“John did a great job with our dog Candy. He even picked up on a thing I forgot to tell him which was that our dog won’t eat or drink unless her bowls are on carpet. I had left her bowls on tile and he saw that she was eyeballing them. He moved them To the carpet and she ate and drank. I love that he was that in tune with her.”
About: As a dog owner myself, I truly understand how much your pup means to you, they’re family, not just a pet. I currently have an 8-month-old Golden Retriever puppy (Moomin) of my own, so I know firsthand the energy, playfulness, and training that goes into raising a happy, well-adjusted dog. Over the past year, I’ve handled daily walks, feeding, playtime, and all the little routines that keep a dog happy and healthy. I love taking dogs to the park for fresh air, playtime, and socializing with other pups, but I’m just as happy keeping them calm company at home if that’s what they prefer, I adapt to each dog’s personality and energy level. I’m attentive to every little cue, whether it’s excitement, anxiety, or just wanting a belly rub, and I make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable the whole time. I also like to keep you updated with quick messages and photos throughout our time together, so you always know your pup is happy, safe, and having a great time. Pet care fits really well into my routine. I’m a full-time software engineer working a hybrid schedule with flexible hours (10 AM–3 PM). I’m typically out of the house on Mondays and Tuesdays, work from home the rest of the weekdays, and I’m completely off on weekends. My schedule is also flexible enough that I can adjust days if needed to match your pup’s needs. On the days I’m home, I have plenty of time for walks, play, and feeding, and I’m usually happy to have a dog keep me company while I work. I regularly cuddle and work alongside my own Golden Retriever puppy, so I’m used to balancing focused work with giving a dog attention, short breaks, and check-ins throughout the day. It means your pup won’t just be looked after, they’ll genuinely have company and companionship all day long. In my own home, I make sure dogs feel comfortable and settled right away, giving them a calm space to relax along with plenty of playtime and cuddles. Since I have my own Golden Retriever puppy, my home is already dog-friendly and set up for a happy, active pet. I take dogs for regular walks and trips to the park, letting them socialize with other dogs when they enjoy it, or keeping things calmer and quieter if that suits them better. I always adapt to each dog’s personality and energy level rather than sticking to one routine for every pet. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I stick closely to their normal routine, feeding schedule, and any specific instructions the owner gives me, so the dog feels as little disruption as possible. I’m attentive to their comfort and cues throughout, and I send regular updates with messages and photos so owners always know how their pup is doing.
“Natalie was fantastic ! Not only did we get daily updates but photos too :-) Our dog Buddy was well taken care of. Not only will we recommend Natalie but we will be using her again next year on our vacay. Thank you Natalie :-)”

“We are so grateful to Debbie and Randy for the great care they provided for our Luna. It was clear from the pictures she sent that she was very happy and comfortable. I highly recommend them. In my opinion they get 10 STARS. ❤️”

“Michael and Anne always take great care of our 12 year old lab Brody and we don't worry one bit while we are away. Brody gets plenty of walks and TLC and they put our yoga mats on any hard surface floors as he is afraid of slipping in his old age. He is always happy to go there!”

“Marley had a wonderful time at Lisa's house! We were so nervous to leave Marley as he is so "new" to this world. Lisa was great at sending multiple photos each day to us which gave me the peace to enjoy my time away. Her family loved on Marley too! Highly recommend using Lisa to love on your pet :)”

“Excellent stay for my pup! She was loved and well cared for. I received pictures and updates the entire stay. Would highly recommend Jennifer and Robert!”

“Kimberely was the best sitter I have had. I could tell my dog thoroughly enjoyed her time. She stopped to say thank you to Kimberely. Kim creates a loving, safe and fun environment. She watches several dogs at a time which was the best mix for my dog. The dogs were having a dog party every day. I already have Kim booked for my dog's next stay. I know my dog misses Kim already!”

