“I was glad to have found Kim via Rover. My cousins were able to have lots of fun attending my son’s wedding knowing their fur baby Macchie was cared for very well. Kim was very accomodating! Such a good experience. Will choose her again in the future!”

“What a fabulous family! It made my travel so much less stressful knowing she was in such a safe and caring place. Thanks so much to Jennifer & Robert and their daughter and son... oh and Murphy too!”

“Scott was so loving and did a great job working with our pup to ensure he was comfortable and having fun. Definitely recommend Scott for the one-on-one attention every dog deserves!”

About: We have cared for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities for family, friends, and anyone who needed a helping hand. In addition to pet sitting, we also fostered dogs, which has taught us patience, flexibility, and how to help pups adjust to new environments. Every dog deserves to feel safe, loved, and understood, and we will care for your pet the same way we would our own. Both of us have flexible work schedules, which allows us to give your dog plenty of attention throughout the day. Whether your pup loves long walks, playtime, or just having someone nearby, we’re happy to adjust to their routine. We are both very active, so if you have a high-energy dog, we’ll make sure they get plenty of exercise, enrichment, and love while you’re away. We are also currently a pet free home which guarantees your pup will come first, and reduce any fear of conflict. While we live in an apartment, it’s a very dog-friendly community with lots of green space, walking trails, and nature nearby, making it a great place for daily walks and outdoor time. We will always prioritize your dog’s safety by following their routine, keeping a close eye on them, and making sure they feel comfortable and secure. We are happy to accommodate crates, medications, special feeding schedules, or any other care your pup needs. Our goal is to make them feel right at home and give you peace of mind while you’re away.
“Michael and Anne were so great to Jax while we were gone for a week. He was so spoiled and happy when we picked him up! We also received several videos and pictures of him while we were out to see how much fun he was having. Will definitely use Michael and Anne if we go out of town again!”

“I had a great experience with my new dog sitter Jennifer! From the moment I dropped my dog off, she was very welcoming and made me feel comfortable leaving my new pup in her care. She kept my dog for 7 days and did an amazing job. She communicated consistently throughout the entire stay and sent plenty of pictures, which really gave me peace of mind. I could tell my dog was well taken care of and happy. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter, and I will absolutely be booking with her again!”

“I cannot express how appreciative my wife and I are for Tonia’s care in watching our pup. She had never been boarded before and we were very nervous about it. Despite our dog Maya having a lot of separation anxiety and some reactivity to people we felt reassured knowing that someone who genuinely loves dogs and has a very calm environment was watching her. Thank you so much for your help Tonia!”

“Kiersten provided a happy, loving, and relaxed environment for our doggo who is often anxious in boarding situations. Boo had a wonderful time playing with her other dogs and Kiersten took great care of her!! Will definitely use Kiersten again!”

“Melissa kept up updated with pictures of our boy daily. He seemed to have had so much fun playing with their other dogs. Thank you for snuggling him and treating him like your own!”

“Alej was great! I was a little nervous with it being the first time my dog has officially stayed with a sitter but she made me feel at ease. I loved the updates and pics while I was away! She was also very flexible and accommodating which I also appreciated. Will definitely book again!”

“Elijah was very professional and provided at least one update per day along with photos. Elijah made the whole process very easy; he was quick to respond, very accommodating, and appears to have taken great care of our pup. I would definitely use him for future needs.”

“Highly recommend! My dog stayed here for a multiple day booking and had an amazing time. The sitter was fantastic and which allowed my dog to socialize and spend time around a friendly large breed dog, which was a wonderful bonus experience. It was great to see my dog so comfortable, well-cared for, and happily socializing. I will definitely use this sitter again in the future!”

“Patrice did an excellent job taking care of my geriatric dog. Although my pet suffers from separation anxiety, Patrice’s handling of her was calming and comforting from the start. After pick up, she did not manifest restlessness, which is often a sign she does not connect with a person. We are thankful for Patrice’s caring touch and will be returning to her in the future. We highly recommend!”

About: I've taken care of humans my entire life, and dogs and cats as an adult. My son is very allergic to cats but I would be happy to care for cats at someone else's home and am open to a dog at my home. I'm a teacher by day, so I am available for evening walks and checking in during the school year. On breaks and in summer months I have availability frequently. I am open to taking in a dog in the weekend. I have one large dog at home and we have a fenced yard. I can walk and check in any time on the weekend. I have a fenced yard and one dog. I am flexible to your floofy needs. My dog is a Great Pyrenees, so we are unfazed by dog hair.
“Amira was great! She was easy to communicate with and was super flexible with our ever changing schedule. She took great care of our dog and I would love to have her watch Bunny again.”

“Maria and Benjamin went above and beyond taking care of our dog. They sent tons of photos and videos, were very responsive, and Mabel LOVED being there. We are so grateful!!!”

“Monte did a wonderful job keeping tabs on my pup! He was kind and welcoming with the introductions, as well as his furry companion. Definitely will be contacting Monte again in the future.”

“Finn’s second time with Holly and he ran right inside when we dropped him off like it was his own house! He was so excited to be there and hang with Millie which makes us feel so good leaving him. Thanks again, Holly!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lockland
My introduction to ROVER was a very positive one. First of all, Shanta did a great job of communicating what we could expect and the services she provides. During the 5 days we were on vacation, I always knew I could call or text to see how our cat, Simon, was doing. In fact, she even sent us pictures of Simon during his stay. And when we needed to pick him up earlier than expected, Shanta was very accommodating. Overall, it was a good experience.

Maddie is such a wonderful sitter and took great care of our Small Munsterlander while we were on a long vacation. The best part was that Maddie goes on regular hikes, so our pup got all the exercise she needs! They both had a great time together, and were so happy to have found someone who’s a perfect fit!

Siri was so amazing with my dog, Rooster (Roo)! She treated her just like her own and sent so many adorable pictures of them playing, snuggling, and running errands. She was also happy to keep Roo for an additional day when my flight was unexpectedly cancelled. I am so relieved to have found a wonderful local sitter and cannot recommend her enough!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
