“The aunties are amazing. Super communicative, tons of pictures, I told my friend I felt like I was traveling first class with these pet sitters. My dog looked like he was having the time of his life! Also enjoyed meeting them both at the meet and greet and chatting over the phone. Will definitely book them again.”

“Veronica did a fantastic job taking care of my dog! She was professional, attentive, and clearly loves what she does. She provided regular updates and photos.I couldn’t have asked for better care—thank you, Veronica!”

“Jeannie is wonderful. She always provides great communication and pays attention to detail. Thank you Jeannie for putting me at ease when I have to leave my babies ❤️”

“We can't say enough good things about the care that Jeana provides for our pups when we go on trips! She checks in prior to the trip, shares detailed updates and pictures each day while we are away, and leaves the house immaculate and pups happy upon our return. She is responsive and reliable, and our dogs love her. We really appreciate the care and attention that Jeana brings as a sitter, and highly recommend her!”

“Ray was wonderful with our dog and took great care of both her and our home. Communication throughout the stay was excellent — we received thoughtful updates, honest notes about how things were going, and clear follow-ups at the end. Our dog can be a little hesitant in bad weather and new situations, and Ray was patient, attentive, and proactive in giving her plenty of opportunities, encouragement, and affection. It was clear she was comfortable, well-exercised, and genuinely cared for. Ray also went above and beyond making sure everything was clean and handled before leaving. We came home to a happy pup and a well-kept house, which is exactly what you hope for. We’d absolutely trust Ray again and would happily recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter.”

“We had a wonderful experience with our dog sitter. She was incredibly responsive and communicative throughout our time away, which gave us real peace of mind. We loved receiving daily photos and updates, and it was clear our dogs were well cared for and comfortable. She also left our home clean and tidy, which we really appreciated. We’re very grateful for her care and would happily book with her again.”

“Bella was incredibly well cared for during our absence. Ahmed looked after every detail and was in constant contact updating me with photos and videos which was really helpful to easing any anxiety we had in leaving our little Yorkie. Ahmed even came back Sunday afternoon to give Bella another walk and treat to bridge the time before I returned home. I couldn’t have been more pleased with this caregiver; thank you Ahmed!!”

“Sarah did a great job taking care of our dog and cat while we were away. She wanted to know all the details of how to take best care of them. The house was pristine and the animals very happy on our return. We highly recommend her.”

“We needed a special someone to care for our dog Pepper in our home while we were away for a week on a family vacation. Pepper is a senior dog on medications and a bit on the nervous side, and this was the longest we had left him alone…we were so nervous! Romy put us at ease right from the start. Pepper took to her right away and it was immediately evident that Romy has a natural love for dogs. She stayed at our house for a week taking him regularly for walks, having snuggle time, and sending us happy pictures of the two of them together every day. And she can be firm when she needs to be: Pepper is on a strict diet and begs for table food constantly, yet Romy had a wonderful way of letting him know the boundaries. When we came home, the house was in perfect shape as we left it, and Pepper seemed more happy to see Romy than he was us! We were so glad to have Romy care for Pepper and put us at ease so we could enjoy our family reunion. We would have Romy back in a heartbeat, and hope others have the opportunity to meet her and have her care for their fur babies as well :-)”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Deloris! She took such great care of Holly and our home, and from day one her communication made everything so easy and stress-free.”

“She's amazing. Very punctual and professional. Got along great with my dog, and took excellent care of my pet and my living space (including some cleaning!) 10/10 couldn't recommend more strongly.”

