We cannot recommend Adam enough as a house/dog sitter. It is always so hard to find someone trustworthy enough to stay in our home and take care of our amazing boy. Adam was communicative, trustworthy, and reliable allowing for us to have a relaxing vacation knowing that our pup was safe. We have a 2 year old doberman who is not always the quickest to warm up to people, however he took to Adam quickly and truly enjoy his stay with him. In addition, the house was in excellent condition when we returned and Loki was happy and well exercised. Will absolutely book Adam again for future sitting opportunities and strongly recommend him to sit your pup.

Jourdan was wonderful with our 2 dogs. They are both large breeds and the German Shepherd is especially energetic but Jourdan was up to the task. She played with, took care of, and stayed overnight with them and kept the house looking just as good as we left it. She sent pics of our furbabies which helped since we missed them so much. We appreciate her and definitely recommend!!!

Bill was absolutely outstanding. He stayed at our place while we’re out of the country for a little over a week. He took incredible care of our two golden retrievers and sent many updates and pictures of them. He was prompt and took great care of our house while we were away. We will definitely be booking Bill again for his services!

Anthony is a wonderful sitter. He arrived precisely on time and listened carefully to our instructions regarding. our special needs dog, Norma. Anthony texted photos and reassured us that Norma had taken her medication. When we got home, we were pleasantly surprised to find her relaxed and comfortable, something she doesn't always exhibit even with us. We're glad we found Anthony and look forward to having him care for Norma in the future.

About: I’ve been pet sitting for 3 years and I also work at a doggy day care. I’m very comfortable and experienced with handling a lot of dogs at once, as well as different sizes, ages, breeds and temperaments. I also have experience caring for sick or injured dogs. On top of dogs, I have experience caring for cats, birds and reptiles. I am currently finishing my psychology degree, and then moving on to my veterinary technician degree. My dream is to work with animals, and I’m eager for more experience to grow my resume! I work Tuesday-Friday, with Thursday and Friday being my longer shifts (8 hours). If your dog is okay being alone for that period of time, or if you only need me for one night, I am completely willing to board those nights! If not, I am completely available the whole day Saturday-Monday. Most of my dog sitting experience has been dog and house sitting in the clients home. I am a very clean and respectful guest, and I feel being at home makes it easier on the dogs when their parents are gone. Being in an unfamiliar place with a person they don’t know can be stressful, overstimulating and anxiety inducing for many dogs. My biggest priority is not only the safety and health but the happiness of the dogs I watch.

About: I have had my own family dog, Mabel, since 2018. I have been pet sitting for my friends and neighbors for years. I’m always good for a long walk, playtime in the fenced yard, or just relaxing on the couch. I’m a college student home for the summer. I am available every day and night except Tuesdays and Thursdays 9-5. I am flexible to work around your schedule and what works for your pet. My friendly dog, Mabel, who is a Mini Goldendoodle will love to play with your dog in my fenced in yard. All pets will be cared for with my full attention and plenty of pictures will be sent your way!

Roxanne was amazing! She is reliable, caring, and incredibly easy to work with. Our older dog has GI issues and can be very finicky, so it’s never easy for us to leave her, but Roxanne took wonderful care of her and made us feel completely at ease. She also did a great job caring for our two cats. Roxanne sent twice-daily updates with photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She was also very flexible when scheduling our meet and greet, especially when we had to adjust due to some medical issues with our dog. This was easily the smoothest experience we’ve had leaving our pets. If she’s available the next time we go away, we will absolutely book with Roxanne again. Highly recommend! 🐾

About: Of course I love animals, but what matters more to me is noticing who your pet actually is. Are they the kind of dog who needs to sniff the same corner for five minutes before moving on? Are they a little shy at first and pretending not to care? Do they get excited easily and need someone calm around them? Are they a cat who wants company, but absolutely not too much company? I really enjoy figuring out those little things. I’m gentle, patient, and very respectful of each pet’s routine. I don’t believe in rushing them or treating every animal the same. Some pets need play and attention, some need slow walks and quiet reassurance, and some just need someone kind nearby so the house does not feel empty. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in a way that still feels familiar to them. I’m also very careful with instructions. Feeding routines, medications, walk preferences, favorite toys, things that scare them, how they like to be greeted, whether they are allowed on the couch. I want to know all of it. I know these details are not “extra.” They are usually the things that make a pet feel secure. I’ll also send updates and photos, not just to say everything is fine, but so you can actually feel connected to them while you are away. My childhood friend and roommate, Matin, may also help me sometimes, and you may see her in some of my photos. She has had pets since childhood and fostered animals for several years, so she is very used to different personalities, nervous pets, affectionate pets, and animals who need a little extra patience. She is calm, loving, and very responsible, and I trust her completely with animals. Between the two of us, your pet will be cared for by people who genuinely like being around animals, but who also understand that trust matters. I’ll treat your pet with warmth, patience, and care, and I’ll treat your home and instructions with respect. This year, much of my work is remote, which gives me real flexibility in my schedule. That means I’m able to spend unrushed, attentive time with pets, not just quick check-ins, but actual companionship, care, and presence. I can shape my day around walks, visits, feeding times, play, and quiet company, depending on what each pet needs. My childhood friend and roommate, Matin, who is included in the pictures, also helps me out with my Rover schedules. My home is my cat Lilo’s safe little kingdom, so I can’t host other pets here. But I’m very happy to come to your home, meet outside for walks, or figure out a setup that feels easy and comfortable for you and your pet.

Attentive to my cats, responsive to communication with me, and overall a responsible and kind person I felt very comfortable leaving my cats with for several days. Danielle took great care of them and connected with them quickly and easily upon her first visit. My cats were well cared for, as was my home. It was almost hard to tell someone else had been there. I would recommend Danielle if you are looking for a warm and friendly person to care for your pets and send you daily updates with photos. She did a great job and would definitely hire again.

Outstanding Care and Peace of Mind Due to health reasons, I had to find a new pet sitter very last minute after years with the same person, and I was extremely anxious—especially since our 10-year-old Labrador, Bleu, gets stressed when boarded and requires medications at very specific times for arthritis and seizures. From the Meet & Greet, I knew Dion was the right fit. She was reliable, professional, and an excellent communicator even before the booking began. Every day she sent updates and photos, which truly put my mind at ease. She followed all medication instructions perfectly and took wonderful care of Bleu. When we had to return home early due to an impending storm, Dion offered to get groceries for us and even to stay until we arrived in case our flight was delayed. She also checked in afterward and left our home spotless with fresh bedding ,folded laundry and more. Most importantly, Bleu loved her. We feel incredibly lucky to have found Dion and would trust her again without hesitation. Highly recommend!

FAQs for House Sitting - Haverford

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Haverford on Rover is $49.05 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 5,829 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Haverford. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Haverford walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Haverford maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Haverford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Haverford. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
