“I can’t say enough about how great Debbie is. We left two dogs with her. They have such a comfortable home for dogs with ample beds, they have a very secure fenced in backyard, but most of all”

“Monte did a wonderful job keeping tabs on my pup! He was kind and welcoming with the introductions, as well as his furry companion. Definitely will be contacting Monte again in the future.”

“They made me feel comfortable leaving my puppy with them. They sent pictures everyday and they had other dogs for my puppy to socialize with and a big back yard. Thank you William and Haley for taking care of Rocky!”

“Megan was awesome! She was flexible with our schedule and we loved that she was always responsive. Megan and her son gave our cat a lot of attention, care, and cuddles while we were gone and we definitely recommend her!”

“Teah was great. We had our puppy stay with her, which can be a bother. She and her husband taught him how to fetch and sent us videos and pics. I would highly recommend Teah for your sitting needs. We will use her again and again given her availability.”
“Jenna was very communicative and our bulldog loved staying with her. Her house is a beautiful setup for any furry friend. We felt so comfortable leaving our dog with Jenna. Thank you again!!!”

“Katie and her family took such good care of our pup! The videos and photos they sent made me confident that I had picked the right person to care for our baby! Would 100% recommend to anyone!”

“Kelti & Tanner are awesome! They are committed to accommodating you and your pet in all ways possible (incl. waking up to feed your dog at 5:30 AM/6 AM on weekends) If you're like me, then you are anxious whenever you have to leave your pet. While my big boy (Koda, a 78-pound yellow/white labrador retriever) stayed with with Kelti & Tanner, I knew I had nothing to worry about. That peace of mind is priceless.”
“Jenny was awesome! We are so happy she was able to help us out last minute. Piper absolutely loved the long walks and great care Jenny provided. We received updates and pictures throughout her stay. We highly recommend!! Thank you Jenny!”

“We are repeat clients because there is no one else that our pup loves more than Grandma Jane and Grandpa Scott’s house! Jane shares updates regularly and keeps our active pup busy and happy.”

“Our dog, Rocky, stay with Kristy was great. Kristy took good care of him, kept him safe and complied with his frequent feeding schedule. Kristy was also very accommodating with drop off and pick up times. We would not hesitate to have Kristy watch Rocky again.”

“Michelle was an excellent dog sitter. We knew Cookie was in safe hands while we enjoyed some Fall camping. When I got back into cell phone service on Sunday I was greeted with dozens of pictures of Cookie having fun and going for walks. He got a bath as well, and smells lovely. :-)”

“Johnathan was a perfect sitter for my dog Jade. He was very thoughtful and helpful while I was out of town for a longer trip, helping me know that Jade was having a great time!”

“Kenneth did an amazing job caring for Ava while I was gone. This was my first time using Rover, so I was extremely nervous, but he made the entire experience very comfortable. He sent daily updates with pictures and videos, followed all of the care instructions I left, and clearly treated Ava like she was his own. It was a huge relief knowing she was in good hands while I was away. I would absolutely recommend Kenneth to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter. Would definitely book with him again!”

“Scott, was amazing with both our corgis. He really made them feel comfortable, as well as us with updates and pictures. we would highly recommend him and will be using him again!”

“Karen was amazing with my high energy fur baby! She provided updates throughout the week and genuinely loved my dog. She reinforced her training, not allowing her to go wild.I’d definitely book with Karen again… I have a Weimaraner and not just anyone can manage a Weim! Karen is top notch..”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fairfax
Lauren is AMAZING! We could tell from the meet and greet that she is a true dog lover and Newton would be happy staying with her. At Lauren’s, he was well cared for and given lots of love. We got a bunch of pictures, which eases my nerves when we’re away on a trip. I could tell he was happy and comfortable because when we picked him up, he was laying on the front porch by her feet happy as can be. Will definitely be booking again!!

Hanna was absolutely excellent while watching Indy last weekend. She provided frequent updates, which gave me so much peace of mind, and it was clear Indy was well cared for the entire time. I could tell Indy was in great hands, and that meant everything to me. I would highly recommend Hanna and would gladly trust her again in the future!

Dion was wonderful with my little Maltese. He had never stayed over at another person's house before and is really anxious in new surroundings. Dion did two small sessions with him before our trip and we came home to a happy little dog. I cannot recommend him highly enough!
Rocky had a great time with Jenny & her family. She kept me updated, sent pics, and was responsive anytime I reached out. I’m so grateful for the peace of mind Jenny gave me while I was away. I will happily call on her again should I have a further need. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
