“Melissa was a great caretaker for my shy kitty. She was really patient with my cat and sent great updates. I really appreciate that Melissa was consistent in her care and communication. I definitely recommend her and would seek her out again for taking care of my cat.”
“Jordan has been a wonderful sister to take care of our cat for our 10 days trip. She took pictures and videos and sent visit card very organized and timely to make us feel very comfortable and reassured:)”

“Taylor did a fabulous job with my fur babies! She stopped in for 30 minutes to let them out, spent quality time playing with them, and even tried to hand feed them to make sure they felt loved and cared for while we were away. She took great pictures and videos of her interactions with them, which gave me so much peace of mind. You can truly tell she has a heart for animals and treats them like her own. I highly recommend Taylor to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, compassionate, and attentive to care for their pets!”

About: I have worked at a boarding facility for four years. I played with dogs and cats there. I also have a dog as a pet. I’m in school right now. I’m available until 4:00 Tuesdays. I am also available all day Thursdays and Fridays. I have weekend availability too. I’m available all day weekends too. I feed my dog and walk her. I check her water daily. I play with her and give her treats. I enjoy spending time with her.
“Madigan was wonderful to work with! We were very nervous about getting a dog sitter for the first time and she made us feel completely comfortable with a meet and greet beforehand and proactive communication! Our dog loved her as well, and she wasn’t at all intimidated by his size and excitement!”

“Gronk is typically an anxious pup who takes time to warm up to new people, but has quickly become a fan of Oli. Oli has been a great communicator, reliable, and great with Gronk's quirks. We are so thankful for Oli's help with Gronk as we are adapting to having a newborn at home.”

About: As a nurse practitioner, families already trust me with something more precious than anything – their health. That same professionalism, responsibility, compassion, or what I bring to caring for your pets. But beyond my medical background, I have an extreme love for animals. Whether it's dogs, cats, or exotics, I care for every pet as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and understood while you're away. You'll get the perfect mix of medical professionalism, trust in genuine animal passion – a combination that gives you total peace of mind and gives your pets a new best friend while you're away. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine, my schedule is flexible, which allows me to build time in for pet visits walks and it's extended care. I prioritize keeping a balance schedule so that way I can be dependable. That means you'll have the peace of mind, knowing I'm organized, committed and available to work on your needs. I provide pet sitting exclusively in your home so your pets can stay comfortable in their own from your space. I'll make sure they have everything they need fresh food and water potty breaks or litter changes, walks, playtime, and lots of love.

“Ann was great taking care of my two fur babies. More than just needing to be let out to go to the bathroom, they need love and affection when I am gone and she delivered. She arrived on time and cuddled with them so they felt like they weren't missing anything. I was quite happy with her services!”

“This was my first time hiring a dog sitter for drop-in services, so I was nervous. My dog is typically skittish around new people, but she immediately warmed up to Mana - bringing her all sorts of toys and wanting to sit in her lap. This was a very good sign. Mana completed three visits per day while we were out of town for three days. Her communication about my dog was excellent!! I was notified when she arrived, she sent pictures throughout their time together, and she notified me when she left. The progress reports were completed immediately after each visit. The peace of mind that I had was priceless. I will be keeping her as our long-term sitter and for checks during my long work days. I highly recommend her.”

About: I have loved being around and caring for animals ever since I was a little girl! I’ve driven my mom crazy over the years with how many strays I try to rescue haha but, I genuinely do adore animals and have always had a passion/soft spot for them! I currently work a part time job and am a full time nursing student! I still have a decent amount of free time though, and would love to fill it with something I enjoy :) I am very accommodating to every pets needs and I’ll make sure they get the care and love they need in an environment they know!
“We worked with Julie requesting walks, play, and meals for nearly 6 months until we recently moved and she was an absolute Godsend. She cared for my puppy (from age 2-7 months) while we were working like he was her own and I can't put into words the peace of mind she afforded me. She sends photos of your pet with each visit, was extremely accommodating of our chaotic schedules, and is so, so thoughtful. We will never find another like her!”

About: I’ve had many different pets in my life including dogs, cats, bunnies, hamsters, hedgehogs and tortoises which I’ve helped take care of. I’ve done pet sitting for many of my family members and friends. I’m in college with a pre-vet focus and love all animals. I also have experience shadowing doctors and working in the vet-med field. I would love to take care of your pets while you’re away. I usually work an 8 hour shift 3 days a week from 2-10 but a willing to walk and exercise the dog before and after work. I also shadow at the vets office Monday mending and Tuesday evening for a few hours. I love walking the dogs and am meticulous about following the owner’s instructions. I love to send pictures and will take the dog to the park or other adventures if approved by the owner.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
