“Cal & Kelly looked after our Labrador for 4 nights and we have no doubt he was very well cared for! We had a meet and greet beforehand and they were very welcoming and informative, and it was clear they have a lot of experience with dogs including working-line dogs which was important to us. They gave him plenty of exercise and outdoor time, and snuggles in an evening. They kept us up to date with photos and videos, and let us know how he was settling in. They have a brilliant set up at home for their dogs and the dogs they look after. Our boy was clearly happy at their place and we would love to use their services again. We would highly recommend Cal & Kelly”

“My dog, Molly did really well with Patricia and her family. I received wonderful photos of her daily. As an older dog with some medical issues and daily medication, I was concerned about leaving her for over two weeks. They took great care of her and made sure she got her medicine. She came home happy and relaxed, so I know she felt very comfortable in their care. I would definitely use them again and feel very grateful for the loving care they gave Molly. I highly recommend using them to anyone looking for great care for their pet.”

“Alex and Daniel were wonderful to work with! They kindly gave us updates on our dog while she was with them and it really seemed like she warmed up to them quickly. We are so greatful to have met them and we look forward to working with them in the future.”

“Bria was awesome with my dog. She communicated with me at least on a daily basis with picture updates. I could tell she was well cared for on her pick up day as it took her a second to recognize me! I think we’ve found a home for her when I’m away.”

“I felt so comfortable leaving my little pug with Fany. She’s so accommodating and love that she has a little backyard for her fury guests. Thanks so much Fany will see you again!”

“Gabriela did a great job keeping us updated with photos. It seems like she took good care of Coco. We have used her twice now and would keep using Gabriela in the future.”

“Eric was great! We had a family emergency and needed to travel internationally. He sent lots of pics and even socialized our dog. It was an exciting week away from home with many adventures. Will definitely use him again in the future. Thank you for taking such great care of our baby!”

“I am becoming very concerned every time Lisboa stays with Nicole: I fear my pup wont want to come back home! Thank you Nicole, Coco and family for taking such a good care of my girl!!”

“Victor has watched our pup several times and has always been dependable, caring and attentive. We receive daily updates and pictures. Our dog definitely has a great time at Victor’s!”

“Maryjo and Jon were great. They were easy to coordinate with and took great care of our dog like it was their own. Hope to book them for future dog sitting.”

“Steph put my mind and heart at ease from the moment of our first contact on the app, and my feelings of trust and gratitude continued through Ben’s whole stay.”

“Johanna was such a wonderful sitter for our dog Rylo. He can be a little nervous in new environments, but we felt like we were in expert hands with Johanna. She shared regular updates and photos and was so great to work with. Rylo already can’t wait to play with her again soon!”

“Drea is a great sitter. I always feel confident that my small dog will be well taken care of when she’s with Drea. We get pictures every day and my dog is happy to see Drea at drop off!”

“Stacy is a wonderful dog sitter. During our meet and greet she made sure to introduce Daisy to her own dogs and the living spaces, and was thoughtful about how the other dog guests interacted. Stacy sent updates throughout our long trip including photos and feedback on how Daisy was coping with fireworks over the 4th, etc. We will definitely return to Stacy next time we are out of town!”

“We booked with Pamela while we were in town visiting for America 250. She took great care of Riley and it was comforting to know he would be safe and well taken care of during all the fireworks. He did well and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Pamela for anyone who needs a sitter in the DC area.”

“Kamille and Krew took great care of Domino again and we’re able to keep him after a last minute decision to travel home for the holidays. I got great pictures and videos the whole time even on the holiday, and drop off/pick up was flexible and easy! Still so glad I found Kamille and Domino is too!!”