About: I have a strong and genuine love for dogs, cats, pigs, birds, hamsters, you name it, i LOVE it. I am responsible & trustworthy, I will treat your pet like it is my own. I am calm & have lots of patience when it comes to animals, it is truly my passion. I worked at 2 different doggy day cares and that is where I fell in love with working with dogs, I now work for a professional pet care company and absolutely love it. My pet care experience has thought me the importance of being patient, responsible, and compassionate when it comes to caring for animals :) I am currently working part time with a professional pet care company from Monday- Friday. I am a college student and I go around my class times and settle with my schedule from there. I unfortunately don’t do recurring services at the moment. Trust is my biggest priority, I think it is very important that my client gets to know me and build that important trust. Pets are apart of your family, and having someone you can trust with their care is very important!
“Sarah was so great with our 2 cats. She even managed to get a “head bump” from our shyest cat on her initial meet and greet! Sarah arrived on time everyday, sent us detailed information on how the visit went and sent lots of pictures. She respected our cats’ boundaries and spent a lot of time playing with them and watching cat TV together. It is so nice to find a sitter that really cares about the pets she sits. We’ll definitely rebook her the next time we are out of town. Thank you Sarah!”

About: I always lived in a house with dogs or cats. I’ve taken care of dogs large and small. I worked as a volunteer with therapy horses in middle school as a sidewalker and groomer. Additionally have taken care of chickens and rats from a young age. I am often times pet sitting a special needs (blind) greyhound. I currently am working a part time jobs where I build my own schedule. I am a dance teacher who leaves early in the morning for morning classes and then am usually free in the afternoons for the rest of the day. I am often able to add extra tasks in my day with this flexibility. I treat other people’s space with respect. Will clean up any mess/debris right away. I will keep your fur baby company and can provide much enrichment and love.

McKenna is amazing. I almost don't want to write this review because I don't want others to get in the way of me having access to her when I need her! She's amazing with my dog and so attentive to keeping my house just like she found it. Sometimes cleaner! I will always attempt to book her first whenever I have needs for dog sitting.

Outstanding care for our two boys. Dana took care to make sure our dog’s schedules were not disrupted and made sure they had plenty of love and cuddles. Dana was very communicative and kept me updated on walks, scheduled activities and if there was anything she wanted to double check on she asked. I would highly recommend here for pet sitting and for walks.

This was our first time leaving our little dog, Artie, with a Rover house sitter, and Eric was outstanding. We were so grateful for his responsiveness, reliability, thoughtfulness, experience, and understanding. Our flight home was delayed and Eric even stayed quite a bit later than expected to make sure the handoff went smoothly for our anxious dog. He was great administering Artie's medication, adjusted easily to his walking and picky eating needs, and kept in good regular contact. Highly recommend him and look forward to booking him again. Thanks Eric!
We’ve relied on Joanna many times now to care for our dog and cat, and having someone we trust this much makes being away so much easier. She’s attentive to their individual needs and always reaches out when there’s a detail I’ve missed or something worth clarifying. We have so much peace of mind knowing they’re in her care 🤗

Rai is absolutely phenomenal—hands down the best Rover sitter we’ve ever had! This was Bella Pauline’s second stay with her, and Rai cared for our medication-needing, love-demanding girl as if she were her own. We received plenty of wonderful photo updates, so it was clear Bella was happy, comfortable, and thoroughly spoiled. Rai also left our home spotless, washed the linens, and somehow added an extra cherry on top: Bella was gifted a delicious homemade treat and a new toy. Bella may now think Rai runs a five-star dog resort, complete with room service. We are incredibly grateful and would recommend Rai without hesitation. She is caring, reliable, thoughtful, and truly exceptional!!

Jackie always does *such* an amazing job taking care of my two dogs and [very old] cat when I am out of town. She is reliable and communicative. She is able to handle any special requests with ease and I love that I have found someone who I can leave my babies with and know with certainty that they are in good hands.

Lia went out of her way to update us, and responded in a timely manner anytime we reached out. She took great care of our home and our animals. She even let us know when our old pup had tummy troubles and asked us next steps for his care even though it wasn’t emergent. Thanks for taking such great care of our house and pets!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hayfield walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hayfield maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hayfield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hayfield. On Rover:

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
