“Our dog Sammy had a great time at Melissa’s! He loved snuggling in their laps and having some fun doggy siblings to play with for the week. She kept me in the loop with what he was up to and took great care of him ☺️”
“Lisa was very good in handling oscar and socializing with her pets and regular boarders. She went out of the way to socialize her boarders with Oscar. She is very responsive and responsible. She bailed me out at the last moment which helped me and my family to go on an unplanned vacation.”

“Our golden retriever Chelsea had a great time with Kanika and Jan! We really appreciated the meet and greet prior, frequent photo updates, flexibility in our timing with our travel, and the great effort put forth in considering Chelsea's needs and preferences. Highly recommend!”

“A hundred thousand star review!!! Catherine and her husband...and Jovie took so much care of my Fred. Met all my expectations...then blew them out of the water!!! 500% recommend...I think we found our new "other family" when I have to travel. Stars willing it goes both ways!!! Fred loved his stay! Recommended 100 %!!!”

“The best part about leaving our dogs with Gabe is they are so happy to leap out of the car and run up to him! They are obviously very comfortable there. Thanks again Gabe for a worry free trip. We very much appreciate the work you do for us. You are a blessing!”

“Our 7yo mini goldendoodle stayed with Sabrina and her family for a week. She was happy when we picked her up and has been napping steadily since we brought her home. We did miss routine photo updates so will definitely ask for that specifically next time. Highly Recommended!”

“Sara and Craig watched my dog, Hazel for 9 nights while we were out of town. They were the most accommodating and allowed Hazel to visit beforehand to make sure our dog was compatible with their family and dogs. They sent occasionally photo updates, which I appreciated. We appreciate their extra love and cuddles to Hazel especially during thunderstorms.”

“Michelle is a wonderful pet sitter! Her house is meticulous and she has a large fenced yard. She treated our pup lke she was her own. She played with her, took her for walks and even let her sleep with her. She sent me lots of pictures and videos which was much appreciated. We’ve been using Rover for a couple of years and this was by far our best experience yet!.”

“April was great you could tell she really loves dogs she did a great job with my puppy Mabel and I would recommend her to anyone! Unfortunately I won't be able to use her again since my dog will get pretty big pretty fast but for you all you small dog owners out there I definitely recommend using April she is wonderful!”

“Aparajita accepted a last minute request for boarding and took amazing care of Sugar. She kept us informed about how Sugar was doing daily with photos and videos. About: Our home sits on 10 beautiful acres, giving dogs plenty of room to explore, run, and enjoy the outdoors. Set on a charming late-1800s Victorian farm, your pup will be surrounded by peaceful country views and the sights of friendly farm animals. It's a truly special place for dogs to play, relax, and feel right at home. My husband and I have always loved dogs, and we would be honored to care for yours while you're away. Every dog who stays with us receives lots of personal attention, affection, and exercise. We've recently added a brand-new kennel building designed with your dog's comfort and safety in mind, along with a large fenced dog run where they can stretch their legs and have fun. Weather permitting, each dog enjoys 3-4 supervised play sessions every day. Our goal is to provide plenty of both physical exercise and mental stimulation during their stay. Our barn kennels are equipped with dog doors, allowing dogs to move freely between their comfortable indoor kennel and their shaded outdoor run throughout the day until quiet hours. Whether they're playing, relaxing, or simply taking in the country air, your dog will be well cared for and thoroughly loved here. We love giving dogs the opportunity to truly be dogs each day by providing the mental and physical stimulation they need. With plenty of space for fetch, walks, and lots of outdoor fun, every day is an adventure. We offer both structured and unstructured playtime, tailored to each dog's personality and energy level. Structured activities may include fetch, frisbee, water play, leashed walks, tug-of-war, and more. We have recently built a beautiful facility with indoor/outdoor kennels, along with an expansive fenced play area where dogs can run, explore, and have fun. We always ensure that each dog enjoys at least 3-4 long, stimulating play sessions every day (weather permitting).
“As always, our Wheaten had a great time during his 4 days with Miss Cora! She loves and cares for him, gives us pics, videos and updates daily, and makes it a fun outing for him, and easy for us!”

“Sheila and Jeff were great with our pup! They asked lots of great questions before our dog's stay to ensure she would be comfortable. They took awesome care of our dog, and sent lots of photos. They have a very nice and secure fenced in yard, and their two dogs are very sweet and playful. We will definitely use them for future stays!”

“We had a great experience with Allie. She was a great communicator, sent pictures and updates daily and able to administer our dog's daily medication without issue. I'm so happy to have found someone so close to home!”

“Koa had a great stay with Kathleen and her family! We got lots of cute picture updates. Will definitely use her again for future doggie sitting. I think she found her second family!”

About: I am just returning to this app. I used to full time dog walk and sit through my community in Hinesville, Georgia and I am now living back in Ohio, where I am originally from. I have been caring for cats and dogs my entire life. I have a lot of experience with senior dogs, especially as my dog has had heart disease, a collapsing trachea, and arthritis for years and requires every day medication and has to eat a special diet and help going up and down stairs. I know how to properly gently lift a dog that can not fully jump or climb on their own. My eldest and most loved passed last year at 13 years old. I got her when she was a puppy and I was 16 years old and fully trained her myself and helped her through her senior years. I am self employed and only work part time and I make my own schedule. I love spending time with animals and would love to spend time with yours weekly. I walk dogs to help them release energy or anxiety etc. unless the owner prefers drop ins where I let the dogs in the yard to play. I play with their favorite toys with them to help them use their energy. I feed them the correct amount they need and give them lots of pets, cuddles and affection. I make cats feel as comfortable and happy as possible
“Barbara is excellent! She sent pics and updates daily and she spoiled my dog with several walks throughout the day! She treated him as if he was her own. She is a great communicator and very responsive. I couldn't have asked for a better first stay experience and I happily recommend Barbara!”

“As usual, Michael and Annie took great care of our senior lab. He is having issues with traction on any type of hardwood or laminated floor, and they used our yoga mats and even supplemented with some mats of their own! Brody was happy and content and loved his daily and sometimes twice daily walks. They sent me tons of photos - which I really appreciated! They are very special people!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Middletown
Mckenzie was great! Her dog Ducky and my dog Teddy became fast friends, and I felt guilty making him leave to go home. Haha! Mckenzie's backyard and friendly dogs, along with her experience and sweet personality, lead to a great sitter experience. Thank you, Mckenzie, for taking good care of my fur baby!

Emily was a wonderful host for my dog! She was very accommodating on a last minute booking and even provided a meet and greet prior to boarding my pup. She worked with me to ensure my pup was going to have a stress-free stay. I have a high energy Australian shepherd and daily I was sent updates with pictures and notes of how he was doing. Emily’s family welcomed my pup as their own and when my pup returned home you could visibly see how happy and well taken care of he was! Thank you Emily and happy new year!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
