usually comes with some guilt, but Viviana made sure we didn’t feel an ounce of that. Fiona came home happy, well cared for, and honestly a little sad for a few days that the fun was over. We would trust Viviana again in a heartbeat and can’t recommend her enough.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
