“Maureen was fantastic with my cat! She was on time, always sent pictures of them playing, and she was great with giving him pills. She was also very understanding when I requested to extend the reservation by a day. I would highly recommend her services :)”

“Thank you sooo much. Amika prioritized my dog’s care, administered his meds and cared for him with love. I felt good about leaving him with her. I will definitely book with Amika in the future.”

“Lauren accommodated a last minute booking for us! We have two cats, one of which can be a bit particular and both need to take pills which Lauren made sure they got. I had also found a kitten right before our last minute trip and Lauren also kept her quarantined and make sure she got her medicine as well. Thanks so much for taking great care of everyone!”

“Daniel recently provided drop-in visits for our daughter's cat Milo while we were on a family hiking trip. His pics of Milo showed how happy Milo was to see him, and when we returned home it was obvious Milo was much more at ease compared to other times we were away. We've also had Daniel pet sit for our dogs in the past, and he really creates a fast bond with them. We're so thankful to have someone as reliable and attentive as Daniel to care for our pets!”

About: I’ve been caring for animals for as long as I can remember, I am naturally quiet and calm so dogs especially are very comfortable around me. I’ve cared for dogs, cats and horses while their humans were away for 40 plus years and I am reliable and thoughtful with every visit. I’m retired and spend most days gardening with my dogs so I’m very flexible. It’s easy for me to make time to add pet care to my schedule. I care for my clients pets per their direction and request adding in lots of kindness and praise. I arrive on time ready to engage with them.

“Susan has been incredible helping us with our new puppy. She is timely and detailed. She really cares about your puppy and has been critical in our ability to care for our puppy.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, from small breeds to large dogs. Throughout the years I’ve been responsible for walking, feeding, playing with, and caring for family pets, including watching them for multiple days while family members were away on vacation. I understand that every dog has a unique personality and routine, and I always take the time to make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and will emphasize building trust with both pets and their owners. I currently work part-time in the evenings, which allows me to offer flexible daytime care for your pets. I’m generally available until 5:00 PM for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and companionship. Whether your dog needs exercise, a potty break, or simply someone to spend time with them during the day, I’m happy to help. I enjoy being active and love having a companion by my side on walks. Your pet’s safety and well-being are always my top priorities. I am attentive, responsible, and committed to following any instructions you provide regarding your pet’s routine, feeding schedule, medications, or special needs. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I will treat your dog with the same care and attention I would give my own. My goal is to provide a safe, positive, and enjoyable experience while giving owners peace of mind that their pets are in good hands.
About: I love all animals, was raised with 4 cats, and have owned cats and dogs most of my entire adult life. For the past couple years I have dropped in and cared for my co-worker's cats when they were out of town. I have also done dog walking for my neighbors. In the process of doing so I have found it to be a very rewarding experience! I hope to care for and meet many new pets in the future. I am currently working full time and have availability early morning and in the evening. I am able to do drop ins and dog walks during those times and anytime on the weekends I care for the pets in the clients how specifically however they request the animals be taken care. I make sure to follow all instructions required.

About: I have an 2yr old hound mix, I have a large fenced yard that we like to play fetch in and a nice neighborhood for walks. I’ve dog sat in my home and outside my home while owners were on vacation for weeks at a time. I’m a big dog lover that likes to go for walks and provide each dog with the attention they need while their owners are away. I want to reassure each owner that their furry friend is in good hands in my home and will be treated just like they’re at their home. I do have young children in the home too that love all dogs I work from home some and also have to work on site some days. I would provide a set schedule to the pet owner ahead of time of my work schedule. I have a fenced yard to provide safety and lots of play time and area to run. I have a locked gate to ensure your animals don't escape.

“Emily was excellent! She took great care of Ghita, Lilla, and Tigrana and was always available, responsive, and proactive. We felt completely at ease knowing they were in such good hands. Highly recommended!”

About: I have always grown up around dogs and have a puppy currently! We take walks everyday and I spend generous amounts of time outside playing. I enjoy being around dogs especially and love to play and give them plenty of love! I currently have a part time job and am a student in college. However, I will have plenty of time for your puppy. I’m available during the week and weekends, but this may vary. I have a fenced in yard with plenty of room for playing and zoomies! I always enjoy a good walk and make sure pets get lots of exercise, attention, safe, loving environment while in my care.
“Gabby did GREAT handling my two big babies! They loved her and I had no issues. I will for sure be rebooking Gabby when I need help in the future. Thanks again!”

About: I have decades of animal care experience, but I am also passionate about animal care and behavior. I've taken care of dogs and cats of all ages, from newborn animals to senior animals at the end of their life, and in many different contexts, including shelter animals, farm animals, and housepets. I also have extensive experience with farm animals such as horses, and have also cared for birds, insects, fish, and reptiles. I love getting to know each animal: their personality, likes and dislikes, and how they interact with the world. I treat each animal like the individual they are and get to know their particular care and routine. I do the best I can to help the animals I care for to feel comfortable and safe. What I am particularly experienced in: -Caring for senior dogs, including those who need meds or need aid in mobility -Caring for multi-animal households I am currently in-between jobs, so my schedule is completely open. I do not currently have any commitments, so I am able to dedicate my time to pet care. I make it a point to be safe and communicative throughout anytime I care for or petsit an animal: -Before I take care of any animal, I make sure to meet them and their owner together. This allows the pet to meet me, a new person, while having an already familiar person with them. This helps pet be more at ease and helps me to see how the pet feels when they are more comfortable. Meeting the pet beforehand allows us both to get to know each other, which will make for a more safe and pleasant experience when I go to care for that animal for the first time. At this same meeting, I can talk with the owners to learn about the animal, such as their background and any medical concerns. -While petsitting, I update the owners at least once a day as to how their pet is doing. If there is an issue, I make sure to immediately contact the owners with my concerns. -While caring for the animal, I always carefully watch their body language and behavior. I act in a calm manner and try to help animal feel at ease. I make sure to ask the owners about sources for anxiety for their pet, such any fears the animal may have or any areas the animal does not like being touched, so that I am aware. -Before leaving, I always check that the animal is safe and secure, such as crating an animal in needed, putting harmful things out of reach, and double checking doors are locked.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sharonville
Maureen is outstanding to work with. Very professional and kind. Our kitties, even our sometimes shy rescue kitty, loved her right away. 😻. It’s reassuring to know they are so happy and so well cared for. I think our cats will text her for play dates - even after we are home! 🤭

I’m really glad Anissa was available to watch my cats the following week. Doing two back-to-back trips was stressful, but I knew I was in good hands. We were able to work out some minor kinks in their care, and it made for a smoother visiting time! She was so good with Azula, and I got plenty of pictures (pictures of Mitski were occasionally included, as long as she was behind the washing machine). :)

Sarah took great care of our very shy Charley! He hid from her for the first few visits but they became huge playtime pals on visit #3 and thereafter. In addition to Charley’s fun and games, Sarah watered indoor and outdoor plants, filled our bird feeders and kept a close eye on our home. I just hope we can get Sarah again the next time we travel!
Daniel recently provided drop-in visits for our daughter's cat Milo while we were on a family hiking trip. His pics of Milo showed how happy Milo was to see him, and when we returned home it was obvious Milo was much more at ease compared to other times we were away. We've also had Daniel pet sit for our dogs in the past, and he really creates a fast bond with them. We're so thankful to have someone as reliable and attentive as Daniel to care for our pets!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
