Retired Couple Enjoys Guests
Having raised 5 sons, 2 rescue dogs, and a cat, we are now pet-free. We still welcome other pets for stays at the house and for neighborhood walks. Our rescue dogs each lived to be 14-ish, so we've had a dog in the house for 20+ years. We've been watching son's 2 labs (60 and 80 lbs) and several neighbor dogs at different times. We have some travel planned and try to keep our Rover Calendar up to date with our availability. We have a big backyard, but it is not fully fenced, so we have a 100' tether to keep a dog from running off during play.

Ratings and reviews
Joe and Laurie were outstanding in communicating and caring for our dog Enzo. They spoiled him as much as we do and gave timely and thorough updates. I highly recommend booking with Joe and Laurie.

Very happy with the care Cooper received and the daily pictures and updates from Joe and Laurie during his stay. Would definitely trust Cooper in their care again!

Joe and Laurie took excellent care of Tibi! Highly recommend!

Joe and Laurie love dogs like their own! Teddy had a fabulous afternoon with them. Had a nice long walk in their lovely neighborhood, and send the sweetest photos. Highly recommended! 🐶❤️

I had a great experience with Joe & Laurie taking care of my dog, Paccino! They were able to take him on very short notice, which I really appreciated. We had a meet and greet the night before his stay, and that helped put me at ease since it was Paccino’s first time going to daycare. Throughout the day, they sent me several updates and photos letting me know how he was doing, which meant a lot. I was nervous he was not going to do well all day as he is very attached to me and can be very particular, but he seemed really happy and comfortable when I picked him up and once we got home, he was tired from all the fun and walks he had! I could tell he was well cared for and loved. I would definitely be booking with them again!

Dixie had a great time with Joe and Laurie! She spent 5 nights with them, which was a longer Rover stay than she usually has, and I felt like she was cared for and loved on for the duration of her stay. They took her for car rides to the park (her favorite), gave her daily meds and treats, brushed her, and set up her bed and crate so she had safe spaces in their house. They also sent lots of cute, scenic photos from walks and provided daily updates so I felt like she was in good hands while we were away. I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again!

Schedule
We are both retired, and pretty flexible with our outside activities. Generally a guest wouldn't be home alone for more than a couple hours during a day.
Where your pet will stay
Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
We usually just host one dog at a time, but will do 2 dogs that normally live together (from the same client). We work to minimize overlap between clients on dropoff and pickup days. This lets us treat guest(s) like we did when we had our own dog. If your dog likes to sleep in a crate, feel free to bring it; otherwise we have a couple of dog beds available. You are welcome to bring a favorite blanket and a couple toys, but we have some here. Ideally we can show/discuss at a 15 minute "Meet & Greet" at our house sometime before the actual stay.
A typical day
Enjoy walks around the neighborhood or Sharon Woods. When dogs like to fetch, we do that in the backyard but are careful to stay hydrated.
