“Dantasia was awesome! This was my first time using Rover and she made the experience excellent! My dog loved her and her family and returned to me as happy and healthy as she was dropped off.”

“I cannot express how appreciative my wife and I are for Tonia’s care in watching our pup. She had never been boarded before and we were very nervous about it. Despite our dog Maya having a lot of separation anxiety and some reactivity to people we felt reassured knowing that someone who genuinely loves dogs and has a very calm environment was watching her. Thank you so much for your help Tonia!”

“Simba had a great first night stay with Kiersten! He got along well with her 2 dogs and came hope nice and tired! Kiersten is super! She asked lots of questions and made sure she knew how Simba was and made sure I was comfortable with what she had planned while Simba was there. She sent pics throughout the day and treated him like her own! Simba will be going back next week for a longer stay as I know he will be happy at Kiersten’s!”

“With the right sitter, I think having our dogs stay in a person's home is significantly less stressful than staying in a standard boarding kennel. This was definitely the case with Amanda and her family. Our boys, Mack (a doberman) and Luke (a Miniature Schnauzer), did very well there and got along well with their family dog and cats. Mack had some intestinal problems while we were out of town and Amanda went the extra mile to make sure he was well cared for and recovered without issue. She also provided regular updates on our boys even though we had no expectation of this, which was great. When I came to pick the dogs up, I saw them lounging in the front room before they knew I was there. They looked right at home. We wouldn't hesitate to have Amanda take care of our boys in the future.”
“Thank you Beka and Ryan, I feel so comfortable knowing that Sandie is with you guys when we have the opportunity to spend a night away, and Sandie is so comfortable there that she is right at home. Sandie loves her sleep overs with you.”

“Karin was absolutely amazing! She opened her home up to my puppy Bentley! She gave exceptional care to him. She went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable! She gave updates throughout the days she kept him and he even interacted with her dog. I give her 12/10 stars. She was absolutely wonderful and trustworthy with my baby boy!”

“Katie did such a great job watching Reggie while my husband and I were out of town for a few days! We received plenty of updates and could tell he was well taken care of when we picked him up. Will definitely be using Katie again!”

“I loved the daily pictures from Katie. It made me feel closer to them. They had a great vacation with Katie while we had a vacation. Thank you Katie. We will use you again for sure!”

“Sandy is a godsend for our family!!! It is so comforting to know our dog Bella will have a loving home to go to when we are going out of town. And Bella gets so excited when she sees us packing up her things to go "on vacation". She gets along very well with Sandy's pets, and we absolutely love the daily updates and photos/videos that Sandy sends to us. We highly recommend Sandy as your next pet sitter!”

“This was our first time with Dana and Jason, who were great. We were very comfortable with leaving Ellie there overnight. Dana sent pictures and gave us updates. We will be using them again in July.”

“Debbie and her husband Randy are great! This was our first time using Rover. The care Benny received was awesome! From the moment we met during our meet and greet Debbie was super nice and knowledgeable about how to handle the matters to avoid stressing out our little puppy so he does not get nervous, scared, or traumatized. Debby sent us a picture every day with a note to let us know how he was doing. We felt so comfortable being gone knowing he was in such great care. We will definitely use Debby again!”

“This is our first time using rover and I can’t recommend Kimberely enough. She kept us updated with videos and pictures. I could tell how much she loved our dog. She is so sweet and we will absolutely use her again.”

“Janice is super friendly and very thorough. We really enjoyed the photos and updates she sent us over the weekend. Janice is good with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Our dog came home happy and we know she was in good hands with Janice and her family! We work forward to working with Janice again soon!”

“Bonnie was great to work with especially for my first-time boarding our cat, Max. We had setup a meet and greet prior to boarding so I could meet her and see where Max would be staying, this really helped to put me at ease. Bonnie made sure she understood my instructions for caring for Max. She wanted to help easy Max’s stress to his new environment. This was extremely important as cats have a lot of stress from being boarded. She went above and beyond by going out and getting him special treats to make him feel comfortable. Bonnie's soft voice, laidback personality and love for cats was just what my sweet Max needed. She had been a longtime cat owner herself until the passing of her fur babies. She was excited to have a cat once again in her home. Bonnie was great at keeping me updated by sending me messages, pictures and adorable videos of my sweet kitty. That really helped easy my concerns and guilt of leaving my little fur baby. She truly treated Max like her own pet. She had all kinds of toys, a special water bowl that kept the water fresh and the best litterbox and litter I’ve ever seen. I am ordering it myself. I was almost afraid Max wouldn’t want to come home because he was getting so much attention and was being spoiled. The number one most important thing for me was that Max not be kept in a cage. He’s only 9 months and has a lot of energy. We were gone for almost two weeks and I felt he needed to be in a home environment. Bonnie allowed Max pretty much free range of her house. I also appreciated that Bonnie only takes one family's cat(s) at a time. Max has never been around other cats and I was afraid that would not be a good situation if they did not get along. I highly recommend Bonnie and I'll will most definitely use her next time I need to board my fur baby!”

“April had a great experience with Michelle. She was, of course, happy to see us but upon her return home she was very relaxed and easily jumped in to her usual schedule. We definitely recommend Michelle for your dog care needs .”

“Elisheba was wonderful with my dog. She gave me daily updates on how she was doing and sent me fun pictures of the adventures they had while I was gone. I highly recommend her as a sitter for your pet as she has a true love for animals and she will welcome them into her home and take care of them as if it was her own pet.”

“We have used Aparajita several times now and hope she never stops offering her care! She is amazing every time and it’s the best feeling to be able to leave your fur baby somewhere knowing they will be well taken care of. Thank you again for being Kuma’s best step mom!”

“Oscar enjoyed his stay and came home perfectly relaxed from a stress free time away from home. We were very pleased with the care he received from this family!”

Kelsey provides a calm, safe environment for your dog to blend in with her two dogs while you need to be out of town. She did a great job taking care of our boy, Gilbert, and sends pictures so you can see how your dog is doing. Kelsey is great at communication and easy to work with. Gilbert enjoyed his stay!

April did not bat an eye when I explained some of the challenges of my smaller older dog. She kept a watchful eye for changes in both dogs, and informed me promptly, especially because they are older and the environment was new to them. She was responsive and provided pictures while I was away. Both dogs came back exhausted but well and adjusted nicely to being back home.

We found Rover after a family member who was supposed to watch our dog got sick. Robert was able to accommodate our last minute request to watch our dog, Zara, for a week. At the Meet & Greet, he was very gentle and attentive to Zara and she took to him almost immediately. He asked about her schedule, likes/dislikes, etc. He made feel us feel comfortable and put our minds at ease. Robert communicated with us often, sending pictures, videos, and updates. Zara was happy and well cared for. I would definitely recommend Robert, he's a great dog sitter!

If you are looking for someone, reliable, communicative, honest/trustworthy, respectful, and very loving, Morgan is the one for you! Morgan went out of her way to make a last-minute booking work for us, taking a 45 minute drive TO OUR HOME just to do a meet and greet to make me feel more comfortable (my puppy was boarded in her home). Morgan kept me in the know with my pup’s care, was very patient, and didn’t make me feel like it was a hassle at all for her to watch my puppy (despite how high maintenance she is)! It was clear when I got my puppy home, that she had been very well loved! I am very thankful to have found her, and if you book her, you will be too! I seriously cannot say it enough, Morgan is amazing! I will definitely be using her again in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
