“John did a great job with our dog Candy. He even picked up on a thing I forgot to tell him which was that our dog won’t eat or drink unless her bowls are on carpet. I had left her bowls on tile and he saw that she was eyeballing them. He moved them To the carpet and she ate and drank. I love that he was that in tune with her.”
“April was absolutely wonderful with our dog, Teddy! From the very beginning, she was communicative and flexible, even allowing a pre-meeting to make sure our dogs got along—which gave me great peace of mind. During his stay, Teddy had a fabulous time with plenty of walks, attention, and companionship. I could tell he felt right at home. April and her family were kind, accommodating, and clearly experienced with dogs. I wouldn't hesitate to book with her again!”

“Debbie and her husband Randy are great! This was our first time using Rover. The care Benny received was awesome! From the moment we met during our meet and greet Debbie was super nice and knowledgeable about how to handle the matters to avoid stressing out our little puppy so he does not get nervous, scared, or traumatized. Debby sent us a picture every day with a note to let us know how he was doing. We felt so comfortable being gone knowing he was in such great care. We will definitely use Debby again!”

“Sheila and Jeff did such an amazing job watching our Frenchie Norman for 10 days. We received lots of pictures and updates daily. Norman had a great time playing with their 2 dogs and they truly treated him as their own. It was such a blessing to find them and have piece of mind that he was in good hands so we could enjoy our vacation and not have to worry. We will be using them again for ALL our dog sitting needs. Thank you guys so much!!!!!”

“Melissa was GREAT! We needed someone for a last minute schedule & she was able to accommodate us. Lulu has never stayed with a “stranger” before but absolutely loved Melissa enough she probably would have stayed forever lol She sent lots of updates and pictures and I could tell Lulu was having the best time! We will most definitely be using her the next time we come in to town ?”

“Annie had a great time staying with Christie and her husband John. She came home happy, well fed and clean. Over the weekend, we received several cute pics too which gave us peace of mind. Thank you Christie and John!”

“Michelle is the nicest pet sitter I never met before, she keep us updated with tons of photos every day and let us feel extremely safe when we are not close to my dog. My dog looks happy through out the stay and eat exactly what I told her to feed. Before she give my dog treats, she even texted us and asked us if it is okay to give him this and that. I would highly recommend her as your pet sitter no matter long or short stay.”

“Karla was amazing! She kept our little Shih Tzu for 5 days. We received several pics and videos during our trip. It was obvious our pup was having fun and being well cared for. Highly recommend Karla and we’ll be coming back to her for sure!”

“Leslie was absolutely amazing with my 6 month old pit bull. She did a wonderful job with him. Thank you for watching my fur baby and I would definitely recommend with her and book again.”

“First time leaving my dog Danny with Susan and she was a great dog sitter during my weeklong trip. Great communication and very responsive. Would definitely have her board my dog again.”

About: I had a Jack Russel Chihuahua for 14 wonderful years. I've also had Aussies, cats and kittens, parakeets, cockatiels, hamsters, and rabbits over the years. I know the struggle that comes with taking the best care of your pet while you work and vacation. My dog didn't board well, so I really appreciated all my Rover sitters! I am looking to offer the kind of care you'd want for your own pet. I am hoping to help just like the other Rover sitters have helped me with my lovely crazy dog in the past. Every pet has it's quirks! Just another retired dog mom looking out for the other pet parents out in the world! I work from home with a pretty open schedule. The only time I'm really gone is Saturday for a few hours. I can take a lot of breaks and spend some time with your pet. I am comfortable with most situations and animal personalities. I have had anxious pets so I understand that sometimes steps need to be taken to be respected by the pets. I can take care of feeding, playing, short walks
“Shannon & her daughter Michaela were amazing sitters for my dog! Minnie got plenty of cuddles and playtime! Shannon was awesome and sent lots of pictures. Definitely recommend her to anyone!!”

I’m flexible for people who can bring there animals to me. If you need me I’m there to serve you. I’m willing to work with you on your schedule I live in a quiet neighborhood. I will take them out as needed on leash, I have a large home for the animals to have their own space if needed. I’m home all day so I’ll be with them to make sure everything run smoothly
“Kanika and Jan were great! They sent updates frequently and have been so understanding and accommodating with my schedule. Will continue booking with them in the future, I highly recommend them! They also administered medication to my dog when he was sick. They are awesome!!”

“What a great hostess. We knew Elfie was in good hands the moment we dropped her off. Appreciated the images while we were away. Plus, I made a mistake with my booking and Ainura showed me a lot of grace and understanding. Highly recommend.”

“Amanda and her family have been my Rover dog sitter for the past few years, and my dog has always received 5 star care. The last few times I’ve dropped my dog off at Amanda’s house, one or more of her children were waiting in the driveway when I arrived, and they were very excited to greet my dog. That small gesture lets me know that my dog is loved and given attention when I can’t be there with him.”

About: As a SAHM and lifelong animal lover, I understand how important it is to find someone you trust to care for your pet like family. I have an 11-year old Golden Retriever of my own so I’m experienced with dogs of all ages. Whether your pup needs a fun walk, loving companionship while you’re away, or your cat needs attentive care, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I’m currently a SAHM and with both of my kids starting school soon, I will have a lot of free time throughout the day to care for your pet. I have a fenced in yard and an older dog that gets along well with other dogs. I walk my dog daily and look forward to walking and spending time with yours.
“2nd stay. My dog doesn't eat or have a very poor appetite if she is not with me. They kept trying to feed her. They also took her to a nice walk in park and sent me pictures. I really recommend them.”

“Johana and her husband were absolutely amazing!! If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. They took such good care of our Stella!! I never had to worry, they loved and cared for her so much and made her so comfortable!! I would recommend every time, your fur baby will have so much fun and be so taken care of!”

Justin was great with Oliver, who is a high energy Australian Cattle Dog, and can be quite the handful. He responded quickly, kept us up to date on Oliver’s antics, and sent multiple pictures. Oliver seemed to have a great time with Justin and we would absolutely use him again!

Evelyn took wonderful care of my senior cat. He had been refusing to eat, but she patiently tried a few different approaches and was able to get him eating again. She also sent plenty of updates throughout her visits, which gave me great peace of mind. I highly recommend her!

Kylie was a wonderful caretaker for our beloved dog, Tara. She understood about the abuse this little lady had suffered and gave her the extra cuddles and love she needed. Kylie sent photos and brief updates while we were away which were all thoroughly appreciated! I’d recommend Kylie to anyone who needs to leave their special friend behind while they travel!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
