“Once again, Kathy and Graham took such good care of Tommy that when he came home after his 2 week vacation with them, although happy to be home, was still looking for them! It’s such a great feeling to know and trust that another person can and will take good care of your beloved pet. We would not hesitate to leave Tommy for any length of time with Kathy”

“Katie is AMAZING!! From the moment I dropped my puppy off until I picked him up. She updated me sent me pictures and was very responsive. I booked her with short notice and also longer visit. I had to add a day and she accommodated it. I will definitely be using her services again in the future. If I could give 10 stars I would she is great.”

“I'm so happy I chose Swetha to watch Kodiak while I was on vacation. She sent multiple pictures a day, took care of his couple dietary needs, and took him on walks. I will absolutely reach out to Swetha the next time I travel and any time I need daycare.”

“Great sitter. Anita is obviously an animal lover. She provided daily pictures and texts regarding Mona’s day. It was nice to know I could travel and not have to worry about how she was doing.”

“Jan was awesome with our Lucy! We received a lot of feedback and pictures - it was clear that Lucy was spoiled and happy. This was the least nervous I’ve ever been leaving her and the happiest Lucy has ever been at pick up!”

“Dana was great. She did everything we asked and communicated well. She walked our dog 3 times a day and sent plenty of pictures to let us know how she was doing throughout her stay. We also had some medicine that we needed applied and she did that as well. We are going on another trip in a few weeks and we are planning on using her again.”

“Ramona was fantastic with our dog! She was welcoming and kept me up-to-date with how she was doing and even sent pictures! My dog was super excited to roam around her fenced in backyard and I can tell she had a great time! We will definitely use her for sitting again.”

“I was so pleased with my dog’s stay with this boarder. She sent me daily updates and made sure I knew Oreo was being treated with the BEST care! This was my first experience leaving Oreo with a someone outside my family and all of my insecurities went away the very first day he was there. I would highly recommend her and will definitely reach out again if I need to leave Oreo again!”

“Such a great experience! Angel took wonderful care of our shy and slightly neurotic dog. He had a great week with Angel and had fun meeting other dogs. She sent regular updates and pictures to put me at ease. We will definitely request Angel again!”

“Lorie took great care of our senior dog who has lots of medical needs. She is warm and compassionate and clearly loves all of the doggies as her own. She sent us regular updates and pictures while we were away. We felt like our dog was in better care with Lorie than when we have boarded him at the vet - and he was definitely more comfortable with a home environment. Thank you, Lorie!”

“I was super nervous about leaving my puppy Simba for the first time. Zachary and his family took great care of him. I love that the backyard is fenced in and the dogs are able to run and play. When I picked my puppy up, he wasvery relaxed and calm and you can tell he had a good time I will definitely book with Zachary and his family for all of my future dog sitting needs.”

“Pam and Evan were wonderful! Very welcoming and warm sitters! Louie enjoyed his time so much with them! Great photos too! We already have 2 more bookings set!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Independence
We had a such a great vacation knowing our dog Duke was well taken care of by Dee. We received daily video and photo updates. We liked that he got to spend time with her dogs and run around in her big backyard. Dee communicated well regarding Dukes behavior and our discipline strategy. We left her a training collar and discussed using trazadone for anxiety. It took him a bit but he seemed to learn the boundaries with her dogs once they were established. She gave medication when needed and as prescribed. Overall Duke was anxious at first being in a new environment but seemed to calm down after a few days. Dee did a great job taking time to learn Dukes personality, behavior and needs. She was patient and treated him like one of her own dogs!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