“Dariana was an excellent sitter for Luna. She was responsive, flexible, and provided regular updates. Luna very clearly was happy and comfortable during her stay. I would 100% recommend her! 😊”

About: I’ve owned cats and dogs over the years. My family raised kittens for years when I was in high-school. I also had a dog of my own for 15 years. I’m always the first to volunteer to care for friends and family members pets when they are out of town or need extra help walking them during the work week. I am currently pet free and miss having furry friends around! I work evenings so I have plenty of time during the day to walk pets and take them on adventures! I’m happy to house sit or keep pets overnight as well, as long as they can be left for 4-6 hours in the evening! Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities. I have a dog park at my apartment complex, and take lots of daily walks as well. In your home, I make every effort to keep your pet on their normal schedule, including feeding, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and plenty of affection. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I’ll always treat them like one of my own and keep you updated with photos and messages while you’re away. My 14-year-old son is gentle, respectful of animals, and has grown up around both dogs and cats, but all pet care and responsibility is handled by me.
“Michelle was an excellent dog sitter. We knew Cookie was in safe hands while we enjoyed some Fall camping. When I got back into cell phone service on Sunday I was greeted with dozens of pictures of Cookie having fun and going for walks. He got a bath as well, and smells lovely. :-)”

“We had a last-minute need for a sitter, and Rachel and Nick did a great job of accommodating and taking care of Olive. We got nice daily updates and were confident that she was doing well. And when we were running late in getting back into town, they were able to help with a late schedule change to extend their sitting. We were very happy with the overall service and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.”

About: I love animals, and have a cat and dog of my own. I have a fenced yard for dogs to run around in. I am doing this so my dog can have playdates(!) and just because I love animals. I work from home Mon/Fri so I focus on weekend stays, and only accept only one family at a time. So rest assured that your cat/dog will be well taken care of! I work from home Monday and Friday, and my work is pretty flexible on other days. I go on walks every day and live minutes away from a dog park as well! I have a fenced yard and a dog to play with. My dog and cat are both fully vaccinated. I have a dedicated pet room that can be closed off for separation if needed, and a crate as well.
“Siri was an excellent care taker for my baby Pom! She was there with my pet the entire weekend. Helped me discover a food brand my dog likes. I thank Siri so much for making Suga feel at home. I plan to use her again!”

“Forest had a great time with Rebecca and Aaron. They were very accommodating with our schedule and made Forest feel like one of the pack. He got to run and play with other pups, and enjoyed lots of snuggles, too.”

“Biscuit was only 15 weeks old and was skeptical leaving her with a sitter but Lauren was great . Kept me posted at all times and biscuit was happy the whole time she was with her Highly recommend”

“Susan is so thoughtful and attentive. It was our first time leaving our boys with her and she did a great job with her communication with us and care of our pugs. We will use her again!”

“Sandy made the whole experience wonderful for me and my dog. I was traveling by RV and wanted to explore the area but I didn’t want to leave my dog in the RV unattended. I located Sandy on Rover several days before I arrived and she assured me my dog would be safe and happy in her home. Sandy was very welcoming and showed me around her home and yard. I am very pleased and grateful with the service she provided.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sharonville
We are not used to send our boy to a Pet sitter as we always travel with him. He tends to be very anxious (myself included) if he is not with us. This time we couldn't take Tedy with us and I had to find a pet sitter - I have to say that I couldn't be happier that I've found Johana - she is such a thoughtful, caring and always present pet sitter. She kept us updated with videos and pictures of our Tedy and she managed his anxiety just perfectly. I am glad I found her and we will be using her services in a future.

Meaghan was absolutely amazing with Louie! She was so kind, responded quickly, and made me feel completely comfortable leaving him in her care. She is incredibly trustworthy and you can tell she genuinely cares about the animals she watches. I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable and caring, and I will definitely be using her again! ❤️🐾

We met Laura and her family last year and they have kept Benny twice now! We absolutely love this family and they take great care of Benny!! He’s always happy when we drop off and pick up. He gets along so well with her dogs and enjoys all the cuddles from the kiddos! 😊❤️🐶

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
