“Ryan is great! He has watched Niko, our GS mix a few times now. This last time we were gone for over a week, when we picked up Niko he was freshly bathed and tuckered out from his 3mile walk. We hope to use Ryan again!!!”

“John took great care of our dog, and was excellent to work with. Prompt communication, and he was very accommodating and supportive with an injury our dog has. Highly recommend.”

“Logan took great care of my dog Chanel. It was Chanel's first time ever being away from us for so long and Logan made everything easier for us and Chanel. Logan provided multiple pictures and various updates that kept our minds at ease. Will definitely book again.”

“Tara far exceeded our expectations in caring for our 13 year old Goldendoodle. Tara provided incredible care and it’s clear her family is deeply committed to the pets for which they care. We will definitely bring Baylee back, because she already misses them! thank you to Tara and her family!”

“Rachel did a wonderful job taking care of our dog, Bink. She and her family gave him so much love and attention, and it was clear he felt right at home with them. I really appreciated the regular updates and pictures — they gave me total peace of mind while we were away. Bink was happy, relaxed, and clearly adored. I would absolutely trust Rachel again for future stays.”

“Bethany was wonderful! I knew Archie was in good hands and that he was being well taken care of. All the pictures she sent throughout the week made it clear he was having a great time!”

“This was my first experience with Rover and Joanne made it a great one. I've not been away from my puppy since I got her last August and I was completely comfortable with the excellent care she was receiving in my absence. I would definitely board Zelda here again.”

“Sheila and Jeff were so wonderful! Our dog stayed there for 12 days and we got pictures and updates daily. She was loved and cared for in our absence- we would definitely bring her back again!”

“Derik and Megan are wonderful. They took on a challenge or what I would call a challenge by caring for my little boogie baby. They treated him so well as if he was their own. They kept me updated with pictures and text. I wouldn't ask for a better dog sitter. They made us feel at ease with our baby knowing it was our first time ever boarding him. Thank you again!”

“Catherine was very accommodating and responsive. Appreciate all her photos and text updates. Adam was a pleasure to deal with, too. Hoping to interact with them more often!”

“Sabrina was great! She treated my dog like family and in turn my dog did the same :) Scout absolutely loved staying there and enjoyed herself so much. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area if you are in need of a dog sitter/boarding. A+++!”

“Tim & Kasia are absolutely amazing!! They have a calming energy and spirit that can be felt. They genuinely care ahout the pets they board. Our dog, Ozzy, who is sometimes rambunctious, high strung and not always keen to meeting new people, was their guest for 19 days. Tim and Kasia were patient with Ozzy as he became more comfortable and trusting. They didn't force themselves on him. They gave him space to explore their fantastic fenced in yard, showed him affection once he allowed it, played fetch with his favorite toy and gave him the attention he needed once he settled in. Tim and Kasia sent us daily videos and were open and thankful for input or suggestions. I highly recommend this lovely couple! They will be our "go to" anytime we need care.”

“Rosie was excellent! I can’t say thank you enough! She sent me photos almost every hour! She made sure my puppy was well! Great communicator! I would definitely come back to Rosie!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Carlisle
I had an amazing experience with Lillyan! From the very beginning, she was professional, communicative, and clearly passionate about caring for animals. She took the time to get to know my puppy George's personality, routine, and specific needs, which immediately put me at ease. Throughout the stay, I received regular updates, photos, and videos, which meant so much and reassured me that my puppy was happy and well cared for. It was obvious that my pup was getting plenty of attention, exercise, and love. When I picked my pup up, he was relaxed, happy, and clearly had a great time. It’s such a relief to find someone you can fully trust with your pet, and I’m so grateful for the care she provided. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and attentive dog sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
