Dana can care for
Availability
I enjoy taking care of animals so much so that I changed my work schedule to allow for more flexibility for pet care. I work part time during the week outside of the home. I am free most afternoons/early evenings for daily walks and drop ins. When I am house sitting I will be able to drop in throughout the day while also carrying out any of your pet’s morning and evening routines. During our meet and greet please don’t hesitate to bring up any concerns or questions. I am flexible about different pet care needs and will do my best to accommodate my schedule to your pet’s routines to make them feel very comfortable and relaxed while you are away.

I do not provide boarding at this time but I still provide drop ins, walks and house sitting. I prefer house sitting because it keeps your pet comfortable and relaxed while minimizing disruptions to their routines when you are away. I try to keep walks/feeding times and medication administration routines similar to the pet owner’s schedule to reduce any anxiety while your animal is getting used to me. I like to provide a lot of cuddles, walks and treats to your pet to help them feel comfortable with me.
Information Dana D. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know about any medications, allergies, temperament, physical activity expectations and frequency of visits required during the day for any house sitting requests. It also helps to know of any behavioral modifications or tricks you would like me to practice with your dog during my stay. Consistency is important and I want to make sure I’m encouraging good behavior while you are away. The more information the better!
A typical day
I love taking long walks with dogs in the morning and evening. If the weather permits and your dog is up for it I have no problem taking dogs on local hikes for a change in scenery. If walks are not an option I enjoy playing fetch, lounging outside or using any kind of brain stimulating toys/games to entertain the dogs. Cuddling is always an option as well, especially after a long day.

Pet care experience
Hi! Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. I have been on Rover for almost 6 years but I have always been around animals and grew up in a household with many different kinds of pets. Over the past few years I have become very comfortable taking care of senior dogs and managing administration of oral medications. I recently changed my work schedule to allow for more flexibility with pet care. My professional work experience supports my ability to be dynamic and adaptable while managing a schedule to care for a multitude of pets outside of the typical dog/cat care (chinchillas, rabbits, chickens and guinea pigs). Last year I received a certification in pet CPR and first aid and participated in a basic dog training session to receive tips about behavioral modifications for puppies. I really enjoy spending time with animals whether its cuddles on the couch or long walks by the waterfront. Caring for these animals has been very therapeutic and healing for me as I transition out of a health care career. If you have any questions about my profile or pricing please do not hesitate to reach out and talk to me. I can adjust prices after we discuss details regarding your pet care needs. Looking forward to taking care of your pet:).
Reviews

Dana is a rare gem find!!! Trustworthy reliable and great communication. I have two dogs she walks together who no matter how much training we do always act like they’ve never been outside of leashes before. One is aggressive relative the other is easily overly excited. She handles them like an absolute champ and I know they are always safe in her hands!

Dana was amazing! She came in calm and relaxed (I have a sometimes nervous pup) and my pup was all over her. We have another pup who we just rescued and was able to get him to calm down again in order to let him out. Once he was out she confidently managed the two with their high energy!! All three went outside, ran around and chilled for a little while. They came back in and she got the one pup back in his room. Needless to say my dogs were very very happy and ran out their energy! Highly recommend Dana!

Dana did a wonderful job taking care of our home and pups! She was extremely communicative and sent tons of updates which were much appreciated! We returned to relaxed pups and a clean home and are so grateful for her care!

Your pups will love Dana! She’s very caring, communicative, and will give your fur babies lots of snuggles and plenty of playtime while you are away!