About: What Sets Me Apart I offer more than just a standard check-in or walk—I bring a lifetime of genuine animal love combined with specialized, hands-on experience to ensure your pets are safe, happy, and completely understood. Here is what makes my care unique: Senior & Special Needs Expertise: I have a deep understanding of senior pet care. Whether it’s managing medication schedules, recognizing subtle signs of discomfort, or just providing the extra patience and gentle pacing that older pets deserve, your senior companions are in incredibly safe hands. Puppy Training & Energy Management: Navigating the puppy phase requires consistent structure. I love working with young dogs to reinforce basic training, maintain potty routines, and channel all that amazing puppy energy into positive, healthy habits. Multi-Pet & Diverse Species Experience: My home is a sanctuary for all kinds of animals. From handling high-energy dogs and independent cats to caring for unique exotic pets like geckos, I understand the distinct body language and routine requirements of a truly diverse range of species. When your pets are with me, they aren't just being watched—they are being treated with the same deep respect, attentiveness, and family-level care that I give to my own. Pet care isn't just a side task for me—it’s seamlessly woven into the fabric of my daily and weekly structure. Because my routine centers around a flexible, home-based schedule, I am able to provide the consistent, attentive, and highly reliable care that pets thrive on. Here is how I integrate dedicated pet care into my routine: A Natural Part of My Day: Managing a busy, active household means I am already completely dialed into strict daily routines. Feeding schedules, fresh water refills, and multiple potty breaks are second nature to me and easily sync with your pet's specific internal clock. Built-in Movement and Fresh Air: I value keeping active and getting outside. Daily walks and high-energy playtime aren't chores—they are highlights of my schedule that allow me to give your dog the exercise, mental stimulation, and neighborhood exploration they need. Meticulous Environmental Care: Just as I maintain high standards for my own surroundings, keeping a spotless pet environment is part of my regular weekly rhythm. Daily litter box scooping, deep-cleaning food bowls, and organizing pet areas are deeply embedded in my normal cleaning habits. Evenings and Weekends for Quality Time: When the daytime rush winds down, my evenings and weekends are dedicated to winding down, too. This is when I love providing the quiet companionship, gentle grooming, and couch cuddles that keep pets feeling safe, loved, and part of the family while you're away. Because my life is set up to balance multiple priorities smoothly, your pet receives structured, dependable care without me ever having to rush their routine. Care in My Home (Boarding & Daycare) When pets stay with me, they aren't kept in isolation—they become part of a structured, lively, and highly attentive household. Seamless Integration: I run my daily business from home, which means your pet enjoys constant human presence and supervision. They are integrated right into our daily rhythm of work, play, and relaxation. A Sanctuary for All Personalities: My home is designed to accommodate different comfort levels. If your dog loves a pack environment, they will have plenty of company. If they prefer a quiet corner to decompress, I have dedicated, cozy spaces where they can rest undisturbed. A Safe, Social Environment: With experienced resident pets of my own, I am highly skilled at managing animal dynamics. Introductions are always handled slowly and safely, ensuring everyone feels secure and respected in the space. Care in Your Home (House Sitting & Drop-Ins) If your pet prefers the comfort of their own walls, my priority is maintaining absolute consistency, security, and cleanliness while you are away. Flawless Routine Replication: I follow your specific instructions to the letter. Whether it’s feeding at an exact timestamp, following a precise walking route, or administering medication, I ensure your pet's internal clock and habits aren't disrupted. Respecting Your Space: I treat your home with the utmost respect. In addition to keeping your pets happy, I ensure their environment stays pristine—handling meticulous litter box maintenance, keeping feeding areas spotless, and making sure everything looks exactly how you left it. Security and Peace of Mind: You will receive regular updates, photos, and quick communication so you never have to wonder how things are going. I also keep a vigilant eye on the security of your home, ensuring doors are locked, mail is brought in if requested, and the property is secure.
“Andrew and Adva were fantastic with my older pup-they helped her manage her mobility issues, took her for lots of slow, easy walks, and kept her comfortable with constant company. They sent daily updates and photos too. Andrew and Adva put me at ease right away; they are kind, calm, and flexible. I didn't feel apprehensive about leaving my senior dog for five days. I will absolutely request them again!”

After our meet and greet, I knew Tim, his wife and pup Mindy would be a good fit for Izzy. They did a great job communicating with us. From the updates, photos and video, we could tell that Izzy was well cared for and treated like one of their own beloved dogs. We really appreciated the pup pick-up & drop off option at our house and the safe dog seat they had. Highly recommend!

I was away on a long trip and anxious about being away from Charlie for such a long time. Stephen cared for Charlie like he was part of his family. I received daily updates about Charlie's activities, and the photos gave me peace of mind that Charlie was having a great time and being treated like a king. Charlie also has a medical condition, and Stephen was diligent about administering medications and monitoring Charlie. I highly recommend Stephen to care for your pup when you need to travel. 5/5 stars!

Aleyda took great care of our dog Ty - he came home content and happy and well exercised. Aleyda was extremely communicative - we received multiple pictures and texts each day. You can tell that she really loves dogs, gets to know them individually and cares about them. I would highly recommend her and will ask her to sit for Ty again anytime.

Michael took such good care of my German Shepherd/Husky mix, Kota! Not only did he follow the instructions I gave for commands and feeding/cleaning, but he went over the moon to make sure I knew Kota felt safe. I received regular updates, whether they were videos or pictures! Kota also got to meet other dogs and cats, which Michael facilitated extremely well. This was such a wonderful little staycation for my big dog. 10/10 recommend!

My pup is a regular at daycare and this was her second time boarding with Cal and Kelly. Pup clearly loved every minute of her stay! appreciate all the photo and video updates — it’s so nice to see how happy and comfortable she is while I’m away. Highly recommend!
Maggie just had her third stay at Rebecca's home. Maggie knows where we are once I drive into Rebecca's neighborhood and she got SO excited, she cried and barked to get out of the car as soon as we pulled up. She ran to Rebecca and smothered her with kisses and wags. Rebecca is a great communicator and I loved the updates she sent, which gave me peace of mind when I was far away. I know she loves my dog and takes such good care of her, and I never have to worry.

Julio is so wonderful! He’s watched both our dogs previously and we love going back to work with him. He was available short notice and worked with us to nail down last minute details. We really appreciated his flexibility, prompt responses, and professionalism. Our dogs love him too.

We couldn't have asked for a better sitter for Mimi during her month long stay! From the very beginning, Sonia gave us complete peace of mind. She was incredibly caring, attentive, and kept us updated every single day with photos and messages, which meant so much to us while we were away. During Mimi's stay, she unfortunately became sick, and Sonia went above and beyond to make sure she received the best care possible. She kept us informed every step of the way, took Mimi to the veterinarian, carefully followed all of the vet's recommendations, and even prepared her special meals to help her recover. The best part is that Mimi absolutely adores both her and her daughter. It was obvious that Mimi was treated like part of their family, and that gave us so much comfort. We are beyond grateful for everything they did for Mimi, and without hesitation, we would trust them to care for her again. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who is responsible, loving, trustworthy, and truly goes above and beyond for the pets in her care. Thank you Sonia for taking such wonderful care of our sweet Mimi we appreciate you more than words can express!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Hillandale home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Hillandale.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Hillandale sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
