“Melanie was amazing!! I really appreciated that she asked lots of questions about my two boys because it gives me peace of mind that their doggy sitter will take the best care of them. Which was actually what happened! She sent lots of photos of updates during the stay. Her dog Pippa was also so sweet and got along great with Mr and Captain. We had a change of plans at the end and Melanie was so helpful in accommodating us. Would definitely recommend her to everyone!”

“We have used Mary multiple times and it’s been great! We get lots of updates and pictures and it’s clear she treats our pet with lots of love and attention. She’s a great pet sitter that I can’t recommend highly enough!”

“Christine did a great job with my nervous dog Mochi especially since this was our first time leaving Mochi with anyone. Thank you Christine for your special care of Mochi and look forward to bringing Mochi over again!”

“Eric was the BEST! I went international for 10 days and never had to worry. Joey came back happy and I knew he was loved. Thank you, Eric! Consider yourself added to my Rover rolodex. :)”

“Allison and Kevin were amazing watching my dog Sunny for 5 nights! I was pretty nervous leaving her without family for the first time but they reassured me daily with plenty of updates and pictures and I was so happy they were loving on my baby while I was away. Truly great first time Rover experience and I would definitely book with them again!!”

“Kristin was wonderful with Charlie, and when I had a slight change in plans was able to accommodate them very easily. Was always responsive and sent me lots of photos from the weekend. Will definitely send Charlie back!”
“Tim and Ally were amazing! They sent us tons of photos of Piper and kept us in the loop on how she was doing. Piper loved it there and we will be using them again for sure!”

“We recently traveled for a family vacation and for the first time had to leave our boys Jasper and Pablo (cats) behind. It was a nerve racking feeling! I did some research and came across Kitty’s profile. I knew immediately that she would be a perfect fit for our boys. The communication was on point at all times. She updated us with photos of them and gave us little details of their behavior and activities. We only had to provide the food, she provided everything else. They returned home happy and so well behaved, we think she trained them because they were already good boys but came back even better. She also sent them home with a toy that Jasper loves and the cutest “catlander”. Kitty was flexible with time and availability. My only complaint is that I know that they love her more than they love us lol I’m ok with that. Kitty has loyal clients with us. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER.”

“Gregory was very responsive to my last minute request for boarding. My dog is little and anxious, and I was not sure how she would do with another dog as large as Koda, Gregory’s dog. But Koda turned out to be very well trained and had a lovely calm demeanor. Maya was very comfortable and I will definitely be using Gregory again!”

“Alice was so flexible and accommodating when I reached out to her last minute about sitting our dog. She sent daily update photos and i knew our pup was in good hands. Thanks so much again, Alice!”

“Yuhan was a wonderful sitter. She gave frequent updates on our girl and we could tell she really enjoys what she does. We will definitely be using her in the future!”

“Melissa was wonderful with our dog during his stay at her house! She sent us regular photos of him with her family and he couldn't have been happier. We will definitely be working with Melissa in the future!”

“Stella had a great time during her long weekend and was very well taken care of!! Nice to have a peace of mind that she is in great hands while we are away!”

“Nicolle was amazing with our new puppy! We have only had her for 2 weeks, so we were nervous about leaving her with a sitter, but Nicolle put us at ease. She was prompt in her responses both prior to the booking and during the booking and sent photos. Our pup came back happy and well cared for”

We had a wonderful experience leaving our cat with Nuzhat for a week! She kept us completely in the loop with regular updates and great photos, which gave us total peace of mind while we were out of town. Highly recommend her services and would absolutely book again!

Brooke went above and beyond with our Phoebe! She took Phoebe on so many adventures and I knew she was having a great time. Brooke provided ample photos throughout her stay. Phoebe and Mochi got along really well. We would definitely have Brooke care for Phoebe in a future stay!

I was out of town for half the summer, so for the first time, I needed to find a stranger to care for my 16 yo cat. Right before leaving, he had a vet visit because his behavior was deteriorating; it wasn't until his first day with Christel that I got the bloodwork results back, and he had severe kidney disease and needed to be transitioned to prescription kidney foods and then have a phosphate binder added. I had to ship the new food to Christel and have her take care of all of it, which was nothing I'd prepared her for regarding his stay. Christel took amazing care of my cat!!! We just got back from our trip earlier this week and I took him for his follow up vet appointment - he'd gained over a pound back (he'd been down to 6.5 lbs!), and his bloodwork is WAY better... he's no longer in end stage kidney disease!! I am so, so grateful that Christel took such good care of my senior kitty. I highly recommend her!!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
